How'd it go?

Lesnar is a beast. Very impressive.

Yeah, great competition he fought against. ??? If he continues training with Nelson, he could be a force. He is extremely athletic, his striking could get exposed against someone like Vera, who can strike, grapple and has a decent guard. The Saku/Gracie fight could have gone either way.

former nfl wr j.morton debut. Came out with nice intensity, but only trained hard for 2 months. I give him an A for effort. Let's see if he takes it a little more seriously now.

That was not the Saku I am used to...he seemed like he didn't really care

Brock is just big, with decent wrestling. Just about every top 20 Hw fighter would handle him easily.
-
i think he looked pretty good
-
is it just me , or is brock lesnar half the size he used to be ? his legs look like tooth pics compared to his pro wrestling days , do you think this was on purpose to beef up his cardio and athletism or do you think hes just riddled with injury and not able to train the way he used to like ken shamrock
I think in both cases, especially Kens, its because they are relying on natural test levels at the moment
-
I'm not sure of the quality of Lesnars comp. for the night , but he did make Lesnar look impressive in his debut. Could those punches have that much effect in that tight? last one looked like a good shot, but he couldn't possibly have much to them, could he?

his comp. clearly wasn't that good but lesnar still showed some skill. i think he could be pretty good someday.

normally those types of punches thrown while in mount aren't too effective. But here, the dude tapped....you know those punches were hard as shit if he tapped from them...

True. His GnP was very very good. Remember, Kim can take a punch. He took several clean punches from Mighty Mo and stayed on his feet for a while, before taking even more.
But it is too early to say how far he will go, but he won his fight dominating 100%. Fedor or Randy would not have done better. But how will Brock to against Fedor and Randy type of fighters, thats a big questionmark

Brock will get exposed on his feet, for one we havent see what his chin can take. This is the big boy stuff, not wrestling. Punches don't get pulled in this sport. #2 I wasn't overly impressed with Brock's take downs. He was much larger then this guy. He isn't on roids though and I was a little suprised at how small he looked to his wrestling days. I guess the D-Bol wore off. I think Brock will be a mid level fighter at best... But we shall see what happens. I had my money on Crocop as well, so in this game you never know.

Any vids of Royce's fight

What nonsense!
1. Exposed on his feet? Like fellow wrestlers Randy Couture and Dan Henderson? Or the judo/sambo guy named Fedor? You have not seen Brock's strikes or strike defense, and still you claim that he will be "exposed"?
2. Not "overly impressed" by his "takedowns"? There were only a TAKE DOWN in the singular sense. He attempted one take down after getting low kicked in his nuts, and he got the takedown against a silver medalist in judo on the first attempt. So 1/1 in takedowns..
3. "He will ony be a mid level fighter at best". Well....only a TUF noob with a roid damaged brain could make such a stupid statement at this stage. I bet you where one of the "experts" who claimed Brock would get submitted.

yeah gotta point out Chutebox....Lesnar was All American Wrestler at Univ Minnesota, hes got credentials when it comes to wrestling better than Randleman, Kerr, and Coleman....
now saying that , will it take him some time to put it all together , sure
i agree with you there
but he was an elite college . amateur wrestler , and a complete animal
now can he pass a steroid test
ahhhhhhh dunno

Randleman was a 3X all american who won 2 Div one titles, Brock won 1. Kerr, like Lesnar was a champion of Div 1 wrestling. Coleman, like Kerr and Lesnar is a Div 1 champion. BUT he did take seventh in the Olympics in 1992. He is training at a good school (Greg Nelson). Nelson is adept at Muay Thai, shootwrestling and a BJJ black belt, who won at the Pan Ams in 1999.
Lesnar should improve, if he keeps an open mind. He is a helluva athlete, incredibly strong, great balance. I don't expect him looking like Arjan Chai Sirisut anytime soon, but he should get better. Hopefully his management brings him along slowly, and allows his game to develop. Taking a big fight now wouldn't be the smartest thing. He could work up a couple of big paydays in the near future if brought along right.

I'm just waiting for him to lose and see how he handles it. So far the guy hasn't shown much heart with his pro careers. He quit on WWE, went to Japan wrestling and quit on them, tried in NFL and quit instead of going to NFL Europe. So what will happen if he doesn't do as well as he thinks he will do? or has a bad loss? Can't teach heart.
-
id like to see him get back on as much gear as possible and fight at 290
they need to stop posting his height at 6'2 hes like 6'4
I'd like to see him in Bodog. He could be fighting Aleks, and maybe his bro as well. K-1s heavys are kinda thin.

Hey Kev, how come Hawaii doesn't have a team in the IFL. We would kick ass.
-
^^^I would assume the cost of holding events in Hawaii (plane fair, accomodations) would make it prohibitively expensive. You could get Enson/Egan to coach, you'd have Niko, Ron Jhun, Ray Cooper, Harris Sarmiento, etc... available and not under contract. Lots of good fighters.

I thought the events were on the mainland. Does each team have to hold an event too.

Both home and away "games."

Not so much heart, but brains. NFL Europe doesn't pay jack squat and guys get permanently injured. Plus the whole reason he left the WWE was because he hated the road and just wanted to be home with his family, so NFL Europe didn't make much sense.
Hope that helps!

Right back at yeah there one man gang....
No one has seen Brock's stand up game, but I will put money on it, Pit him against a great stand up striker and he will be crushed. We also havent seen his chin... Who know's the guy could have a great chin.. But we don't know... I just think that he will be dominated on his feet. If it's on the ground differant story. But we don't know how well Brock can get off his back.. So if he is being mounted he could get ruined...
And damn right I wasnt impressed from what I remember of the fight. I have only seen it once, but I didn't feel that the takedown was as smooth as a Randy take down or numerous other wrestlers that have gone into MMA. I think that it could've been ring rust. But then again I think they brought Brock in to sell tickets, not become a champ.
I actually had no opinion on the Brock fight because it didnt matter to me.. It was kind of like the Tyson sparring match... It sold tickets which is what it was meant to do.. Do you really think that Brock will be a force.. If so maybe your the one who needs to lay off the test and quit watch TUF.... jesus.. why is it when someone makes a comment on this website and another party disagrees they come back with well your a tough newb....

It would have to be a stand up fighter with good sprawl and brawl. I think Brock will take most stand up fighter down almost from the bell.

I noticed at the side of that video link, there was Kimbo's latest fight, along with an advert for his cage debut? What's peoples opinions of him?

Randy and the crew at Xtreme Couture had good things to say about him as well.
