Title: Doesn't Jay ever take time off?
Post by: Camel Jockey on November 04, 2007, 12:56:55 PM
The indications are that he's on all the time.. I mean he's never small, whether normal pics or guest posing pictures.

Guy hasn't burned out yet? Can't tell you can be on year around, but Jay seems like he is, as he's always huge and carries decent conditioning even while guest posing.

I'm sure he goes off, but considering he's offseason eating his ass off- #1 he aint gonna loose that much that quickly and #2 he's fatter so he still looks big. and possibly #3 his genes allow him to retain more than the usual user?

Unlike a lot of pro bodybuilders, Jay still looks surprisingly healthy and he's probably quite lucky when it comes to his genetics for his response to gear and lack of side effects. He's been in the game a long time now and if he was gonna burn out we'd have seen it happen by now - I think he'll go for one or two more Olympias and call it a day. He's a happily married man with a great business mind and he'll do well after the sport. I think he can afford to stay on at the moment for now.

jay dont know shit, other then what his "trainer" tells him. he has no education in chemistry, biochem, pharmacology, just because he takes massive amounts of drugs doesnt mean he knows his shit.

He's 270lbs and 12% bodyfat in the offseason.
He's 285 and contest shape two weeks out.

That's probably about 30lbs of difference in muscle size considering bodyfat changes.

He's probably not off, but he definitely plays it a bit more safe in the offseason.  He starts getting ready almost 5 months out of the O, so his offseason is only 7 months, and he loses 30lbs of muscle during that time.  That's some pretty rapid weight loss.  I'd guess that when he's done competing, that 30lbs becomes 60lbs with a whole year off of competition.

I'm sure he thinks he'll hold his size without the gear, but if he's losing 30lbs of muscle in 5 months, WHILE training hard.....he's not exactly holding his size.

does jay stay on all his muscletech supps year round? at the same high dosages???  that's crazy man.  he'd be healthier if he cycled his muscletech supps, and if he's worried about losing too much size when he's off muscletech then i suppose he could bridge the stuff in low dosages between his heavy cycles.

Please, you actually think he weighs less in the off-season then when he's on stage? Let me guess, you read this in Flex. Plus, you're numbers are way off anyway.

Do some of you just start typing and whatever shows up on the screen, you just go with it?

Doesn't Jay claim to be over 300 in the offseason and under 10% body fat?  In any event, like any massive bodybuilder, he will not be able to hold even close to his size when off juice entirely.  That is just science.  Plus I think he said he would prefer to be 230.

No, he's right.  There is VERY little know about this thing called "somatropin."

We call it growth hormone.  It is very new to the body.
Since it has only been produced by the pituitary gland for a few years, not the entire length of human evolution, science has little information on its actions.

It's a very unique hormone.  NO ONE in history has ever had a pituitary hormone that caused excessive growth hormone production.  There aren't even terms such as giantism or acromegaly to define this phenomenon.

And, since humans haven't produced growth hormone since the origins of our existence, and there have never been any humans who produced excess amounts of this hormone, we have almost no case studies of its effects.

In fact, I don't think GH has even been isolated as a peptide hormone to allow its effects to be studied.

We know nothing about what it does.  Scary indeed.  ::)

Think about it for a second; if he could get in that shape, don't you think he would? ::)
BBing isn't an exact science, you can't always do the same exercises, same doses and/or same supplements, eat the same and end exactly the same each time.
However, if Jay (or anyone for that matter) was able to come into his 2001 shape and destroy everyone on the stage; don't you think he would?

just like any hormone in the body, there is an "average' as to what most people produce naturally, i.e. test, gh, etc. That means there are those that produce certain hormones at a higher level naturally...that's the concept of an "average, you take all the low and high numbers and find the median.

...and humans haven't produced GH since the beginning of their existence? What, are you seriously saying this? That's like saying human beings haven't always breathed air...they used to rely on helium  :-X

I assume you are being sarcastic in what you said above.  That said, yes GH can by the very definition of how it works, increase your organ's size and just about everything else in your body.  Different body parts will grow at different rates based on a number of factors such as age, type of organ and it's composition, as well as natural and genetic proportions.  For example, non-ossificated bones with active epiphyseal plates will obviously grow much quicker (They will actually increase in length rather than just in density and diameter) than bones that are fully ossified (Or ossificated? I can't remember which).  As far as organs, go smooth muscle (which is what most organs are made of) and cardiac muscle, it is believed that GH increases their growth by stimulating additional growth factors in the body, and not directly, but rest assured they do indeed grow.  As you grow older, the body, however isn't capable of producing the amounts of growth factors needed to make them grow as quickly as much of the rest of the body does.  This is another reason GH is much safer later on and why young people should never take it.  i.e. before the age of 25.  Anyway, I'm really out of time (I always find myself answering indepth questions just before I need to go to the gym) but the simple reason is that different body parts grow at different rates when stimulated by different growth factors, in general the more simplistic the organ or part, the quicker it will grow. This is why taking GH or IGF with a tumor is... well stupid, it will generally at least double it's growth rate.  This is also why it's a misconception that IGF in particular causes cancer, generally what happens is people had a tumor that was small and it grew rapidly upon administration of the IGF, they then discover the tumor and blame it on the growth factor. Off to the gym.

NeaR Hourly slin/HGH dosing protocol?

Even if so, it dont diminish what hes achieved, but looking at his earlier development I can help but wonder if the sport (Or is it more of a mad science project?) is headed in the right direction.

I'd bet his program would kill many peeps. Wondering if ,and what hes on is stupid. Duh Duh Duh!

Whatz amazing is all these NatY Steroid Hate club members support BBing and grew it to its present state.

Do you know Jay?  Have you seen him step on a scale?  Or is this what the internet experts all "know."

The beauty of the internet is it is the ultimate tool of oppression to those seeking to progress in bodybuilding.
I love when people on the internet speak as experts.  What people don't seem to understand is that if all these "experts" knew what the hell they were talking about, they wouldn't be on the internet, they'd be off winning shows.

I'll assume your inability to assess sarcasm belies your high level of intelligence. lol

Met him several times but I would not call us buds...no, I do not know everything about him. That said, we all know what Jay's contest weight is, this is put right in front of us for all to see. When it's offseason weight, no, we don't have official weighins to gauge this by, just what the individual says and how he looks...it's not to hard to tell if someone who claims to be 300lbs is telling the truth.

As for being an expert, yes, I am an expert. To steel some of GH15's favorite words, you know nothing about me or who I am or what I've done. you can take whatever I say on here and do whatever you like with it...I could care less. Everyone on this board knows who the good guys on here are.

well the more muscle you have and if your on huge amounts of drugs.....weight can fluctuate alot due to "water levels".....and food in belly. specially with the amounts of food it takes to be over 300lbs of mostly muscle.

madmax no doubt. you should relax young fella, your gayness is apparent.

jay dont know shit, other then what his "trainer" tells him. he has no education in chemistry, biochem, pharmacology, just because he takes massive amounts of drugs doesnt mean he knows his shit.

that analogy is similar to and AIDS patient being a pharmacist because he's taken twenty drugs, your mother should have swallowed you.

Jay diets himself and doesn't have a "trainer" as you put it.
