I think I was either in Canada or England when she did that and anyways I was a babyand I missed it, I wasn't living in the USA. So therefore I think what she did was truly amazing.

It's called giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
She didn't make a 'free speech' from home it was done in a country actively at war with the US. Another thing is this nitwit started the trend of other celeb idiots making uninformed speeches, LOL!

True, the war ended. A war being popular or good is not the point. We're not talking about civil disobediance in this case. It's an overendulged celeb taking pot shots at drafted American soldiers from behind enemy lines. The law doesn't change depending upon the war's merits or public opinion.
Sure, she looks decent for her age and that probably makes a lot of mature women feel hopeful and empowered.

Actually Powerpack, ...her 'disappearance' as you put it occurred when she gave birth to her children.
Jane Fonda's career has always been on her own terms. Her Vietnam rhetoric didn't have as much an impact as you believe. There is no way a politician can afford the liability you claim she brings to the table. If anything, Jane Fonda and her outspokenness proved to be an asset for Tom Hayden

The trouble is she was not standing with drafted AMERICAN soldiers she was posing with N Vietnamese soldiers while AMERICAN soldiers where dying in the jungle and in POW camps.
I still remember the photos as a little boy because my dad was so upset, she was posing on a NV anti-aircraft gun with a whole load of NV regulars around her.

One guy said what hurt him the most was that she represented for many of them what they were fighting for, ...for many, she was their pin-up girl, and their fantasy girlfriend, ...and see her posing with the N. Vietnamese was like sticking a dagger through their hearts.
