it? Looks like it tastes good...that's something at least...anyone know if it is Whey AND Casein?
-
not sure about the whey/casein blend part. Read a label maybe...haha. Some of the flavors are decent tasting but from what I remember that stuff is loaded with tons of fat. Like 16g per serving. I didn't use this stuff on a regular basis. Only grabbed a couple a few times leaving the gym if I wasn't able to go home and get my own shake.

Shit, I like whey/casein blends the most, especially for the diet I am on now but fuck there is so much fat in it; sounds more like a bulking protein, even though it is advertised as a cutting one...still, nice vit. and mineral content, thanks for posting...

Medium Chain Triglycerides are structurally shorter (6-12 carbon atoms) than the more difficult to-burn long chain fatty acids. In comparison to other types of fat that require impressive amounts of enzymes and bile acids during intestinal absorption, MCTs are quickly metabolized by the liver. Their unique structure and biological role makes them an ideal source of energy that is capable of utilizing stored fat, improving muscle energy, and increasing the body’s production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). A number of clinical studies have suggested that supplementing medium chain triglycerides in place of other saturated fats may be helpful in maintaining a healthy body weight and therefore a more desirable physique.
This is a short def. of the MCT oil, which is the source of fat in the MuscleMilk product(s). You would have to take in consideration that if your trying to utilize the fat as a "fat that burns fat" you would have to maintain a low carbohydrate diet also, otherwise it would be considered as an essential fatty acid that the body will burn up faster for energy.

I am doing low carb; gradually lowering them...150 grams on lifting days, 50 or less on cardio days, going to tweak it down to 100 on lifting days and 30 on cardio days. I am familiar with MCT,my main concern was simply the energy content of fat, 9 cal.gram. I am keeping an 1800 cal per day range: extra calories are extra calories, regardless of the source...still I may try it if I can find it..thanks...

I love to create my own mix of proteins
-
I like the stuff but rarely buy it.

its what Im using right now! I usually use the AST whey isolate, but I love MM! soooooo yummy

Musclemilk is SHIT!!!Absolute garbage!!!!!!! Gimmick to the Max. Lean lipids my ass. Stuff will make you FAT. The formulation sucks for pwo, notice the primary protein is casien, followed be whey concentrates. Not to mention the 15+ carbs it has. Fat 20, sat 1/2 that, so 3 of those shakes a day and your now lookin at 60fat and 30G SAT FAT!!! Who wants to put themselves in that situation. Taste, i can't disagree,... The stuff taste awesome, especially the RTDS. Once in awhile i dont see the harm, but as your everyday protein, absolutly not. Better off with a decent time release like pro complex, or whey isolate with a few tbs of natural pb. When purchasing protein, its all about bioavailiblity ( what we absorb). The primary ingrediant should always be whey isolates ( especially if taken PWO). Steer clear of massive bulk tubs of protein and Muscle milk. Also try out one of those Labrada leanbody RTD's, just awesome. Labrada did musclemilk the right way.

I use muscle milk as a nighttime protein. It is a casein/whey mix with fats which is slow digesting which makes it a viable choice for bedtime. It definitely should not be used pre/post workout, but I think it can fit somewhere in your diet. It also helps my sweet tooth when I'm cutting up. Just my .02

You can get cut up with that stuff? 350 cal. per serving and only 32 grams of protein, plus unnecessary carbs and fat; that would ruin my diet. I know there is a light version out there but the carbs...no I'd rather stick with a super low fat, low carb, high protein time released (casein/whey) for me, especially on a diet.

But it's only Whey so after about 3 hours the amino flow isn't there anymore; that's why I prefer whey/casein blends...

Absolutely, but for pre and post workouts its the best IMO. This with an added scoop of creatine is perfect!

You could allways make you own mix of casein and whey. Optimum 100% Casein (Ban, Choc and Van 2lb's-4lb's) and NOW Calcium Caseinate (Unflavored 2lb) make a good casein based protein, and you could use any brand whey protein to mix the two. You will get around 45-50 grams of protein when doing the mix, cause each would yeild 20 to 25 grams of pro per serving.
