Great Ad - too bad Huckabee has no serious workable plans to fix anything in this country.

I wouldn't be suprised to see a McCain - Huckabee ticket

Chuck Norris mountain Dew commercial back on today.  On a few channels.  Maybe I"m just noticing it because of this ad.  Or maybe it was coordinated.  Wouldn't take a genius to have Chuck's agent shake client trees so they all maximize their exposure in a week where youtube and cable news are going gaga over this ad.

Shit like this makes your election process lose credibility to other countries.

What a gimmick.

What a gimmick.

The travesty in Ohio (director of firm running new e-voting machine promises election to bush in memo to employees, then result defy 1 in 50000 chance by exit polling after power shutdowns and oddities, then litigation prevents paper counting of backup for simple verification) should be enough to show you our elections are a joke.

If/when those votes are ever re-counted, there is a 49,999 in 50,000 chance that Kerry will have won the election.

As far as a gimmick, yes, but, Chuck Norris is a big second amendment guy, and the other meaningful repub candidates (Mitt and Rudy) have both been anti-gun for decades, then suddenly changed positions in 2007.

Well, our process is full of holes, but not because of this.  People aren't going to vote for him because Norris will watch the borders ::)  It's just a funny clever means at saying, here I am.  People should then look into the guy and what he stands for and vote for him or not.

THIS IS WHAT MAKES OUR SYSTEM LOSE CREDIBILITY:

people will consider who endorses a candidate, such has been for a long time. It will not be most people's only factor. The only people who would vote for Mike because Chuck endoses him are rednecks that would have already voted for a guy like Huckabee already, nothing changed.  This commercial is not what makes our system lose credibility.  Not counting votes and rigging machines is what makes us lose cred.

something like 8% of people care about who endorses whom.

At the same time, Chuck Norris might have more fans than Oprah.

Huckabee is looking more and more legit every day.  I talked about him 9 months ago when I first saw him on Imus.  The man reeked star power, common sense, and honesty.  I posted here that he would be one of the top guys, even tho he was completely unknown at the time.

prob might be Mitt, Rudy, and McCain have flipflopped and shown each others floaws, while Huck just keeps plugging along. HE's th eonly dignified man in the top 5, IMO.  Thompson maybe - but he's just so lazy and out of it, and dropped from 14% to 4% in Iowa in a month...

I like Chuck Norris, even though our politics are different, but I think it's funny.  There is one thing Chuck fears!  LIBERALS! hahaha, yes he's afraid of liberals!  To date, it's the only thing he's cried about publically.  I watched him on fox news telling how liberal hollywood basically blacklisted him because of his political positions... Oh brother, like he thought he was shut out of roles given to guys like Tom Hanks because he's a righty... yea... Chuck doesn't get certain roles because,... well... he's Chuck! not because he's been blacklisted by hollywood liberals... Can you imagine how the Da Vinci Code would have been with Walker Texas Ranger in the lead role :D

I doubt other countries pay close attention to our political campaign ads.

I think it's very clever.  Shows that the man has a sense of humor.  Now all he has to do is express a working knowledge of football and he has my vote wrapped up.   :)

Huck could beat Hilary.

Mitt will look like a douche against her.
Rudy is not as smart as her, hands down.
McCain will hold his own.

But Huck would make her look like the phony she is, in debates.  He exudes a very geniune personality.

I like Huck, but I think Rudy has the best chance to beat Hillary.  Romney could probably beat her too.  Remember he was elected governor in a very liberal state.

I'm taking a harder look at Huck.  I like what I've seen and read so far.

Neither Rudy nor Mitt can rally their conservative base - that is where Huck is surging.  All the bible thumpers, who couldnt put their faith in Rudy (abortion right and gay parades and illegal sanctuary) and Mitt (admitting he lied about his position on abortion just to get elected)...

ALl these bible folks suddenly discovered Fred and he led for 5 minutes.  He was quickly exposed as a clod, and they had no one.   Suddenly Huck came on their radar with a strong second int he iowa straw poll despite putting no $ into it.  Now it looks like he could get second - or even FIRST - in Iowa.

He and RP are the only repubs I'd vote for.

Mitt lied to get elected, and admits it.  What kind of shit is that?
Rudy fought against guns, fought for gay and abortion rights, and now tells us he has new positions - he is lying to get elected.  Can't you all see it?  And DON'T blame 911--- there is youtube clip of him bashing handgun ownership in 2002, so that excuse goes out the window.

They are flipfloppers.  I hope the repubs here see this, and realize they don't have to settle for someone who lies for them, and they vote Huck.

Rallying the conservative base is more relevant to the primary.  Not as important in the general.  I've maintained that Rudy's biggest challenge will be getting the nomination for that very reason.  Many conservatives don't trust him.  I think Romney's biggest problem in the primary is his religion, although the fact he's Mormon shouldn't matter IMO.

Rudy will draw independents and some of the Reagan Democrats in the general.  Romney has already shown he can woo liberal voters.  Either one will be formidable in the general.

There are many americans who - due to religion or whatever - will stay home on election day because there isn't an anti-abortion candidate running.

There are many americans who will stay home because they hate gays and feel both parties are sympathetic to gays.

There are many americans who will stay home because they feel both Hill and Rudy will leave the borders open.

There are single issue voters of all types.  They add up.  Rudy and Hilary overlap on a lot of positions.  A lot of people aren't going to vote - and the list above chips away from repub votes, not dem.

There are pro choice voters who would vote for Rudy, and pro life voters who would vote for Romney and Huckabee.

There are Democrats who would vote for Rudy because he is sympathetic to some homosexual issues.

Most importantly, there are a ton of voters who will vote for anyone running against Hillary.  I'm one of them.  Her negative poll numbers are through the roof.

Yes, but on both of these issues, his Dem combatant will be MORE sympathetic to homosexual or abortion issues.  In other words, he isn't going to steal many gay voters from Hilary.  The vast majority of people who are gay or like abortion are Dems.

You hate hilary so much you'd vote for a guy who admits he lied just to get votes.

What low standards you have, dude.

Mitt admitted he lied about his positions to trick the people of Mass into voting for him.  When in office, he passed legislation which helped abortion rights.  Then, he suddenly flipflops, and admits he was lying all along, every time he looked voters in the eye and tol dthem he supported right to choose abortion.

He lied about supporting the killing of babies, mang.  And he ADMITS it.    And you'll vote to make him the most powerful man on the planet.

I know she has some of the highest disdain ratings we've seen in a decade.  It's been talked about for a long time.  I think she's selfish for running - an edwards or gore or kerry or dean or Dodd would be far less disliked.

But, thanks to their "we love this war!" platform, we're going to see 1 of 2 things happen:

1) Mitt/Rudy get destroyed in national election as they are championing a way that only 25% of country wants

2) Mitt/Rudy CHANGE POSITIONS again, and suddenly don't like the war anymore come wartime.

Of course, those are the 2 most likely courses of actions.  Maybe Bush will end the war in Oct 2008 (scale back significantly) as the pentagon announced earlier this year.

GOP Presidential Hopeful Mike Huckabee Says Next Terror Attack 'Postmarked Pakistan'
Sunday, November 25, 2007

COLUMBIA, S.C.  —  Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee carved out a corner of South Carolina's biggest annual sporting event Saturday, drawing a throng of supporters to a college football tailgate appearance with former pro wrestler "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

"We're going to have some fun throughout the campaign and I think that's what will help us to win when it's all over," said Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor who also has been endorsed by actor Chuck Norris.

Huckabee, speaking alongside his wife and former South Carolina Gov. David Beasley in a stadium parking lot before the University of South Carolina took on Clemson, touched briefly on foreign policy and taxes before posing for pictures and shaking hands with supporters.

Huckabee said he thinks the next terror attack on the U.S. will be "postmarked Pakistan" but said he believes that nation will continue to cooperate with American anti-terrorism efforts. Still, he added, "If there is an imminent threat to the American people, then I think it is the responsibility of a president of this country to do whatever he has to do to protect you, me and the rest of us standing here."

The Southern Baptist minister also took a swipe at GOP rival Mitt Romney when asked about the former Massachusetts governor's opposition to abortion.

"He's come along. Even if he's a little late, better late than never," said Huckabee.

Flair, known for his "Whooo!" yell, said Huckabee has the best vision for the country. "He likes to see people enjoy life," Flair said.

Huckabee brushed aside questions about which South Carolina team he was backing, preferring to focus on his Arkansas Razorbacks' upset win Friday over No. 1 Louisiana State University.

Referring to the Razorbacks' rallying cry, he said, "Just remember that the first part of 'Whooo, pig, sooie!' is 'Whooo!"'
