Title: Most admired company?
Post by: BayGBM on August 01, 2007, 11:12:34 AM
I’m in a focus group tracked by a national polling company and about every other week I have to answer questions on-line about my attitude towards, and experiences with, various products, services, and companies.

I filled out one of their questionnaires this morning and one of the questions was something like, what Fortune 500 company do you admire most and why?  This was an unusual question because most of the questions they ask give you a choice of answers to pick from, usually between 5 and 25 choices, but this time there were no choices... it was open ended.

What company do you admire most?  Why?

Although I don't drive one, my answer was Toyota...

Allen Brothers would be up there.  The product is consistently high quality and the people are great.  My last order (I've only ordered from them 3 times) I was not home when Fed Ex came so they didn't leave it.  Someone from Allen Brothers must have received an alert because they called an hour or so later (I was home then) and asked if I wanted them to contact Fed Ex to redeliver that day.  I told him no thanks, I'd go pick it up at the Fed Ex office after 5.

And I recently received a hand-written thank you note for filling out a survey for them that took about 30 seconds.

Is Allen Brothers a fortune 500 company?  Technically, Toyota is not in the Fortune 500 list as it is not an American company, but it is in the Global 500 list, also produced by Fortune.
