did anybody else think that shawn sherk had a bit of a meltdown last night? i mean fuck, right after the fight he stormed into the ring, said bj needs to beat him to be the real champ, then said he had no respect for bj...by no means am i a bj fan, but fuck to call him out right after he won his fight, i thought it was a bit out of line...and oh yeah, did anybody else think sherk looked a bit deflated? i guess he won't be able to bulk up off of deca and fight at 155, he may be fucked...last time i checked ur body doesn't produce deca, shawn sherk needs to get the fuck over himself and stop acting like roger clemens and just admit he made a mistake, truth is, if he just apologized from the get go, we would have forgiven him

I agree with you about Sherk. He did come across as an asshole. By him doing that it will make his fight with BJ more interesting though. A little bad blood is good for a title fight.

Upon thinking about it more....
i think the whole "deadmeat" thing was staged. UFC tells Penn to call him out and tells Sherk to go up into the ring. It's what sells tickets.
Did you see any other UFC fighters in England really? HMMM...Sherk was there? I wonder why?
I wonder if he'll change his nickname from the Muscle Shark to something else? Every time someone states his nickname, it's like an embarrassing reminder that he got popped
-
yeah i think it was staged too thats how they do it in the ufc they want that bad blood stuff cause it sells tickets
still think sherk and penn should be a good fight, but im not sure i can take all the talk leading up to it they gonna milk that for months before it finally go down...
-
oh no doubt.
I just wonder how Sherk will perform being off gear... he's definitely got talent, but being on in a fight adds so much..

yes strength is a real big factor in his game, penn on the other hand has so much more

I got news for you guys. Sherk will be on as much gear as he was before, only this time there won't be any mistakes on passing the test. Hope that helps.
-
no.
yes.

yes.
they do? prove it

You think he would risk his career by being on and taking a chance dodging a test?

no doubt about it.
-
he's a jackass then
-
no doubt about it.
Don't they do out of competition tests as well?
Not saying he can't work his way around it if he really wants: GH, small doses, designer roids, ...

Nope. Just post fight.

I know he tested positive and that the LVGC had a bit of a weak case as there was a loss of custody on his sample (or so i have read)...
but i'm just not sure he actually "juiced." I mean the dude couldn't possibly afford to test every supplement he takes. I just remember a few years ago a bunch of australian athletes got popped because there were actual roids in their "wonder supplement"... mix that with the possiblility that he may be a genetic freak... who knows?
no one wastes as much money as he did in legal fees unless he's using designer gear (and he tested positive for nandrolone? which is a joke because it stays in your system for a year and a half?) or not juicing

Come on man. What fantasy land are you living in? Most of these guys are drug sponges. Pain killers, anabolic steroids, diuretics, GH, you name it.

my bad on the wrong authority...
and i know everyone is on everything... i guess i just wished they weren't sometimes. :'(

why? It makes them better & more aggressive fighters, thus putting on a show. What would you prefer watching: the juiced/cranked up Wandy from Pride, or the watered down version from the UFC?

"last time i checked the body does not produce deca".. he was busted for nandrolone.. that compound is produced in the human body by heavy training and exertion.. that is why you can have a 12:1 ratio of it in the test.... now that being said, i think he was using no doubt.. but, the case against him was weak.. i would like to know how advised him to take nandrolone.. being as how it can be detected for up to a year after use.. sherk, if your listening, use test suspension.. and taper.. you will pass.. ;) ;D

Nandrolone use is indirectly detectable in urine tests by testing for the presence of 19-norandrosterone, a metabolite of this molecule. The International Olympic Committee has set a limit of 2 ng per ml of urine as the upper limit, beyond which an athlete is suspected of doping.
"Urine analysis as a method of detecting nandrolone abuse has recently become somewhat controversial, following studies by the University of Aberdeen showing that the metabolite product can also show up in urine in quantities above the upper limit from a combination of high-protein diets utilising the legal nutritional supplement creatine and hard cardiovascular exercise. The reason for this unexpected result has not been determined. Another possible (though unlikely) reason for a false positive result is the consumption of beef from cattle treated with steroids including nandrolone (used in overturning the verdict against the bobsleigh racer, Lenny Paul). Heavy consumption of the essential amino acid lysine (as indicated in the treatment of cold sores) has also shown false positives in some and was cited by American Shotputter C.J. Hunter as the reason for his positive test. A final possible cause of incorrect urine test results is the presence of metabolites from other anabolic steroids. As a result of the numerous overturned verdicts, the testing procedure was reviewed by UK Sport [1] in 2000".
i guess if u ever get caught blame it on creatine and beef from cattle
