they always say its training eating and --- sleeping!
so how many hours per night do you normally sleep ?

anywhere between 4 and 8

I prefer to get 9 or so, but these days it's usually around 7.5 with a 20min nap if I can swing it.

it took me two years before i could go to the police academy just to learn how to not be so amp'd up.the people i work with have never really seen the short tempered side of me before.they would most likely fire me if they did.

albert einstein slept 4 hours a night. Let me tell you one thing, its a myth that you need 8 hours of sleep. I know a lot of people that sleep more then 8 hours and they feel tired all the time. Its all mental, lets say for an example you feel tired right now, and all of a sudden you have 100 000 dollars in the palm of your hand, would you still feel tired? Dont think so, its allmental, your spirit is tired, and the body listens to your spirit. Snap out of it son, learn some mental knowledge.

also carbs make me quite sleepy , i usually only eat carbs once or 2 times a week tops . once i start eating carbs ill eat a ton of them icecream sugary protien bars ect then get full as hell then sleepy
i feel much better when dieting on low cals and no carbs no superfullness from the carbs

I just got up at 4...fell asleep around midnight last night, gonna go get a morning session in. Tonight hopefully I can get closer to 8...Thursday will be doing good to get 5-6. Then Nasser Night Friday will hopefully see me get no less than 10. Same Saturday. It's not consistent but probably averages somewhere around 7.5?

People have been studying sleep forever and the amount of studies done is unending, and despite all of that, sleep and our need for it is not fully understood. If you 'need' 8 hrs sleep, you probably do. If you get by on 4hrs a night, you're probably selling yourself short in some ways (eg. advanced aging comes to mind) but you'll probably function ok, so don't worry about it.

IMO if you dont have enough willpower or feel like doing an hours worth of cardio combined with low cals i would say a person is sleep deprived. If im sleep deprived all i wanna do is eat when i 'should' sleep

5-6 on a regular basis cuz im always busy between my job, bodybuilding,personal training and being doorman at a nightclub on weekends... but usually once a month im like fuck it i shut off my phone , stay in for the night and sip half bottle of nyquil and pass out till whenever the next day... which would be usually 10-12 hrs sleep...

I have sleep apnea, used to sleep like absolute dog shit and was always tired. Now i have a CPAP machine and I sleep like a baby. If you snore REALLY loud or stop breathing momentarily while you sleep, you may have sleep apnea and should get it checked out.

I need to make an appointment to get my apnea checked out too....Wisconsin, did you sleep one night at a hospital or sleep center ? Or did you outright buy the machine? I think you have to go to the sleep center if you want your coverage to cover some of the cost.

Here's a simple one: Do you know that the FAA and the DOT mandate limitations on flying/driving to ensure restfulness. In fact, on long-haul flights, crews are encouraged to sleep, in shift, to ensure preparedness. So, if you feel like taking a chance, try flying with a pilot with 'your' more limited amount of sleep. I will fly with a pilot that has been well-rested and actually lives in the real world. Bonus: Here's a prediction for ya: Insurance companies will, in the near future if they haven't already, start looking into sleep deprivation as a cause(s) of vehicle accidents and comcomitant culpabilities. Sleep tight.

is there anything in this studie you disagree with? if they say 8 hours sleep isnt as good as 7, why would you question that? on what grounds? you dont think a study like that, one of the largest of its kind, is worth anything? why not? can you look up ONE single criticism on the net to that study? just one. cnn editing would be fine.

You have to get a sleep study done before you can have a doctor prescribe you a CPAP machine. You go to the hospital and they hook you up to about 20000 wires and monitor you while you sleep.

Slept from 12-15 hours a "night" but after a while you get depressed and feel sick.
Best for me is from 22:00 to 06:00.

I agree sometimes on weekends, after a long night i sleep like 10-12 hours and feel like shit. i think 7-8 is optimal, but I can function on 6 easily.
