Just watched Relentless and at one part it's 03.00 o'clock in the morning, and he says he will be back up in 6- 6.30 hours, that's all he needs he says :o :o
-
I thought it was less than that, something like 4-5 hours sometimes. I know Chad has said most sleep too much.
-
When you are on.. you recover much faster.

I think sleep is overrated
most big guy I know don't sleep much more than 6 hours a day or so
I usually sleep about that much time and I didn't have better results when I slept 10 hours a day
-
when you're already huge there's no need for 8-10 hours of sleep
how much more muscle fibers do you think he can grow with an extra sleep cycle?
-
Margaret Thatcher only slept 4 hours a night :P
-
Puff daddy and trump only sleep 4 a night.

Margaret Thatcher was SWOLE!
-
This concept of sleep being important for muscle growth has led to the fact that a lot of people skip workouts to stay in bed til noon thinking that this will aid them more than training again !
Ofcourse sleep is not as important as it's made out to be
Perhaps if you do heavy manual labor yes
-
Margaret Thatcher was SWOLE!
She power napped during the day, a lot has to be said for a 10-20 minute nap during the day.
-
I never get over 6 hours sleep
but I also thought that more sleep meant lower cortisol level?
can someone expand upon the relation of sleep and cortisol?
good article

I totally agree as far as muscle building goes sleeping an extra 3 hours or so has no effect

-

-

sleep is not overrated, if you sleep 10 hours you will have more power to workout, and you will be able to eat more. besides, if you sleep 4 hours you will feel like shit. one time i didnt sleep for 53 hours, you go mad. if you dont sleep for 7 days you re dead meat.
and if you dont sleep enough you will fuck up your biological clock.
-

Ya but admit it she aged quickly. It was like January not bad and then by July gross
-
"Great thread". Sleep until you wake up.
-
You feel the difference.
Sleeping 8.5 hrs (roughly)
for me is best, i feel awake all day.
Sleeping any less than that, i feel like a zombie.
you have to be wakin up early for a while to not feel like
shit later in the day...
i think everyone is different in that aspect.
Go to sleep without an alarm clock, see what time you wake up naturally...
if it's consistently the same, then thats what ur body needs.
-
What this thread has proven:
a.) many SUCCESSFUL people claim to sleep much less than the average person
b.) most UNSUCCESSFUL getbiggers are claiming the need for over 8 hours of sleep.
Interesting
-
Margaret Thatcher was SWOLE!
Now that made me "Chuckle" ;D ;D
-
Cutler sleeps 12 hours a day plus a 2 hour nap. He is Mr. Olympia. go figure..
you should get 6-8 hours per night. anymore, you are fasting too long, any less, you are not allowing your body to rebuild.
think about it, GH is greatest during sleep.
I think there are studies saying too little or even too much sleep was unhealthy and shortned life span.

Cutler is up before 7am each morning.
So, he's getting ready for bed by 6pm each night?
Please do not speak on things you don't know.
Thanks

in this interview he says 9 plus nap equals 10:
A "I try to sleep at least eight hours. Right now, in the off-season, I'm going to bed at about 12:00 a.m. and then getting up for about 9:00 a.m. Pre-contest, I'll go to bed at about 9:00 p.m. and get up for about 6:00 a.m. I also try to nap for about an hour a day, whether I'm training for a contest or not."
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0KFY/is_5_23/ai_n14706840

Not everyone has to go by clips and articles on the internet.
Believe it or not.....some people actually know Jay. He is a real human....not just a guy with clips on the net.

Idk if you guys remember an article about ronnie's 2005 olympia prep in the article "Top Dog Quads" about he's leg workout and it said that he only sleeps for 5-6 hours. that just crazy.
