Title: A Message From "The Coach"
Post by: McFarland on November 24, 2007, 08:31:23 PM
I got this series of texts this evening:

"Hey Jeff, this is Joe Marino, how is everything?  As you know I deleted my account at Getbig and for the hell of it I checked the boards for the first time in almost a week and saw the hate in my last thread saying I was backing out of the show on count of my stepson (not by you).  Can you let the haters know that while I am taking care of my son, I am still doing the show and am going balls out "old school" style and at this point couldn't be more ready, this is my last show and the following week I'm getting married.

Thanks Jeff and please keep in touch,
Joe"

He'll be back under another name before year's end.

Hah, I can see this being one of those situations where he is very easily baited back to the board.  Sure, he's got his resolution to get married and be more of a family man but that will all fall over when he realises he simply must "own some kids on teh internet".

Update:

Nov 25, 2007  7:56AM
"Ha, just checked and as predicted, the haters came out.  Reassured that I have no desire to post there again.  Take care, Jeff!"

 ;D

Joe I really do hope you look good at your show.  I felt my reaction to your news was the best one for your own long-term good.  I really do feel your stepson will be fine; and even if his health concerns are as serious as you intimated, I still felt your dropping out of the show or giving it anything less than your best would serve neither one of you at all.

(Note the rest of you that I'm telling him this here rather than text because I'm more sure he'll read this than any text I send.   ;D  )

Kick some ass Joe.   8)

Meh. He seems/ed alright. However, I always thought that someone who had convictions a strong as he did, particularly the political, would base them on rational argument and/or critical thought. Guy sounded off like a newscaster reading the teleprompter, just vapid opinions with not a care to any reasoning.  :-\

Hmm. Having thrown a pretty strong salvo across Coach's bow, I wanted to to temper such sentiment by extending my best wishes for his upcoming competition. I know he has been training hard for this contest (I know, I know: It's not a sport  :D) and it means a lot to him. I don't want to spoil the occasion by trash talking him. However, having said that, even he knows in his heart of hearts that the Republicans are a seething cauldron of  hypocrites being prepared for Hell's opening course.   ;D  Good luck Joe. And have fun. Don't forget to have fun.

I just got a txt from Joe.  Says he is going through some really tough times and is very unsure about himself and life in general.  Apparently the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did not come through on helping him reach 2% BF.  And with all the latest polls showing Hillary Clinton as the presidential front runner, Joe is now on suicide watch.  I ask that you take a moment and remember Joe in your prayers tonight.

He looks like a 5'3 Derek Anthony in a diaper but his back is pretty lean. He still has dookie arms and delts though.

True. He's pretty lean. That still doesn't make up for the 12 inch pipes and toothpick legs.
He's already finished.

Should have took Milos advices.
Hes definately strong in his convictions.
Typical of his generation though.. they cling blindly and viciously to hearsay they were taught when they were young, and when they can't back up their beliefs, they get standoffish and angry.
Oh well.

Yes, typical angry Christian type.
When will they learn the true gods are destined to return with planet Nibiru as prophesied by the ancient Sumerians.

Son was in the hospital, "The Coach" made a prayer/good wish thread before he "left" Getbig for good.

Basically everyone's just counting down the days until "The Coach" comes out of internet retirement and starts disagreeing with Milos, talking trash about liberals and praising Jeebus again.

You mean he actually took his son to the hospital instead of relying solely on the lord? BLASPHEMY!!!!

Actually it was God's grace and compassion that carried his son to the hopital. Coach would have done it himself, but dieting for 2353465346 weeks on low carbs and posting 24-7 on Getbig takes it toll you know, even for a mighty God warrior like Coach.

It's entirely possible that the Coach's stepson drove himself to the hospital, being as how he's 20 years old.

he ain't Christian Scientist...is he?

What's his son's health got to do w/ posting on a msg board? Not to belittle his son's issue...just askin'.

I missed all that drama.

Coach started a thread asking for prayers for his stepson. Hedge moved the thread of the G&O board. Coach didn’t appreciate the thread being moved and started a new thread telling everyone that he asked Ron to delete his account because of it. Then he deleted his own account.

As you know at the request/suggestion of members, I move a lot of threads. I let Coaches prayer thread stay thinking I would give it a day or two before moving it to a more appropriate board.  Hedge wasn’t wrong in moving the thread. There is no line determining which threads stay and which get moved. It’s a judgment call. It’s never personal, we move threads because they are on the wrong board.

does seem like a silly way to leave, but maybe it was just the excuse he was looking for.

he'll probably be back, depending on how many 'u looked good bro' comments he gets after his contest is over.

Hey he's over-trained, over-dieted, getting ready for his wedding and hit with this news about his step-sons health. Give the guy some leeway.

I hope when he see's this thread he'll see the humor in some of these posts.

I have a lot of respect for Coach and hate to see him go.  I wish him and his family all the best.   :)

And I still want to see his damn contest pics, so someone better get a hold of them and post them!!

He will refuse to look at his computer screen if getbig is up.  Instead, he'll call McJeff and have the thread read to him!
