Im kind of bored with my regular routine.
Anyone have any brutal quad sessions that they would like to share. Im down for anything, supersets, drop sets, heavy volume, it doesnt matter.
I usually do front squats 4-5 sets of 4-6 reps, Leg Press 3 sets of 8-12, Then some Lunges 3 sets of 10-12.

giant set
leg press 15reps
hacksquat 12 reps
extentsions 15 reps without stopping repeat 3 times
its rough and you are done in like 15minutes

regular squats: warm up then 7 by 7 or 5 by 5
leg curls: 8 sets, start with the highest weight you can handle for 8 reps with a pause at the top, keep on dropping weight in subsequent sets but keep the reps in the 5-7 range
lounges: 2 sets, 25 steps for each leg (50 steps total)
note: you can throw in 3 sets of leg presses after the leg curls if you have enough energy, keep reps in the 20+ range
or, if you are really wired tonight, try these giant sets:
set 1, 4 rounds:
squat, 10, 8, 6, 4
hack squat 12 reps
leg curls 12 reps
standing calves, 12 reps
when done, do 4 set of squats for a single each (optional)
set 2, 3 rounds:
leg press, 12 reps
leg extensions, 12 reps
seated calves, 12 reps

half ass leg press 4 sets of 20 each leg
half ass machine leg press 4 sets of 20
half ass leg extensions 4 sets of 20
half ass lying hamstring curls 4 sets of 20
half ass seated hamstring curls 4 sets of 20
my kind of leg workout.

work up to a heavy triple on the squats, no less than 7 sets to get there not counting warming up with the bar.
after that, take your belt off and do 4 sets of 12 with ~60% of the weight you used.
if you can get much else done, i'd be surprised.

Do 22 rep sets, think of plats. thats what i did yesterday. No matter what eddie.

I do have a question for you. Do you get go results from front squats with the rep range you use? I tend to do a little higher reps but I was wondering if I ought to go up in weight and down in reps. My form seems to suffer when I go up in weight.

Well I never go above 8 reps with front squats.
The reason being is that your abs, traps and rhomboids do so much stabilizing during that movement that they fatigue quicker than your legs do, therefore ur form breaks down after 6 or 8 reps, which could lead to injury, so i never do high reps with front squats.

Thats some good weight on your squats tho, so u probably didnt need much else anyways.

belt?......If he's doing legs he should wear shorts or athletic pants and not pants with a belt.

hey, if you're aiming to train your legs, why not wear the belt? it's not knee wraps or a suit, the thing isn't pushing the weight for you, just keeping you stable to push more weight.
once i get around 80% of my 1RM on squats or deads, belt goes on.

have you ever gone for the 100 rep set of leg extensions-------do this first after warming up and continue with your workout after with whatever else you like to do and your legs will hurt with the pump you get

Then lunges until you can't walk.
Done.

it's an "outter quads" specialized training. It really brings out your sweep if you go "deep" enough.

I used to do serge nubret routine that would end up being about 100 reps for squats... Pretty brutal stuff. It had some other stuff attatched to it too but i cant remember.

This evening I started out with front squats instead of leg extensions, then did one-legged leg presses (hadn't done those in a while), then used the funky squat press machine (done those only once before), then did leg extensions. I pyramid up on each exercise but conclude with a lighter weight to get the form back. My right knee is currently pretty sore, so I can't wait to walk like I got shot in the legs tomorrow.

This is what i ended up doing 2nite for quads
Tri set ( 3 sets of 15 reps per exercise)
30 sec rest between tri sets and no rest between exercises
Close feet leg press
Machine Squat
Sissy Squat
Then I rest one minute and did this superset
Standing calf raises 3x15
Lunges 3x15 ( split squat, lunges, and reverse lunge)
Thats it about 20 minutes and i got a great pump, and worked hard.

i think just changing your rep range will be enough most the time,, when u go from 10 to15 usual reps on hacks to 30 plus, it knocks the fuck out of u
