So who's your pick. The C63 AMG ( a modern day muscle car), The BMW M3 (rev happy), or the Lexus IS-F (the unknown dark horse)?
-
IS-F doesn't even exist.
-
Yeah, it does, besides being shown at the Detriot auto show. It has a 5 liter engine and a 8 speed auto. The vid of it's exhaust note is off the meter. It is a real stormer on the 'Ring. It will be relased later this year. Around the time the M3 will be released....Lexus has been really tight lipped about the HP figures, but it will have more than 420 HP.
I think the IS-F with it's 8 speed auto is trying to go the RS4 route, being that it has only been shown in 4 door guise.
The C63 AMG would be the car to have if one is interested in torque....Damnit would look nice in black...

Still I wouldn't take an Asian car over a German, even if you paid me. :)

To me a good car is a good car, regardless if it is Asian, German, or American. Each have their respective strengths and weaknesses. The japanese make thiers to be tools (some say devoid of soul, merely a utensil) to last longer, The Germans, to be barnstomers, and the Italians, speed, soul, and beauty.
The Americans used to be about atitude and swagger

With asian cars the handling is loose. Can't get over that compared to German cars. I'm not a fan of audi either. Totally different driving experience between the two.

Wheras that can be true, the IS300 was made to answer the E36 3 series. Because of that it was down on power, but big on handling. It came out in 1998 in Japan, 2001 in the US. By that time the bigger E46 came out. It had slightly more power (IS300 had 215, e46 had 225), but because it was bigger than the E36, it's handling suffered. The IS300 outhandles the E46 330i sedan
Plus, the new 335i coupe is having oil temperature problems (the oil for its twin turbos is heated almost goes near it's 320 degree threshold), and has made it "limp" home in more than one comparison to the G37 coupe. They are finally putting a oil cooler in the coupe.
As far as Audi, I guessing it is the front wheel drive that the base models have. BUt Auid has been making front wheel drive cars since it was part of Auto Union. But the Qauttro Cars tend to be heavy (the RS4 is 3900+ pounds)
I'm looking forwar to the caparison of the M3 coupe vs the CLK63 AMG vs.the Audi RS5, and the M3 sedan, versus the C63 sedan, versus the Lexus IS-F

We know they can make great performance cars that run on gasoline. That’s no longer impressive. If you want to impress me, make a great performance car that runs on something other than fossil fuels and cheaper than gasoline.
That said, I’m tempted by the ML63. ;D
Anyone here driven the Nürburgring
-
Oh I get it now.
and it is barely street legal at (22psi 330hp),on race tune (36psi and 50 hp n2o 589 hp) it isnt but i still drive it that way.i am really thinking about selling it because it has gotten pointless to have anything that fast,it has around $30,000 into parts not including the bike cost.if i decide to get rid of it i'll let you guys know ;)

Seen Ghostrider do it in a little over 8 minutes following another guy. Think he did it in even less on GR5: Back to Basics.

For some reason I'm not a big fan of the AMG versions of Mercedes. They make HUGE hp and torque but I still see them as luxury barges, maybe because they don't offer manuals. Car and Driver did a piece this month on the CLK63 Black which is a beautiful ride but it just doesn't drive me nuts.
Right now there's an '07 or '08 blue M5 parked outside that I'm ogling, when I drool over super sedans that's what I think of. Same with the CLK63, I'd rather have an M6. I know the Mercedes is badass but there's just something about the M cars that IMO makes them superior.
