He is a very rare prospect you cannot pass him up. His skill set is so rare. His physical abilities are one in a million. He also has a good head on his shoulders. He is like a bigger, faster TO without the charector issues. I guess the lions are demanding the bucs 2 nd rounders in addition with the swapped pics if the bucs want to make a move.

Dumbest move I have seen in quit some time. The phins have good receivers. Trent could have stepped in while they developed Quinn for the future. Cam is a great coach with qb's.

Marshawn Lynch to Buffalo? Wow. I guess they felt Mcgahee needed to be replaced right away. A running back shouldnt have been top priority for them in the first round.

The pats tend to go best player available. Wilson and Asante where 3rd and 4th rounders. The team as of right now is a sb contender, this is icing on the cake. There are still plenty of dbs left that would fit in the pats system. Worry not my friend, you have two of the best picking soon.

They would trade the # 24 first rounder for a second and a 2008 first if Quinn lasts until the 24th. The browns wants him bad. That would be robbery for us. We would get the # 3 second round pick, a high 2008 first and our 28th we already have! Pray they do that.
Harris is a better fit then poz for ne imo. Poz would be a nice pick, but I like harris better. But im not a gm so fuck that I say.

Wow. I really thought the Ravens were going to trade up to get Ross. He was heavily interviewed by the Ravens during the senior bowl.

I dont think so. He was involved in that brawl between Miami and FIU. I would not call getting into a fight one time on the field a charector issue. Richard Seymour stomped on some guys head during a pats game a few years back. He is a model player. Everyone makes mistakes. I love this pick. Merriweather is a criminology major and his father is a cop. He owns a registered hand gun jus like a million other athletes. Someone shot his roomate so he fired back in self defense. Miami dade police made it clear it was self defense and he did nothing illegal.They said the same things about Corey Dillion! He is a serious talent who lost stock due to a dumb mistake in a fight! Meriweather appologized for the fight and took full responsibility for his mistake. not hard to see how a kid could get caught up in a team wide brawl. Bp and Pioli dot all there i's. I think this was a tremendus pickup. Ed Reed clone who can also play nickel. I was really high on this kid all year, sorry for getting all pumped up in this post lol!

The miami police blatently said he was defending his roomate after being shot, and did nothing illegal. He is a criminolgy major who was studying to be a police officer. Christ, his dad is a cop. He owns a registered handgun. Would you shoot back if you owned a legal hand gun and someone was trying to murder your roomate, I would. They need something to sensationalize. Trust me this is a tremendus pick up. Meriweather is a top 15 talent. He can also play corner and cover the slot. He is sick.

The Ravens have now addressed their top two immediate off season needs. 1. Acquired Willis Mcgahee for a draft pick to significantly boost and add a new dimension to their running game. 2. Got a road-grading guard like Grubbs who is a good athlete who adds added talent to an otherwise average offensive line.
Good start. Now they need a cornerback. Josh Wilson from Maryland in the second round would be outstanding. The Ravens would need to trade up singficantly but it would be worth it.

Tim Brown, 1988. He is a bonafide HOF player. Charles Woodson had a few good years, but lots of DUMB picks like: Robert Gallery, Phillip Buchanon, Matt Stinchcomb, Darrel Russel, Patrick Bates, Todd Marijuanavich, Jeff Francis. Marcus was a 1982 first rounder.

Excellent example of why some teams never get better; inexusable to pass him up given the need for years now for a good QB. Pathetic actually. Immediately throws the judgement of the new guys in charge in Miami into question before playing a game.

Let's not forget that Alex Smith showed significant improvement last year. Their O-line should be vastly improved with the drafting of Staley also. The additions of Willis(draft), Banta-Cain, Clements, and Michael lewis on defense will be huge as well. Could very well translate to a very successful season. Bet on drafting in the lower tier of the 1st round with that extra 1st rounder in '08.

Great thought, only one correction..........Brya nt was waived. Other than that I feel the 9ers will be more competitive, especially now that they not only got Jackson, but took him away from a rival. 2 birds with 1 stone.

He's not injured, and he was their best receiver the last 2 years. Maybe age, but still productive. And it's pretty obvius that the Seahawks still think they are better than the 9ers, albeit they got swept last year. ;D

Here's osme stats on the 9ers 1st round pick trades.
FIRST ROUND TRADES
Since 1979, the 49ers have traded their first round selection 11 times (1980, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2006).
During this span, San Francisco has only retained the team’s original first round pick five times: DB Ronnie Lott (8th overall in 1981), LB Todd Shell (23rd overall in 1984), T Harris Barton (22nd overall in 1987), LB Keith DeLong (28th overall in 1989) and QB Alex Smith (1st overall in 2005).
Goes to show that No.1 pick isn't always the 9ers best picks. They flourish on the picks form the 2nd round on.

There is a very slim chance the patriots will get a draft pick from the niners higher then the 28th they Traded.The patriots made a pick with there 24th and traded there 28th for a first rounder and a fourth they used to get Randy Moss. So the pats 28 = 2008 first round pick, and Randy Moss. Either way the pats will have two draft choices in a very deep draft in the first round next year. Worst case scenario they draft at the bottom of the first round like they always do. Something I would not be worried about in the least. The pats have the most draft picks starting in the nfl. The pats also nabbed the raiders third round pick for 2008. Instead of the pats using there 28th on what they saw as second round talent at 28 they traded it. Could not be happier with that move. They are stockpiling picks for the future. They added nine players in this draft.
The niners pulled a slick move on indy. Ps, not a dig on San fran they had a fantastic draft. I say it is unlikley they hand us a pick around 28 not because of talent, jus due to development the rooks/team will need. I expect the pick to be around 15 - 20. even if it is higher who cares? It could also be 10 - 15. The pats always pick at the bottom of the rounds.

Yep. I love what the Niners did in the draft. Getting DJax from Seattle for a 4th was a great move too. I think we have solidified the WR position with Lelie and DJax. Gore is a stud. Vernon Davis is a freak. Alex Smith is improving. Very excited about the upcoming season.

SF should be able to be great at stopping the run this year, and hopefully with the LB's along with Manny Lawson, they can throw in some cover blitz packages that confuse whomever they are playing.

WTF..QB with the first pick? If he turns out to be the next Mcnabb in a few years great maybe we can get a first rounder for him but I really thought first day should have been a CB or S. With Houston on the board at DB I was shocked we did not pick him. The to get another LB?? I do like the DE from ND and the pick of Hunt is a steal that going to pay off when we need to control the clock late in the game. All and all I was not excited but trust what andy has done in the past regarding forward thinking.
The browns and 49ers had a great draft IMHO.
WTF can the Pats be any more stocked..Moss for a 4th rounder, Hell I would have traded a 4th this year and next for him...The Pats are the front runners for the big game again.
