Do some research on it, check with dealers, experts and stuff. Then make an educated decision. (Getbug ain't teh place ;D )

And yes, having class improves others perception of one. In the long term, investing in class can pay off well 8)

Starks wants to buy a watch that will provide him some class
yet, most men with class wouldn't buy the kind of watch that he is looking to buy

Why buy something that expensive that you can find on ebay or an outlet mall for the 1/2 price?

clearly this is not my area, so I will ask

is there a watch that appreciates in value over the years?

Stark, assuming you're making a serious question, I'll answer it the best I can.

IMO, the kind of watch you attached to your post, the one you're inclined to buy looks old fashion and it goes well with older men, elder men.

For a guy that is young, into lifting weights and have a sense o fashion, design, hip style, that type of watch is a no-no in my book (again, that's JUST MY PERSONAL TASTE).

Having said that, you absolutely do not need to lose your pants, buying a watch that would be able to feed half of Somalia because of its price. I really don't go following established trade marks just for the sole sake of it. It's very dumb and very 'nouveau riche' for my taste!

There are A LOT OF BRANDS not of Rolex type that makes excelent, quality and lifetime watches for every ocasion. Citizen would be my first choice with that prerequisite in mind.

Look out for their ECO-DIRVE series, that uses up solar energy to keep functioning. A beautiful one would be the Calibre series 2100. I'l ltry to attach a pic. Choose one with a stainless steel wrist band. They are multiuse, since you can wear them on social ocasions, work commitments, dates, etc.

thank you very much Cris, I have a similar watch like this already, I was looking for a more classic watch for office use, anybody working in an office know the last thing you need is a heavy watch around your wrist, especially if mail is the prefered type of conversation.
But thank you very good post.

Get a Citizen Eco-drive.  Runs by solar power and never needs batteries.  Eli Manning endorses them, so you know they must be good.   :D  Actually, I got one for Christmas and it is great.

But I am not making any claims about class.  You however, feel the need for extraneous accoutrements in order to show yours yet doing so shows you have none.  I do concede that scum such as yourself will find this concept a tad tricky and that it will largely go over your head.

Agreed, I have a Citizen Eco-Drive 300m dive watch. It's a very prominent watch..very bold and sits high..I have it on a ss bracelet..I get lots of looks and comments on it. Wear it to the gym, social situations, very diverse look and feel

i didn't get ripped off i did my reseach before i bought that watch, had the diamonds verified for quality, as i had a 30 day return policy, so i bought the watch, took it in to get verified on the diamond count, and it all checked out, i actually got a good deal on that watch.

LOL, not anytime soon, but it's probably the most rugged survival watch you can buy, and I do tend to take strange vacations (panama, carribbean, cuba, mexico, etc.) so I never know what kind of crazy shit I'll run into :)   I'm definetly not taking any of my good/status watches to any place like that.

This watch is as rugged and has the same tritium but it is also non-magnetic so it won't set off any type of explosives from static electricity.  That watch there is all show, my watch is all GO.   Lasts forever.

Nobody has mentioned yet that Arnold is a watch fan...mainly ones in the tens of thousand price range e.g. top range Swiss automatics.

You're absolutely right!!! I have always paid attention to the watches he is always wearing, especially in his movies. He weared a particular one in COMMANDO; I guess it was a CITIZEN one, military looks. Anybody knows that model's watch? I always wnated to know.....the watch was rugged, yet drop dead beautiful......also, the watch he used to give as part of Arnold Classic's prize money - what watch is that? It looks wonderful......Cutler and Dexter got one, each. It seems to be a Swiss watch.

I bought a Citizen Titanium in 97 and it has been GREAT.

Just replaced it last year, not because anything was wrong, but because I wanted something updated.

This is the one that I got...

Who cares if no one believes you?

People spend $ on dumbshit.  I'm not exactly the type that runs out & tells my family what I spent on a watch.  I would feel foolish.  If they ask....I'll tell them.  But seriosuly, I've seen women spend alot of $ on shoes or purses.  To me, that could be foolish.

I actually do care if people don't believe me.  I wish more people on here would post proof of what they look like or of what they say they have.  Adds credibility to those you choose to converse with. Guess I've always been a sceptic of humans, 'So to speak'.

Breitling watches are cool.

Along with Tag Huer, kinda the upperclass watches now thanks to too many Rolex fakes and Hip-Hop people wearing them.

If you can afford it, a Cartier "Tank" watch.

If not, an understated Seiko or Bulova knock off.
