Well, the row is fine.  I too question the weight of the dumbbell.

Seems fine, especially with 250. Good lift.

Dumbbell does look pretty small for a 250 though :-\

haha i explained it in my log. There are LONGER dumbbells made with plates...this thing is one soliid piece of machined metal. That and the 225 are all one piece items. Brian had them machined as one offs... the whole weight portion of them are the sized of coffee cans and the handle is incorporated in the whole thing.   I'll take a picture of them next week..they're pretty fucking badass!

Well, it's a row...of sorts...but no real contraction is made. Kinda like a big cheat curl where you sorta bypass the muscle you should be nailing in order to heave big weight. Sorry.  :-\

Looks and SOUNDS like a good lift to me...Im of the thought with DB rows are performed like suspended GM's...whatever it takes to get the weight up!

yeah it don't get the contraction i do with sub 200lbs but my back and shoulders are sore as hell today...biceps too.

eventually a weight will become so heavy that good form is damn near impossible i'm told. But at least i feel it in the targeted areas. After hitting everything with 8 reps up to 225. I had to cheat with those.

Iv'e noticed that I don't get tired as quickly too lately... taking RESULTS and ETS everyday is doing wonders for my recovery both between sets and inside the gym! Last time I only got those numbers for sets of 6 and then 4.

get all i can while i can..eventually i'll be too old to get my ass out of bed.

Looks like a row but kicked out to the side as if to hit the rear delt more.

Still strong as hell but I imagine you would feel it more in the shoulder/trap.

I would say don't plant your right foot.  Keep the tip of your toes on the floor for balance then try that weight.  Looks like your cheating on the way up with leg power.  Still big weight though.

Hmm. I see what you're saying. I do the same thing with traps - just overload it with so much weight that a real contraction is not possible, but the load itself is almost the stimulation.

exactly...there's no way I  could hold 675 at the top with a shrug.. but your traps are still getting the hell pulled out of them.

haha yeah you could say that.. i dip it down with my shoulder to feel it stretch at the bottom and yank it up..and yeah i'm getting leg drive..and i keep the leg out there for balance. That fucker weighs as much as I do so it's like the feet of a back ho when it's dig'n in the dirt to hold it steady!  ;D

I need to find a way to get it out of the way though.. it's hard to do the row without running the longer weights into your leg.

i noticed that too..i'm going to have to keep my right arm tighter to my side like i do my left. I think it's from my odl bench press fuck up that I do that.

db rows are a strong movement for me - just last week i used similar technique on the 30pounders.

if only i could get past those 20 pounders for chest and i'd be huge.  :'(

wicked, when you say brian do you mean dobson?

the form is aight, not the most ideal, but considering the heavy weight your allowed a lil slacking on the form.. butthe part thats bugging me is at the very top, your not contracting at all! at least your getting the stretch at the bottom, but the contraction which IMO is the most important part of the lift is not being down...

ALSO, the 130lb at my gym look that same size... maybe you accidently multipled the 130lb roughly by 2 to change it to kg ???

they look way too small for 250lbs.

no way you could compress 250 pounds into that size, sorry
