no but 5,500 sq. ft. is a VERY large home, he's doing very well having that much space in Vegas.
-
is that a lot ???
Yes, considering the average home is about 2400sq ft. And if it's in Vegas, he probably baught it for about $5-600,000 less than I did and I have about half the size >:(

How do you not know this?

Its Jason Cutler not "Jay Cutler"..
-

In Vegas it has to be your name or a trust. If you do the "phonetic" name match alot of options comes up so who knows it could be a mom/dad name first on the mortgage or his wife.

yup nice guy under his and wife name

oh...

No matter where you live, a 5,500 sq ft house is quite large. Cutler's house is very nice indeed, the way he likes it, and it should be, considering Jay makes a lot of money, is the king of the bodybuilding empire, and has a few lucrative contracts.

Oh, what a relief, I only paid $200K more for half the size :'(!!!!!!!
-
5,500 is a mediocre sized house. easily obtainable by a decently successful business man. all the houses on the street I grew up on are approx 3,000 sq ft and are by far considered 'big'
-
Also, take into consideration that the garage is also included in that 4800 sq ft, the average 2 car garage is around 600sqft. Still a decent size home.

Mediocre? The size of the house dosen't matter that much compared to the quality of the house. Where I live there are 5500 square foot houses that are 4 million dollars. Crafted with the best woods, and stones and custom made moldings. Culter house is beautiful. He could have easily made it like 12000 square feet for the same price. But quality is a different thing guys.

Jay Cutler is a very smart man, he has invested money in realestate and lot's of other things and that man makes a ton of coin. If you think Jay Cutler is just a bodybuilder your wrong. He is a solid business man and will continue make serious money after he retires.
-
Also, take into consideration that the garage is also included in that 4800 sq ft, the average 2 car garage is around 600sqft. Still a decent size home.
I think the 4,800 sq ft is only the first floor (which has 12 or 20 foot ceilings).
The garage is about 1,200 sq ft, which is where I believe the 5,500 sq ft number came about.
I've only seen photos of the home, but it is very beautiful.

easy i dont know what a square foot is, im european
it is 511 square meters, hth

From what I understand, he has amassed enough wealth to not have to work for the rest of his life. Of course, he'll be dead before he turns 50, so it's not really saying much :-\
Damn Advil >:(

Jay eats a lot, so he needs many bathrooms. And besides, I don't think his wife uses the same bathrooms. Someone eating 300 g of protein a day must have very smelly poo.

Close...they have a guesthouse which isn't attached to the main house. The garage also has an addition...
for those looking to see it, we did an Olympia series at Jays..check it out in the archives at Bodybuilding.com

Sounds like a nice house. Kudos for Jay for having the brains to invest.
How big is Ronnie's house ;D
-
ronnie has two secret rooms.
-
Ronnie spends all his money on cars. Jays got some nice cars too.
-
Jay's got a great house.
&feature=related
-
His house is showed on his new dvd 'from Jay to Z'
House is absolutely fabulous! Movie theater, water fall... there is everything in that house!
Don't be hating Ronnie and his house...guy probably just don't care about house as much as Jay. And I bet he hasn't spent all his money to cars. If you think how many years Ronnie has been on top you can imagine what an great amount of dollars he got in bank! I think he has even more than Jay...? And Ronnie has also bought a house and a car to his mom and probably to all other relatives!

Theres no denying Ronnie has a tonne of money, although his contracts will be getting smaller now that he is no longer Mr O and, i hate to say it, but is probably done as a pro bodybuilder. But we never know what Ronnie is capable of. I'm sure Ronnie made more than enough to retire on.
-
Protect your biggest investments by placing them into a trust.
The unfortunate thing is that, according to that listing, he made the purchase in January '07, so the home has probably lost 10% of its value since that time.
Gorgeous place, though - I will admit that his home theater is WAY better than I could afford to build. Must be nice to be Mr. O! :D

wow, water falls and a movie theater...and i bet it's on a ridge with a view! ::) ronnie should have acquired a few blocks of real estate with all his dough over the years. shawn has some old furniture to sell leftover from what Silvio didnt barter.
-
I must say its funny to me to see guys who live in their mom's basement saying cutler's home isnt anything special, didn't flex wheeler claim to have a 28000 sq ft home a few years ago?

Wheeler had some nice house at the time...don't know how it is these days because he probably isn't making much money anymore...? Dude also got over 10 cars back to good ol' days (at least he claimed to have!?).
By any standards Cutlers house is special - to almost anyone. At least to anyone on this board.

You could fit Cutler's house in mindspin's living room

What's your problem mother fucker? I bet your house is on the bottom of cleft without a view! ::)
And what comes to Ronnie... what kind of financial specialist are you? Real estate as an investment isn't the best possible way to put your money to work! How you know where Ronnie has invested all his money? Probably way better than to over-priced houses at the USA which are now loosing their value rapidly! If you are claiming he put all his money to cars then he must have paid little too much for his cars (I mean if he managed to spend all the money he made over the years to four cars and couple of spinning rims).

hahahhaa, you're wasting your time with these internet trillionaires playboy, these guys live in houses with 5,500 sq. ft. BATHROOMS. ::)

Thats a pretty good sized house. Especially for a couple with no kids. My uncle is in the same position with no kids and bought a huge house anyways, now half his wifes family has moved in.

Yeah that's realy amazing how everybody on these boards seems to make millions out of nothing... Even cops there are claimed to make hundreds of thousands a year... :-\
But I think Bluto asked if 5500 sq ft is big because he don't understand square feets... (unable to realize how many square meters that is).
-
... had some nice house at the time...don't know how it is these days because he probably isn't making much money anymore...?
It's good to have a nice home, but gotta pay that thing way down while the cash flow is huge, because there's no guarantee you'll be able to make that $7500/month payment for the next 30 years.
It happens all the time - a guy bringing home $20,000/month thinks the well will never run dry, so he spends accordingly instead of saving and investing the big money while it's coming in.
-
You could fit Cutler's house in mindspin's living room
Not quite. We just moved into a new house in July. It's 3,300 sqft. No guest house but it is in CA. I'm in the process of building a home movie theater now...can't wait until it's done.

Bingo! Having a fleet of leased cars & a $6,000-$7,000/mo mortgage don't mean jack. Just ask "Flex" Wheeler & MC Hammer...ha ha!

Real estate as an investment isn't the best possible way to put your money to work!
Real estate has always been a great investment. Sure, as in anything else there are winners and losers, but the reality is that they aren't making any more land. So, if you own property, then you own a limited commodity. Those of us thinking long term tend to like the prospects of owning real estate for the rest of our lives.

Exactly! Especially when you are an athlete (inc. bodybuilder) you should realize you are not making great income forever! If you are some CEO or whatever it then is at least a bit more safe to say you will have a job after 10 years from now but when you are an athlete you never know when your last competition will be... or if you are bodybuilder when your kidneys are going to blow out or you are going to crash your car to the wall... ::)
Should make some reasonable decisions but for some it's hard when you are young and want it all and want it now!
-

You're assuming Jay has a 30 year mortgage on that home? Considering how much money he makes now, I'd be willing to be the home is already paid for, if not, I bet it will be by the time he retires.

Yeah but you can double your money for example in stocks very fast if you know what you are doing but that's not happening in real estate...OK maybe in USA in past but not even there anymore ;)
Of course it is reasonable to own good house and live there happily but that ain't making you more mone constantly. I was there defending Ronnie and saying maybe his money is in somewhere else growing than in real estate... and maybe growing faster and better! (And I don't mean those 28'' rims)

Jay is considered (by those who know him) to be smart with his money. I think the discussion is more about the guys who tried to give people the idea that they had money by making outrageous purchases and leases that they really couldn't afford and then lost it all when the money stopped flowing in the way it had for them.
That is, they tried to look like Jay without having the financial means to sustain those lifestyles.

No no no, bro! I was talking in general! I'm sure Jay has paid that house in cash when he decided to buy it. But I'm sure there are many athletes that are not going to pay instantly their houses and cars or whatever - For example Flex which I pointed out with comments about blowing out kidneys or crashing your car....
And the same probably goes with other athletes also; the will to show takes over and you have to have all those toys and houses around you and you make unreasonable decisions. And if you are an athlete without education or any kind of other income then after you get hurted you got nothing with you could pay those mortages etc.
-

I don't care how much money a person earns, that's just not a good purchase.
$12,000 for a TV in your great room or home theater is another story. ;)
What is it with Blacks having to let people know how much they paid for their TVs? :-\

I think Dexter can afford 12K for TV
Definitely not good investment but dude probably can spent that money to TV if that is what he wants...
I'm also pretty sure Dex has some bucks for his retirement...?
-
When Jay moved to Vegas, you can get a 4000 to 5000 square foot home in Vegas for pretty cheap compared to the Los Angeles area. Even now, you can buy really nice big sized homes in Vegas for pretty cheap and if you can stand living in Vegas, it's a pretty good buy. For the price of a condo in California, you can get a 5 bedroom home in Vegas.

I think Dexter can afford 12K for TV
Definitely not good investment but dude probably can spent that money to TV if that is what he wants...
I'm also pretty sure Dex has some bucks for his retirement...?
how can you afford 12K for a TV when you're probably making 90-100K MAX a year?
-
When Jay moved to Vegas, you can get a 4000 to 5000 square foot home in Vegas for pretty cheap compared to the Los Angeles area. Even now, you can buy really nice big sized homes in Vegas for pretty cheap and if you can stand living in Vegas, it's a pretty good buy. For the price of a condo in California, you can get a 5 bedroom home in Vegas.
I want to move to Vegas! I would love to be jays neighbour and pimp him out... I would invite Ronnie to my house and play that hiphop shit so fucking loud when training at backyard that Jay would shit his pants... ;D

I think Dex is making way more than 100K a year! Not sure of course but how could he make so little - he is top bb and have won major contests and is doing every year great at the O and Arnold etc. Plus he is with Muscletech - isn't he?
-
But I think Bluto asked if 5500 sq ft is big because he don't understand square feets... (unable to realize how many square meters that is).
yes. and to get a discussion going. 5 pages later i can see that it worked ;)

Looked like a huge place to me in Flex last year ...

Didn't Ronnie get a degree in accounting?? he probably has most of his money in a cayman islands account where he pays no tax.
-
How do you not know this?
theres probably 30% of your members that also wouldnt have a clue what 5500ft is. im a practicing engineer and wouldnt have a clue in terms of eyeballing what 5500ft square is...and measurement is my field.
the rest of the world just dont use that stupid measurement system where a foot is 12 inches and a yard is ? 3 feet? (i mean, what the?!..and what about a mile?..who the heck came up with that one?.. what is it?...
seriously the metric system is so much better with all the 1s, 0s n such..lol..
everything is nice. actually the rest of the world goes to great lengths and costs to accommodate the US and any imperial measurement country..
-
Nasser lives in a 500 square foot shack :-\
Nasser believes in Iron, not money, like most weak human beings do.

I grew up using the metric system but now use the inches, yards, miles, etc. system in the US. After a while you get used to it.

We need the mile in order to be able to say things like "He hit that ball a country mile".
'Country kilometer' just doesn't play as well.
-
I don't care how much money a person earns, that's just not a good purchase.
$12,000 for a TV in your great room or home theater is another story. ;)
What is it with Blacks having to let people know how much they paid for their TVs? :-\
are transvestites a black thing?

Sounds to be you're ready to join up with TEAM NASSER, am I right?

A military guy once said to a group of us, "Look, all I care about is finding a warm, moist hole."

The drug market uses the metric system.
grams, kilograms, tons !
The metric system prevails!

tvs that first came out or maybe it was an elite home theatre brand like
proton, marantz, pioneer elite, ect.... still a bad investment. life span of a plasma is like 8
to 10 yrs.

You have to see that it's not the same when you buy a 12K TV than what it is when Dexter is going to buy one... He is making some serious money and probably can live for rest of his life without ever doing a "real work". For him spending 12K for TV is the same that it is to normal person to buy a can of tuna!
So could we stop speculating if it was a bad or good investment - there is no doubt that it was pretty bad 'investment' but I'm sure Dex can afford that without loosing his sleep.

You are clueless.
Guys like Dexter and Ronnie one day will regret spending all they did and living so lavishly. They should have learned from Yates to be more humble and save your money.

Are you seriously saying Ronnie spent all the money he made trough these years and got nothing left? Are you claiming that he will have to work as for example a police officer after his bb career so he could afford gasoline to his Hummer? Anyone saying that is so out-of-this-reality as anybody can possibly be! Is there anybody who can seriously agree with England_1 about that Ronnie will one day regret living so lavishly and spending all he made???
Oh boy...you are so clueless.

hahahahhaa, Dexter makes 90-100K a year TOPS, i wouldn't spend 12K on a TV if i was making millions per year let alone making the paltry amount Dexter makes, you're delusional if you think these guys are making great money.

Either this is a gimmik or a retard. Ronnie & Jay make about $1 million/yr taking all of their revenue streams into consideration (I'm being generous)...that's about $600,000 after taxes. It they're blowing their cash on depreciating assets like diamond watches, luxury cars, etc. & on top of that taking huge mortgage loans out, then they better hope to be able to sustain their revenue stream or it will all go away. It's that simple...

To be fair, I'm having a system installed in my family room which includes a 52" Samsung LCD 1080p HD, Denon receiver, universal remote, Velodyne subwoofer, Paradigm speakers, LCR reference speaker, etc. Total cost including labor...$10,421. That's about a third of the cost of the Full home theater going into the bonus room :-\
All paid for though...including the house. So if the well runs dry I still get to keep it all :D

See, that's where I see the big difference in how people spend their money. If playing the piano is your passion and it brings you true fulfillment, that's money well spent. But, if you spent $8k on a baby grand because you think it'll impress the neighbors, then I think you wasted your money.
BTW, French Roco Revival on anything less than a 10,000sqft home is probably overkill and tacky :D
-
wasn't cutler into Real Estate as well?

Every man deserves a lair to enjoy high def movies at ear damaging sound levels in a chair with comfort that defies logic.
A proper theater system is one thing I have no problem admitting I'm envious of.

lol. Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a total cheapskate...but, the things I'm passionate about, I try and splurge in. After all, that's what money is for right?

Agreed.
It's like when you were a child...some things are just worth the risk.
eg: sneaking out of the house at night to bang the hot chick in school is worth getting caught for.
Same thing when you grow up.
A proper entertainment center is worth the money.
First thing I did when I bought my first decent entertainment center was grab Predator and skip to the scene where Ventura dies, Mac grabs the gatling gun and they clear the forrest with bullets.
It is my firm belief that no man can claim the Y chromosome without the ability to enjoy 1,000's of gunshots in 60 seconds at 130+ decibels.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA!

I bet Craig's "house" costs more. ;)
