On PBW Lee tells Dan & Bob that he wants back in the IFBB and to do the Olympia this year. Will the POWERS allow this to happen? We all know that "they all" read Getbig. Let's tell the IFBB what we think. The official Lee Preist Petition for Reinstatement starts here.

yeah lee belongs on the ifbb stage. I think the last Olympia i saw him on though his legs looked totally smooth and flat and the pics from 1 week out looked sick, cut, totally separated. That cost big points.

No offense to Lee but he made his choice, I think that the pro div of the IFBB has a perfect right to protect their vested $$ interests. I think Lee should just be happy and positive in the PDI ,then retire and move on to racing full time. He has nothing left to prove, he made his mark on the sport and I suspect would not move up the Olympia ladder now with all the new and improved guys in the IFBB now.I vote no.

The IFBB knows that giving Lee the invite to stand on the Olympia stage after all that has been said and done would be nothing but a BONUS for them as it would draw more fans, excitement to the sport etc.
Sure we've had some new faces come up this year and the line-up is sure to be stellar (even though ronnie/jay/martinez top 3 spots is already sealed - in no particualr order - sad but true). It would be awesome to see where Lee in his best conditioning ever would place.
Easy top 6 in my opinion.

I've never liked Special invites to begin with, unless they have suggnificant merit...i.e.- a top competitor for years has an injury which prevents him from requalifying...a blast from the past wants to make a comeback (IKevin/ Shawn/ Flex)....

Lee's a great guy, I met him twice, once at the Arnolds and once at the Body Rock... He's also a top bodybuilder and makes the sport damn interesting.
He's done so much for bodybuilding, inspired so many kids into training, so much magazine coverage, placed high in many shows.
You got my vote, I think he should be invited to compete.

Gotta figure that he would lose to Jay, Ronnie, Melvin, Dexter, Gustavo, Freeman and some of the new guys like Wolf and Kai, no matter what shape he was in. If Branch and Darrem showed in shape he would not beat them either in my opinion. The guy is maxed out with the IFBB for a variety of reasons.
Why not milk the PDI for all he can and help promote the PDI with a positive message about their shows.
It serves nobody to have him bash the IFBB pro div. Seriously, if I could get more info on the PDI I might attend a show. But they don't even have an actual official web site and pretty miniscule contest coverage.

you've got to give Bob his props---he takes more shit on here than just about anyone and he maintains his compusure and actually takes the time to address various arguements, when most people and especially pro BBer's faced with the same hostility and ball busting would simply not post here or even respond.

Yes and no...there are other issues that need to be addressed, and other athletes that need to be taken into consideration.
I would love to see Lee back in the IFBB...of course, no one wanted to see him OUT of it in the first place!

It would be absolutely ridiculous of the IFBB to miss this opportunity. Lee is a spectacular bodybuilder who is obviously returning to this situation for his fans (and there are a whole lot of us). If the IFBB had any PR sense, they would allow him to return and by doing so appear to be an organization that cares more about their fans rather then some arbitrarily enforced political BS. This shouldn’t even be a question. Lee is a guaranteed top 6 (should be higher in my opinion) and this needs to be done not only for a great bodybuilder, but for the fans… god knows we deserve it! Its good for the sport (the competition) and its good for the fans (we love the story and the man behind it).

As much as I like bustin this guys nuts, he is a pro. I agree that pro's should be able to make there money when and where they can (aside from G4P). Some pros, need more than just what their endorsements pay, and to be a successful BB you can't really have a full time job and try to peak for a show.
Not all BB fans are educated on the complete physique, infact most fans are new fans that are just into the sport for the wow factor. Joe Weider specifically had obtained athletes in the 90s to add the WOW factor back into the sport to sell more tickets. A normal guy would look at a lee priest and say wow!!! how does he not win the show?, Same with Paul Dillet. Just adding more freaks to the show to sell tickets. The IFBB has capitalized off of their athletes for a long time and held them to exclusive contracts. Even the NBA allowed their athletes to compete in another organization (the Olympics).
Lee has voiced his opinion on the one sided benefit of IFBB Athletes, being good for IFBB, shitty for athletes. He has gone off tried new things and has decided he wants back in. No big deal. But to be held out of an organization who he clearly helped sell tickets for/filled auditorium seats for is stupid. People go to the pro shows to see the Freaks and that is what he is. Shawn Ray had his following but was just another short BB like david henry etc, Lee was different, He illicited those Good God he is a freak type comments.

lee is a an idealist. he says what he thinks when he thinks it.
he is a great bber and the simple fact is, all the other great bbers didn't follow him to the pdi. hey, everyone makes mistakes and there comes a time to move on.
pro sports is a fickle business and pro bbing is about as fickle a pro sport can be. what was he meant to do, keep winning the pdi? he's a competitor and he still believes he's got what it takes. he wants to take on the best out there and the reality has set in that the only way he can actually do that is to go back to the ifbb.

this isn't a choice from lee's part. he has no option, pdi seems to have folded. some of it's competitors have told me they don't pick up the phones, they haven't sent back confirmation on any of their "planned" shows yet(and some sent their aplications months ago) bottom line, lee will go wherever he has to, to make a living. i understand that. and great bb he is. but it doesn't take a BIG man to take "LEFTOVERS". only people without options. all kidding aside, i think the ifbb likes to control and almost humiliate you before they reward you. if you play along(of course you have to be good also) after they "push you around a bit", if you stay quiet and comply(alot like slavery, or being pimped!!!!) then they loosen the rope a little. then if you get too "full of yourself", they SQUASH YOU!!!!!! they just did it to ronny coleman. i'm not a fan of his, nor do i think he looked like the winner(he actually should have been about fifth or sixth) at the last olympia, but come on, he was the current, multiple winner who if they respected at all, they would have let him know in advance to maybe retire with some dignity. you know how many times after pre-judging the top guys know their placings?????? many, many, many times. why was this one of the times they just left him out there to be disgraced. chick, what i meant was, how many cases have you taken against the ifbb, not just appealing suspensions, etc.
however, this may be expecting too much given the nature of the poilitics and i concede that, you're right, i don't know shit.
if you're doing appeals, etc for the athletes and working with the ifbb you still appear to be doing more than any of the other athletes.

pro athletes take drugs. epo, anabolics, stimulants, gh, beta blockers, etc, etc, etc. it's all part of the game and it's been that way for a long time now. the reason bbers get such a bad wrap is because they stand out from the rest. they don't look normal like other athletes do and insecure people want to yell and scream that this is the reason they can't look like that, nothing to do with the fact that they don't have the will and the genetics ::).

I know i could have done better but looking back im glad i didnt. To risk my health wasnt needed for a little notoriety.

In the end i dont hate any of the guys on this pro path, or feel jealous. It saddens me to see them traveling a road to a dead end is all....if they could stay clean and healthy and do this it would be great, but idealistic.
I hope younger guys put work into other sports that can at least pay off some money for risking their kidneys or livers and all their joints. Lifting is a great tool to get you somewhere else in this world...it shouldnt be your world however.
