Black conservative leader Jesse Lee Peterson is blasting Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton for their response to the controversy surrounding talk-show host Don Imus. Peterson, founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND), believes the black liberal pundits are trying to create another race crisis over Imus's insulting remark about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.

"When Jackson and Sharpton stepped up to the forefront of this issue, it was an absolute disappointment to see the media pushing them forward as if they're the gatekeepers of the black community," Peterson notes. "That's an insult," he says. "Those men are corrupt."

And while Don Imus clearly made foolish comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team, he has apologized to the student athletes, and his employers have dealt with him, the BOND spokesman insists. "I believe that he owed them an apology and maybe the company that he worked for," Peterson asserts, "but he didn't offend all black women. He did not offend all black people."

There are far greater problems facing the black community, and Don Imus is not one of them, Peterson contends. Also, he says both Jackson and Sharpton have been caught using racial slurs against Jews and whites and have yet to apologize.

Great stuff, but I say again, the national news agenda is set primarily by Whites and Jews, and they've determined that promoting Jackson/Sharpton brings in more dollars than people like Peterson.  Furthermore, they understand that keeping Jackson/Sharpton 'elevated' helps to further keep Black people out of decision-making positions.

It's not 'all Whites' and 'all Jews' who are to blame.  I'm just saying that Whites and Jews are the ones who control the agenda and are therefore the ones who benefit most from it.

They do, they just aren't given the opportunities like an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.   This is my whole point!  They exist, but you have to search them out, because you won't see them on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, BBC, Oprah, or even Fox.  Fox Channel at least gives some black conservatives an opportunity.  Rarely, if ever, have I seen a black conservative on these other channels.

In a sense, yes. More likely themselves. They just don't get it, they like Al Sharpton and Jesse, only see one view. Especially Armstrong Williams, who I have said before has his nose soo far up GW anus he could smell cancer polyps growing. There is always room for healthy debate, but they seem like to talk down like they are better and have found a different way.... INstead they only criticize but don't do jack to try to get Hip-Hop execs, Stars and athletes to sit down and try to get something started. Truly revolutionizing and creating a a situation in which black people take care of their own problems in their communities.  No, the people you listed only do the same as the Jesse's and Al's of the world, except for  anthoer team.

The thing is that what would urban black kids rather listen to? Sharpton's garbage that would make them feel like victims and rap music, or some guy telling them that they must work hard and get educated as that's the only way..

There are Black Republicans, because that's the party that freed the slaves.  In the 1930s, however, there began a gradual shift to the Democrats, because of Roosevelt's New Deal.  In the 1960s, the Democrats were given credit for most of the civil rights' legislation and that's why Republicans cannot really get 'the Black vote' today in national elections.

Here's what happened the last time a Black conservative attacked Jackson:

Back in 1997, when black Republican Congressman J.C. Watts denounced people like Jesse Jackson and then D.C. mayor Marion Barry as "race-hustling poverty pimps," House Speaker Newt Gingrich took it upon himself to apologize to Jesse Jackson.

To apologize for what another man said is to treat that man as if he were your child or your servant. Gingrich then added further insult by inviting Jesse Jackson to join him in his box for the Clinton inauguration for his second term as president.

Like I've said all along, there's a reason why Jesse Jackson is still 'in power' and I can assure you that not all of the blame rests on Black people for it.

Sorry, i don't respect a man dicked around a woman in a place specializing in Equal Opp. and  then during his hearing claiming "electronic lynching", with his fat ugly wife sitting next to him. Kinda a sad irony he said the word lynching and many black were lynch for supposedly raping a white woman, yet his wife is white.

Thomas is just as bad as Jesse and Al. Thomas is just one of those that seem like a tattle-tale, who does that to get approval. You know, like the ones in school. Jesse and Al are just Sambo's who who know how to talk slick.

Malcolm was quite conservative in many of his views. You will hear him blast liberals in a lot of his speeches.
Contrary to popular opinion, black people have always held mostly conservative views. A lot of people think that because most blacks are democrats that they must be liberal. We are liberal when it comes to civil rights issues that affect minorities and environmental issues, but usually conservative on issues like crime, religion, homosexuality, etc...
I would say that for the most part that blacks are moderates.

I'm with you on WE Dubois and the Benjamin "the Sable Astronomer" and WEB Dubois, but I don't have any respect for militant mindsets like Malcom X (who slept with his fair share of white women too, but I guess you don't acknowledge that) or France Fanon. 

I guess this means you are of a militant mindset.

Most of my black friends are registered Democrats with strong conservative Christian values yet support tax and spend liberal Democrats.

Still scratching my head over that.

I agree.  The Republican Party has long since forgotten what it used to stand for.  They won't even fight for Christians any more.  This is age of the RINO's, Republican In Name Only.
