65 and 66 were the same body style. They changed slightly in 67! My step dad used to have a 65 ss!

I'm not big into "classic" cars because I'm too much into technology. If you can find me a 1970's muscle car with navigation, heads-up display, bluetooth, active steering, active headlights, automatic climate control, dynamic stability control, heated and ventilated seats with memory settings, park-distance control, lane-departure warning, and an MP3 player, I'll consider it!

I had a 78 monte carlo(training day ride) all done up and when i sold it i thought i would miss it, but my new magnum and the technology is so much nicer. There is a company that will take the shell of any muscle car and make give it all modern day technologies. Costs 80 or 90 grand though.

For that, you may as well just buy a new car.

If you want the performace of a new viper or corvette, your going to pay anywhere from 60 to 100k. If you've got that kind of money for a new car, chances are you have more money to spend on teching out your old car. However, most car collecters i know would not do that to their old cars.

Me and my brother were just talking about this and I agree. If i'm gonna spend 50 thou on a car it sure ain't gonna be a restored 35 year old muscle car that can't get out of it's own way. To each his own but I'd but an 07 Zo6 for that money and drive circles around the dinosaur.

You're not getting an 07 Z06 for $50 lol an 03/04 sure with work too , Z06 best bang for the buck bar none !

Yeah, but you are not buying an old dinosaur for that reason? You buy it as a collector to be nostelgic or sentimental? You're not buying it because it has "bluetooth or navigation"?
You're buying to to remind you of the Golden Age of American society. I was in Rhodesia and just 9 years old when my dad bought a 1957 Ford Fairlane 2-door Crown Victoria. I'd love to have that car again one day.
I went on my first date in that car. It's the memories....

I have an old Road & Track magazine with an ' updated ' 1969 Camaro it was built to run the Nevada Silver State Classic thing had a top speed of 221MPH this is one old car that could get out of its way

That's pretty fucking fast. Straight line speed isn't the problem with muscle cars, it's weight distribution, suspension and tire technology. In the real world you very rarely get to open up a car for very long (if you like your license), but you can have a ball tearing up off ramps and curvy roads

Thats true because drag racing is hugely popular in the US hence why straight line speed always mattered more !

I agree...
The work they've put into the Zed 06 puts it leaps and bounds above the rest as far as price / performance is concerned.

I can honestly say that if you did, I couldn't really find huge fault with it. :D

Yes thats where they fine tuned the suspension it ran 7:42.9 - 160.207 km/h with Jan Magnusen doing the driving this its faster around the ring than the GT3 RS , Lamborghini Murcelago , Pagoni Zonda Porsche GT2 , and the Mclaren F-1 it ties the Ford GT

Those pics I posted were from New England drag way and the best he could manage was a 12.2 in the 1/4 and those cars are mid 11 cars bone stock but his driving abilities left to be desired his buddy was there with a band spanking new Shelby Cobra GT500 and he was running 12.7s lol two guys with more money than skill.

My grand dad has a 65 sitting around in woods. And my uncle had a 67 SS that originally my grandpa's as well. He said he was saving it for me, but sold it :'(. It was black...Man I remember hearing that engine gurgle while going uphills when I was younger. I'm thinking of tracking down the people who it was sold to. I want it back...my deceased grandpa would want it that way :)

Yeah, you know what really funny. Have you ever watched the the show "Supernatural" where they are in a 4 door Imp? Well, on my grandpa's property, they have a Biscayne that looks the same as the Imp, in fact it was just a cheaper model. I think it would be cool to have that car done up in black like the "Supernatural" car.

2009 seems like a lifetime away :'(. Hopefully, time (and HP) will not have passed them by. Look at the Mustang, now the Lexus IS350 is making more HP with a V6, than a base model v8 GT, and posting better 0-60 times as well. As well as the Infiniti G37 and the 335i
