Black conservative blasts Jackson and Sharpton over Imus flap
Chad Groening

April 18, 2007
Black conservative leader Jesse Lee Peterson is blasting Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton for their response to the controversy surrounding talk-show host Don Imus. Peterson, founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND), believes the black liberal pundits are trying to create another race crisis over Imus's insulting remark about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
"When Jackson and Sharpton stepped up to the forefront of this issue, it was an absolute disappointment to see the media pushing them forward as if they're the gatekeepers of the black community," Peterson notes. "That's an insult," he says. "Those men are corrupt."
And while Don Imus clearly made foolish comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team, he has apologized to the student athletes, and his employers have dealt with him, the BOND spokesman insists. "I believe that he owed them an apology and maybe the company that he worked for," Peterson asserts, "but he didn't offend all black women. He did not offend all black people."
There are far greater problems facing the black community, and Don Imus is not one of them, Peterson contends. Also, he says both Jackson and Sharpton have been caught using racial slurs against Jews and whites and have yet to apologize.

BRAVO!!!

Great stuff, but I say again, the national news agenda is set primarily by Whites and Jews, and they've determined that promoting Jackson/Sharpton brings in more dollars than people like Peterson. Furthermore, they understand that keeping Jackson/Sharpton 'elevated' helps to further keep Black people out of decision-making positions.
It's not 'all Whites' and 'all Jews' who are to blame. I'm just saying that Whites and Jews are the ones who control the agenda and are therefore the ones who benefit most from it.

I think there are many black conservatives but they don't speak out.

I think there are many black conservatives but they don't speak out.
They tend not to be loudmouths.
There are even more Blacks who stand simply for common sense, but you don't hear much about us either. ;)
-
I think there are many black conservatives but they don't speak out.
Of course there are, and Jesse Lee Peterson ain't one of them. He is just a black person hates other black people. Most Black people are conservative. Jesse and Al only speak the loudest. They still think it is 1968. They are to the Jurassic Period, as the new breed will be to the Cretaceous Period...Just watch, wait and see..
-
I think there are many black conservatives but they don't speak out.
They do, they just aren't given the opportunities like an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. This is my whole point! They exist, but you have to search them out, because you won't see them on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, BBC, Oprah, or even Fox. Fox Channel at least gives some black conservatives an opportunity. Rarely, if ever, have I seen a black conservative on these other channels.

So I guess folks like Larry Elder, Kenneth Hutcherson, Star Parker, Armstrong Williams, Wayne Perryman, Alan Keyes, etc. fall under the "they just hate other black people" moniker, huh? ::)

In a sense, yes. More likely themselves. They just don't get it, they like Al Sharpton and Jesse, only see one view. Especially Armstrong Williams, who I have said before has his nose soo far up GW anus he could smell cancer polyps growing. There is always room for healthy debate, but they seem like to talk down like they are better and have found a different way.... INstead they only criticize but don't do jack to try to get Hip-Hop execs, Stars and athletes to sit down and try to get something started. Truly revolutionizing and creating a a situation in which black people take care of their own problems in their communities. No, the people you listed only do the same as the Jesse's and Al's of the world, except for anthoer team.
I can't stand Al, too me he looks like he should be doing fast food commercial's (Rev. Al's _____insert food item)
-
Of course there are many black conservatives!
The thing is that what would urban black kids rather listen to? Sharpton's garbage that would make them feel like victims and rap music, or some guy telling them that they must work hard and get educated as that's the only way..

Here's the ultimate black conservative

Here's the ultimate black conservative
"Yessir Massa, ya want me to bend ova...just don't hurt me!"
"Yessir Massa, ya want me to fetch ya a pair of Docksiders from Annapolis, but I have to walk. Okie, dokie, I be back in two days."

Tre, seems common sense is a rare thing these days.

Someone is shocked there are black conservatives :-\ huh??? Now I find it a bit shocking there are black republicans and always scratch my head wondering why?

This statement alone puts you right up there with the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. And I don't think I could bring myself respect your opinion if this is the mindset you want to bring to the discussion.

Yeah, I mean, doesn't he realize yet that, because he's a Supreme Court Justice, he cannot be fired?

There are Black Republicans, because that's the party that freed the slaves. In the 1930s, however, there began a gradual shift to the Democrats, because of Roosevelt's New Deal. In the 1960s, the Democrats were given credit for most of the civil rights' legislation and that's why Republicans cannot really get 'the Black vote' today in national elections.
-
Here's what happened the last time a Black conservative attacked Jackson:
Back in 1997, when black Republican Congressman J.C. Watts denounced people like Jesse Jackson and then D.C. mayor Marion Barry as "race-hustling poverty pimps," House Speaker Newt Gingrich took it upon himself to apologize to Jesse Jackson.
To apologize for what another man said is to treat that man as if he were your child or your servant. Gingrich then added further insult by inviting Jesse Jackson to join him in his box for the Clinton inauguration for his second term as president.
Like I've said all along, there's a reason why Jesse Jackson is still 'in power' and I can assure you that not all of the blame rests on Black people for it.

Sorry, i don't respect a man dicked around a woman in a place specializing in Equal Opp. and then during his hearing claiming "electronic lynching", with his fat ugly wife sitting next to him. Kinda a sad irony he said the word lynching and many black were lynch for supposedly raping a white woman, yet his wife is white.
Thomas is just as bad as Jesse and Al. Thomas is just one of those that seem like a tattle-tale, who does that to get approval. You know, like the ones in school. Jesse and Al are just Sambo's who who know how to talk slick.
Compare me not to Jesse, I have always admired Malcolm X and Benjamin Banneker, and WEB Dubois, and France Fanon.

Malcolm was quite conservative in many of his views. You will hear him blast liberals in a lot of his speeches.
Contrary to popular opinion, black people have always held mostly conservative views. A lot of people think that because most blacks are democrats that they must be liberal. We are liberal when it comes to civil rights issues that affect minorities and environmental issues, but usually conservative on issues like crime, religion, homosexuality, etc...
I would say that for the most part that blacks are moderates.

I'm with you on WE Dubois and the Benjamin "the Sable Astronomer" and WEB Dubois, but I don't have any respect for militant mindsets like Malcom X (who slept with his fair share of white women too, but I guess you don't acknowledge that) or France Fanon.
I guess this means you are of a militant mindset.

You obviously haven't read my thread about the history of the two parties.

Most of my black friends are registered Democrats with strong conservative Christian values yet support tax and spend liberal Democrats.
Still scratching my head over that.
In all fairness though the Republican party has lost it's way.

I agree. The Republican Party has long since forgotten what it used to stand for. They won't even fight for Christians any more. This is age of the RINO's, Republican In Name Only. :-\

I'm from the South. Most of my family are registered Democrats, yet tend to vote Republican in the national elections.
My mother, who is from the North, is a registered Republican.
I registered as a Republican when I was 18 and supported the GOP for most of my 20s. I'm a registered Independent now.

Militant, somewhat, but I see the pitfalls of Malcolm X and France Fanon, I liked oratory skills, and the way he was willing to study and debate in prison. I like how he changed from being a thug, to someone who could eloquently put words together, but still had fire.
I acknowledge Malcolm's little tryst withe blonde, but he got locked up for it. And France Fanon, his theories are great, but his personal life reflected his self-hatred.
I like to see things from all perspectives, I take what I like and disregard what I don't need. No one person has all the answers.
but, I can tell you one theory that I have as to the reason why nobody has really said anything to Jeese or Al. It is because they are Reverends. And in the AF. Am. comm, you don't say jack about a "man of God". Rev have been used to either control the populace (black) or quell insurrection. But because MLK was a Rev, there is this close assoc with the black church and Civil rights....something that people are scared to question, out loud.

You may very well be right on this notion. These two "Christians" (Jackson and Sharpton) epitomize the hypocrisy of the name at which they label themselves.

That's part of it, but Jesse and Al are also 'protected' by The Man.

I have this suspicion that Jesse had a slight hand in MLK's demise....He gained a lot, and he was a young firebrand, just like Farrakhan was. ANd we all know who Farrakhan was fanning the flames for...
But, Colossus_500. I wanted to say, because I think you misunderstood me. I have no qualms about black men with white women. I think it is ironic that Clarence Thomas talks about "electronic lynching", yet there he is with a white woman, which not so long ago a black man would be lynched for being with.
Anita Hill was a lot more prettier than his wife....

If they are anything like a huge majority of the various ethnicities that comprise Canadian society, it's really very simple. While many of us may be fiscally conservative, we don't give a poop that the party who purports to stand for that is full of a bunch of priviledged elitists whose sole aim to maintain the status quo on their elitism. The right wing parties up here could have simply been named the KKK party, as many of their candidates seeking office were found to be members, and /or have said things that would strongly suggest membership in these types of organizations, ...or having shown they don't get it. It's not hard to spot those who don't get it. Half the time they don't even know they don't get it, ...but to those who do... it's obvious they don't.

There are a lot of liberals that fall into that category. The Clintons, Gores, and Edwards to name a few. I also know there are lots of "conservatives" that fall into that group too.
BTW, in my personal exerience it's always the so-called open minded liberals that were racists. Always so quick to toss me into group of people based on my skin color and ethnic background under the guise of "equal opportunity" - it's insulting. The conservatives I've met in my life are the ones that gave me the chances to prove myself and succeed based on my skills and record of performance.

Liberals in the US must be different from those in Canada, ...but I know the experiences you are referring to.

True conservatives for the most part are honest folks. I lean pretty conservative on certain issues, but liberal on others. Sometimes when I display conservative stances irl people are shocked and usually give me heat for it, as though because of my skin color I'm supposed to be a appologist pussy.
If republicans weren't worried about jebus and abortions and actually stuck to REAL conservatives issues that people actually care about, such as reduced role of government, low taxes, fiscal responsibility and importance on classical liberal ideals(expression, free speech) then the democrats would lose half their supporters. I also think many outsiders shy away from republicans because honestly the party is full of elitists.
Kinda sad that the US doesn't really have a true conservative party. I'm a libertarian myself, so most of my stances are conservatives, except for maybe legalization of drugs. ;D

Sadly, it appears that at some part, each party has kind of co-opted the others' platform.
btw CJ, did you enjoy 4-20? There was a huge 4 20 rally here in T.O. :P

In the time was drinking like crazy I kinda lost my taste for cannabis, so I don't smoke much anymore.

Peterson should be straightforward and say that he dislikes real black people's ultra urban culture just like the rest of us have for the past number of years since the early 90's AFTER the LA Riots. He doesn't have to disagree with their politics so publicly because including that in the uncomfortable issues about the crime culture of ultra urban americans is intentional and harmful to the identity of african-americans.
