She screwed up her career by appearing in N Vietnam on the side of the Vietnamese during the Nam war.

I think I was either in Canada or England when she did that and anyways I was a babyand I missed it, I wasn't living in the USA.  So therefore I think what she did was truly amazing. 


...and she may have made a massive impact.

You've missed most of the rest of her life.  She only made the news a few times, every decade.  She marched against Vietnam, 60s.  She did that vid, 70s.  She married a Californian politican, 80s.  then she did something in the 90s and now she's doing a sex thing in the 00's. 

She made a living.
Give her a break.  Take a look. 
I haven't tried the beauty products she sells, okay?  I only trust her so far too.

Onviously the tangent is a little complex for this forum.

It's called giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

She didn't make a 'free speech' from home it was done in a country actively at war with the US. Another thing is this nitwit started the trend of other celeb idiots making uninformed speeches, LOL!

A lot of people could care less about soldiers, that's their option. But.. free speech and citizenship are things that can be abused. My guess is that they didn't want to martyr her in such a politically charged time. No matter how you slice it, the woman is a traitor.

Writing Jane Fonda would be too easy, LOL! It's someone who gives aid and comfort to the enemy.

True, the war ended. A war being popular or good is not the point. We're not talking about civil disobediance in this case. It's an overendulged celeb taking pot shots at drafted American soldiers from behind enemy lines. The law doesn't change depending upon the war's merits or public opinion.

Sure, she looks decent for her age and that probably makes a lot of mature women feel hopeful and empowered.

Let’s see, she has been acting since the 1960’s, has seven Academy Award nominations, two Oscars, left Hollywood on her own terms (when she married Ted), after a 15 year hiatus is back making movies, and at 70 is one of the grand dams of Hollywood.

Actually Powerpack, ...her 'disappearance' as you put it occurred when she gave birth to her children.
Jane Fonda's career has always been on her own terms. Her Vietnam rhetoric didn't have as much an impact as you believe. There is no way a politician can afford the liability you claim she brings to the table. If anything, Jane Fonda and her outspokenness proved to be an asset for Tom Hayden
