Amanda Savell and Dave Jacobs were found dead around 3:30am in his residence. Early accounts are pointing to a murder/suicide but details are still being gathered as we speak.
This sends chills down my spine. My heart goes out to all the families.

It's very possible that he didn't rat. However there was talk of a book deal, I think.
MD is saying that Dave was possessive and it was a domestic relationship event that caused this. They already know this somehow. it could be. I'm just saying, I hope the TX investigators have the brains to look at who benefits from this guy not writing a book.

More news.... Amanda had not been heard from in days. Her father called Amanda's sister's boyfriend who went to Jacobs apartment and broke down the door. Both bodies were found inside. Amanda had been shot in the face at very close range. The couple had split up but then secretly gotten back together. One report states that they were even perhaps living together. apparently, amanda had decided to once again break it off with Jacobs. So far I've heard no reports of a mob hit ordered on Jacobs. it seems more a crime of passion. The bodies had been inside for at least the last 24 hours.
Everyone had told Amanda to get away from this asshole. Even the IFBB advised her about her association with him. J.M. Manion had even washed his hands of her. This jerk-off was poison for her but she stayed with him anyway. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE WOMEN??!!
Wait till Nancy Grace gets her fangs into this one. She's probably going to call for an end to bodybuilding.

Terrible news, I know Amanda, and this although horrible and a nightmare, is not completely unexpected. Horrible, horrible news. Awful.

It?s with great sadness and a heavy heart that I report on this news. IFBB Figure Pro Amanda Savell was found dead this morning along with Dave Jacobs in his residence. It appears to be a murder/suicide but the details are still being gathered. They are reported to have been found around 3:30am this morning. I?ll provide more news as it becomes available. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families. It sends chills down my spine and tears to my eyes to write this.

I just talked to a very reliable source in Texas that knew Amanda very well and is getting information direct from those involved in the case.
Nobody had heard from her for a few days so a friend went looking for her and could not find her anywhere. She went by Amanda's ex-boyfriends place, Dave Jacobs, and there were mail and newspapers in the yard so she called the police, they entered the home and found Dave Jacobs and Amanda Savell dead in the home of an apparent murder/suicide.
The two had a very rocky relationship and Amanda was very afraid of Jacobs who had repeatedly threatened her life if she were to become involved in another relationship with anyone. She had tried many times to break away from him and start her life over. She wanted to get back into competing again and start a fresh life but reportedly Jacobs continually threatened her life and the life of any man she may get involved with. She had expressed that she felt trapped and that if she left Dallas he would just hunt her down.
While details of her being shot in the face and so on have been reported here and there on the net, at this time the Police are still on scene completing their investigation and there are no details available that are confirm able at this point.

This is about a tragedy that happened to someone who had a huge heart and fell onto a wrong path. I'm not here to promote anything, especially over someone I knew and cared about. I included it because it is how the news went out. It's no different than someone saying on XYZ news station reports...
This is a tragic event and the IFBB lost one of it's top competitors.

The whole morning has been quite a tough one for many. Amanda was beautiful, caring and always nice. And if she had followed the advice of many, who told her to stay away from Dave. They did break up, but they got back together, then broke up, and got back together.
There will be a moment of silence at the NPC show in Dallas this weekend. Amanda was texting Monday, but by Tuesday morning, she had stopped. People were worred, by Wednesday, very worried. They went to the house, no one answered, they called the police. They couldnt enter a property just like that. By Thursday morning, it was a different story. Very tragic.
More information to come, from the family, to funeral arrangements. Her good friend Errica is flying back today to Dallas. Her sister Brandy, her parents have to deal with someone as wonderful as Amanda losing her life to someone who just couldn't handle things.
That is the work of a coward. Why?

The New York Times reported in April that information from the government’s investigation of Jacobs had led federal prosecutors to investigate Matt Lehr, an offensive lineman for the New Orleans Saints, on the suspicion that he distributed performance-enhancing drugs.
Lehr’s lawyer denied that his client ever sold steroids or human growth hormone and said Jacobs fabricated information about Lehr after he refused to pay Jacobs’s legal fees. Jacobs said he never asked Lehr for money.
Telephone and e-mail messages left for Jacobs’s lawyer were not immediately returned Thursday.

Convicted steroids dealer David Jacobs, who recently agreed to tell the NFL which football players received banned substances he manufactured, was found dead in his Plano home this morning.
The body of a woman identified as Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell, 30, and a gun were also found at the home.
Police received a missing-person call this morning shortly after midnight from the family of the dead woman, said Plano police spokesman Rick McDonald. The family said she might be at the house on Honey Creek.
Police arrived to found the two dead inside from apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities were not saying whether this was a murder-suicide.
"We're not speculating," Officer McDonald said. "It's a high-profile case. They're not going to leave anything unturned."
About 11:30 a.m., four men in ski masks and raid jackets with "police" on the back — indicating they may be undercover narcotics officers — arrived at the busy scene and entered the home with a cart to carry documents.
The Dallas Morning News spoke to Mr. Jacobs frequently and exchanged e-mails with him as recently as this weekend. He was interested in getting on with his life after accepting a plea deal for three years of probation on charges related to his steroids trafficking.
Mr. Jacobs said he wanted to rebuild his nutritional supplement business, but he was having trouble getting his old client base to work with him. He also was having financial problems, but the former Marine seemed to be in good spirits.
Art Atwood, a nationally noted bodybuilder and former close friend of Mr. Jacobs, is himself awaiting sentencing on charges related to steroids trafficking. He said Thursday such stresses and pressures are "a recipe for disaster."
He described Mr. Jacobs as a passionate man. "Whatever he did it was 100 percent. Full blaze on."
His attorney, Hank Hockeimer, said early Thursday he had not yet been briefed on the situation at the home.
On May 21, Mr. Jacobs met with NFL security officials to share information about steroids use and their football players.
Mr. Jacobs has publicly accused ex-Dallas Cowboys lineman Matt Lehr of buying large quantities of banned substances, but has never for the record named other football players who received the steroids he manufactured.
Mr. Hockeimer said this of the meeting at the time:
"The general topic was his knowledge of steroid and human growth hormone use by current and former players. They were thorough in their questioning. David provided them with documents corroborating what he was telling them."
Mr. Hockeimer would not say which players were discussed. But he said Mr. Jacobs provided documentary evidence of claims he was making.
At the time of Mr. Jacobs' alleged transactions with Mr. Lehr, the football player was playing for the Atlanta Falcons. He is now signed with the New Orleans Saints.
Mr. Lehr's attorney, Paul Coggins, has said prosecutors have informed him that Mr. Lehr will not be indicted in the Jacobs case.
Federal agents had been investigating Mr. Lehr for alleged distribution to other players, but have not commented on his status, other than to say the case is ongoing.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello at the time declined to comment on the meeting between Mr. Jacobs and league officials. He did say that the league was not paying Mr. Jacobs for his information.
Outside the Sherman federal courthouse, having just been sentenced on May 1, Mr. Jacobs said that he wanted to share his knowledge of testing loopholes and the prevalence of performance enhancing-drug use with the NFL to "clean up" the game.
Mr. Jacobs imported raw powder from China and made steroids, which he sold through a network that investigators believe could be one of the largest in the United States.
His six co-defendants were either personal trainers or amateur bodybuilders.

If he ratted out police officers and pro athletes, then yes, he did put himself in a helluva jam. People have a lot to lose, and many will do anything to prevent it.
Moral of the story - if it was murder - don't commit crimes, and if you do, don't rat when you get caught. And sadly, don't hang out with people who rat, or you might get caught up in their mess.

Former steroid dealer wanted to make a difference

David Jacobs, the Texas trainer found shot to death on Thursday, wanted to make a difference. But the pressure of making that difference had begun to paralyze him in recent weeks.
I first heard from Jacobs through his attorney in February. The 35-year-old had pleaded guilty to a single steroid possession count and was cooperating with federal prosecutors, hoping to get probation. Yet with his sentence uncertain, and his court date still months away, he was already thinking about a tell-all interview.
The reasons he chose ESPN matter less than the fact that he thought he had it all figured out. Once he told the feds about the steroids and growth hormone that he'd imported from China -- and the pro athletes he sold to -- he'd be free to hit the talk show circuit. Become a somebody instead of the guy who helped somebodys.
The ex-Marine, whose father was a gymnastics champion, almost had it right. His cooperation did get him probation. But the public part -- the part where his friends and former clients would know precisely what he said -- well, he wasn't quite ready for that.
Jacobs told me he had e-mails, phone texts, messages from his My Space Page, and cancelled bank checks that would implicate at least half-dozen big-name players, including two who served as his primary conduits to others. He publicly named the Saints' Matt Lehr as one, though Lehr's attorney has insisted his client is not a criminal target.
Once we sat down, Jacobs said, the whole thing would be very clear.
The plan was to do so shortly after his sentencing on May 1. But something spooked him. Two agents from NFL security knocked on his door that day. "They just showed up out of nowhere," he told me, unnerved.
Before he'd ramped up his distribution network and was hitting bodybuilding shows as a fan, Jacobs could walk down the street relatively unnoticed. But since then, he had ballooned into a varicose version of himself with a tattoo running up his right arm. It wasn't going to be so easy for him to walk down the street unnoticed anymore.
After the visit from the NFL, Jacobs began to think twice about going public. But even after he agreed to meet with the league's security agents, he hadn't fully backed away from wanting his moment in the spotlight.
We tentatively talked about me coming to Dallas to interview him on May 21, after the NFL agents left. As the date approached, however, so did the reality of what the day after might be like.
If Jacobs lived in New York, or even Duluth, things might have been different. But he lived in Plano, Texas. The ex-home of Jose Canseco. A town that was thrown onto the steroid map by the suicide of high school pitcher Taylor Hooton -- and remains there thanks to the crusading efforts of his father, Don.
Jacobs talked about no longer being comfortable in public and having to sell his house.
In a particularly chilling moment, he said: "The kinds of people I have information about, they're the kinds of people who can put a bullet in the back of my head." I had no idea if he was talking about pro athletes or other kinds of customers he had serviced. Or maybe he was just inflating his own sense of himself. There's no way to tell. All I knew was they were the words of a man who was reconsidering the price of making a difference.
Three days before I'd hoped to meet with him, I got this email from Cut260: "As of right now I am giving 100 percent and getting nothing in return and no guarantee of anything in the future. Everyone is getting their big stories, front-page headlines and bonuses but I am not getting anything in any way except a guarantee of thousands of people to be extremely pissed off at me for ruining the images of their favorite sport and heroes."
Needless to say, the meeting never happened.
It's unclear precisely what Jacobs gave the NFL. In a statement, league spokesman Greg Aiello said, "It is premature to comment on any specific player at this time. Anyone found to have violated our policies will be subject to discipline, including suspension."
It's also unclear what drove the events that left Jacobs shot to death beside the 30 year-old fitness model Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell, who is described as his on-again-off-again girlfriend. Dallas Police are reportedly investigating whether the deaths were a murder suicide, leaving the questions about who was murdered.
The records Jacobs left behind aren't the only measure of the man. He leaves behind a family and friends who are grieving right now. But they will be the yardstick that measures how much of a difference he'll make to the sports world he wanted to put on notice.

Amanda's only crime here was the reluctance to put as much distance between them as possible....they had a love/ hate relationship, and much like the Craig/ Kelly situation...an otherwise nice girl got caught up with the wrong guy and paid the price.

Sounds like there needs to be an independent investigation. If the police are investigating a link to themselves, I don't think they'd really look that hard.
I have some doubt that there is an NFL connection to the deaths. People are more accepting of NFL players using steroids (e.g., Merriman) than baseball players, track athletes, etc. for some reason. It wouldn't have been that big of a scandal consequently.

DALLAS, TX (2008-06-06) Plano Police Officer Andre Smith says detectives have part of the information they need to close the case of two bodies found inside a home on Honey Creek Lane early yesterday morning. He says a report from the Dallas County Medical Examiner shows that 35 year old, convicted steroids dealer David Jacobs shot himself, twice.
Smith: There were two self inflicted gunshot wounds to Jacobs: one to the abdomen, and the other to the head.
Officer Smith says detectives are waiting for the Medical Examiner's ruling on 30 year old Amanda Earhart-Savell Jacobs' girlfriend.
Smith: What I can tell you her is that there were multiple gunshot wounds to her.

Jacobs once wanted badly to tell his high-profile story. You could see it in interviews and read it between the lines. Most men in his perilous position would run from reporters and the soul-baring spotlight. Not Jacobs.
Once mastermind of one of the nation's largest steroids networks, he gave the NFL canceled checks and e-mails and text messages and names. He figured to "clean up" sports. Go national. Clear his conscience.
Before his death, ruled a suicide Friday by the Dallas County medical examiner, Jacobs kept a running dialogue with reporters from this newspaper. Last month, he reportedly scheduled a meeting with one from ESPN.com.
But something happened to dull Jacobs' chattiness. Could have been the NFL security detail that spooked him when it showed up at his door unannounced. Could have been the friends who suddenly distanced themselves.
Could have been the prospect of becoming a pariah in the town where he lived.
"If Jacobs lived in New York or even Duluth, Minn., things might have been different," wrote ESPN.com's Shaun Assael, author of Steroid Nation. "But he lived in Plano, Texas. ... A town that was thrown onto the steroid map by the suicide of high school pitcher Taylor Hooton – and remains there thanks to the crusading efforts of his father, Don."
Don Hooton, who started a foundation in his son's name to educate parents about the dangers of steroids, understands what that last paragraph means. After Taylor, depressed after going off steroids, took his own life, Don heard the denials.
"Public officials here wanted to think that our tragedy might have been an exception," Hooton said. "We're kidding ourselves in any community to think that.
"And here we had one of the largest dealers in the country right under our noses."
Or at least that's what the feds say about Jacobs. For his testimony, he got three years' probation last month.
He supposedly turned over damning information on a half-dozen well-known NFL players. The only player he named publicly was former Cowboy Matt Lehr, and Lehr's attorney says that, based on his conversations with authorities, his client won't be indicted.
But if what Jacobs alleged is true, the NFL has a BALCO case on its hands.
Consider the possibilities, and it hardly seems much of a stretch. If you think only bodybuilders and baseball stars and Olympians and racehorses have been on steroids, you haven't walked through an NFL locker room in the last 20 years.
Players are bigger and more ripped than ever. The beneficial aspects of steroids (increased ability to work out, thus building muscle mass) and at least one detrimental side effect (aggressive behavior) both would contribute to success in football. To think that at least some players in the most violent of professional sports wouldn't take advantage of such an edge is naïve, at best.
How come they rarely test positive then? For the same reasons that Olympians and others haven't, because of masking agents.
Jacobs reportedly had information about those agents, including finasteride, used in treatment for hair loss.
Frankly, Jacobs made lots of public allegations, which was part of the problem. Besides counting athletes as customers, he said he sold to police officers in Garland, Richardson, Dallas, Arlington and Plano. He even said a Plano cop stole $4,500 from him during a raid last year.
"One of the feds told me that [Jacobs] was talking a lot more than they wanted him to," Hooton said. "They weren't happy about that at all.
"The last thing they want to see is all this stuff on the evening news."
Sometime in the last month, the message must have gotten through to Jacobs. Three days before the ESPN interview, he canceled with an e-mail that read in part:
"Everyone's getting their big stories, front page headlines and bonuses but I am not getting anything in any way except a guarantee of thousands of people to be extremely pissed off at me for ruining the images of their favorite sport and heroes."
So now that Jacobs is dead, as well as his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell, what will be his legacy?
Will he become the reformed sinner who forced the NFL to undergo the same scrutiny that has scarred Major League Baseball?
Or will his allegations fade as the uncorroborated testimony of a dealer with delusions of celebrity?
Hard to say. But everything he once alleged so willingly must now be investigated, and not just for its lurid potential. Whether you believe Jacobs' sad story ended in murder-suicide or something even more sinister, it's a story, like Taylor Hooton's, that shouldn't die with him.

Gary and Kathy Earhart gathered with friends and family at their Plano, Tex. home Friday night, devastated parents trying to come to grips with the brutal, high-profile murder of their daughter, Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell.
With hushed voices, they recalled how Amanda, 30, was a gifted athlete and tennis star from an early age, who graduated from Texas Tech on a full tennis scholarship and who had built a successful career as a fitness industry athlete.
"Just a good person," Kathy Earhart said Friday night.
On Thursday morning, police found their daughter shot to death in the Plano home of convicted steroid dealer David Jacobs, who the Dallas County medical examiner said Friday committed suicide by firing bullets from a 40-caliber pistol into his abdomen and head. He is believed to have first turned the gun on Amanda, although authorities had not yet officially ruled on the cause of Earhart-Savell's death Friday night. Dallas television station WFAA reported, however, that the Plano police recovered 146 vials of steroids, 10 syringes, scales, bags with steroids and marijuana, several computers, a .22-caliber semiautomatic gun and ammunition from Jacobs’s home. The police also reportedly found 10 expended .40-caliber bullet casings, 6 expended bullet slugs and a bullet fragment. Jacobs had told authorities and reporters that he hadn't used steroids since April of 2007.
Her parents said they were certain about what happened, telling the Daily News that their daughter was the victim of a "murder-suicide."
"He killed our daughter," Kathy Earhart said, adding that the Earhart family is moving forward with a wrongful death lawsuit against David Jacobs' family. "In other words, ‘If I can't have you, nobody's gonna have you.' That's pretty much what it was, what he said, what he did. She was trying to get away then. And he wouldn't allow it."
Gary and Kathy Earhart had warned their daughter many times in the last few months: Stay away from David Jacobs.
"I had talked to her and told her (Jacobs) was a dead-end street and that the guy was no good and not to be with him," Gary Earhart told The News. "She said, ‘Well, Dad, everybody else has turned their back on him. I just can't do that.'"
Kathy Earhart added, "This was just a situation, (Jacobs) was a bad person. He just absolutely was bad to the bone."
Jacobs, 35, met with NFL security officials two weeks ago and reportedly provided names of people to whom he had supplied steroids.
Both Kathy and Gary Earhart said their daughter had been involved with Jacobs for the last six months or so, but that the couple had been "on again, off again" during that stretch. Contrary to reports, the couple had not been engaged, they said.

Authorities said Friday that a convicted steroids dealer who claimed to have sold drugs to pro football players killed himself, and the mother of a woman found dead in his home said she believes he killed her, too.
The Dallas County medical examiner ruled 35-year-old David Jacobs' shooting death a suicide, but police in the Dallas suburb of Plano aren't saying whether he shot his on-again, off-again girlfriend.
Both bodies were found in the master bedroom of Jacobs' Plano home. He was shot in the abdomen and head, and 30-year-old Amanda Earhart-Savell was shot several times. A .40-caliber Glock was found next to Jacobs, police said.
Earhart-Savell's mother said her daughter feared Jacobs.
"It was a murder-suicide, that's what," said Kathy Earhart, who also lives in Plano. "He was a dangerous man and she feared him. And he did what she thought he would do if he got to the point he was, which was distraught. He had no means of income, no nothing, so ..."
Police said until they receive the medical examiner's final report they can't explain how Jacobs killed himself.
"I don't know if he shot himself in the abdomen first and it was superficial. We just know that those were the two places he was shot," said Plano police spokesman Andrae Smith.
Jacobs was sentenced to three years probation and fined $25,000 on May 1 after pleading guilty last year in federal court in Dallas to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute anabolic steroids. He met twice with NFL security officials and gave them names of players he said bought steroids from him.
Jacobs' father, David Arthur Jacobs, has told The Dallas Morning News that he feared someone would hurt his son because of his steroid dealings. He didn't think his son was suicidal, and he stood by that when contacted by The Associated Press on Friday.
"I don't believe it, but it's neither here nor there. That's just my personal opinion," the elder Jacobs said from his home in suburban Atlanta. "That's all I've got to say at this point."
Kathy Earhart said her daughter told her recently that Jacobs held a gun to his head and threatened to pull the trigger.
"She (Earhart-Savell) actually felt, I think, that she could calm him down and help him because he had threatened suicide before," Earhart said, adding that she last saw her daughter Monday night at her Plano home. "She was trying to help — not to say that she didn't care for him — but toward the end, it was fear more than care."
The two regularly worked out in health clubs together, Kathy Earhart said. Jacobs was an amateur bodybuilder and Earhart-Savell was a "figure competitor" whose striking body graced the pages of fitness magazines, she said.
Earhart said she was hurt by some media reports that implied that her daughter was a bodybuilder. Earhart said that symmetry and beauty are important in figure competitions so "she wouldn't need to take steroids," because the drugs would have made her too big and bulky.
David Jacobs said he sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of performance-enhancing drugs to former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Matt Lehr in 2006 and 2007. Lehr has also played for Tampa Bay and Atlanta. Lehr's attorney has denied his client used banned substances after a four-game suspension in 2006.
The NFL said Thursday it is evaluating information provided by Jacobs.
Jacobs' attorney, Hank Hockeimer, didn't return a phone call and e-mail seeking comment Friday.

Police found the bodies of Ms. Earhart-Savell, 30, a professional fitness competitor, and Mr. Jacobs, 35, a former amateur bodybuilder, shot to death inside his home on Honey Creek Lane in Plano on Thursday morning.
Police received a missing-person call shortly after midnight Wednesday from Ms. Earhart-Savell's family, said Plano police spokesman Rick McDonald. The family said that they had not heard from her and that she might be at Mr. Jacobs' house.
Autopsies by the Dallas County medical examiner's office are pending.
Investigators would not say if it was a murder-suicide, but people who knew the pair say Mr. Jacobs was jealous and possessive of Ms. Earhart-Savell, a fitness magazine cover girl described by friends as bubbly, attractive and outgoing. Mr. Jacobs had previously told The Dallas Morning News that their almost yearlong relationship was marked by at least two breakups and reconciliations, centered on allegations of cheating on both sides.
"He was by all accounts a controlling person," said John Romano, senior editor for Muscular Development magazine who knew Mr. Jacobs. "Close friends told her to stay away from him."
When Mr. Jacobs' role as ringleader of one of the largest steroids networks in the U.S. made headlines in November, she publicly stood by him. And paid a price, both said in blog entries.
In February, she was not invited to the Arnold Classic, one of the world's most prestigious events of its kind. Bodybuilding enthusiasts decried the move online, saying it was because of her connection to Mr. Jacobs.
"She took second in the Arnold Classic last year and wasn't invited back this year. That's an incredible hypocrisy," said Mr. Romano, who believes steroids use is rampant in the bodybuilding community. "The guy who does the steroids can compete, but the person who dates the steroids dealer can't."
Mr. Jacobs drew criticism among online bloggers for recently sitting down with NFL investigators and giving them names of players to whom he said he sold performance-enhancing drugs, including ex-Cowboys lineman Matt Lehr. Mr. Jacobs also supplied the league with canceled checks, e-mails, text messages and other evidence, saying he wanted to "clean up" the sport.
Mr. Lehr's attorney has called Mr. Jacobs' information unreliable and said his client would not be indicted. Federal investigators will only say that their investigation continues.
Mr. Jacobs also said he sold steroids and growth hormone to other NFL players, but never named them publicly.
On the Web site for his now-defunct nutrition store in Plano, Mr. Jacobs described himself as a trainer who "offers guidance to many top athletes across the United States," including "Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons football players."
After his arrest, Mr. Jacobs freely told investigators about his Chinese connections for raw steroid powder, which he imported and used to cook steroids. One of his top middlemen sold about $30,000 a month of the drugs.
NFL investigation
Mr. Jacobs maintained until his death that federal authorities already had names of middlemen and NFL players as a result of their two-year investigation into his network. He said he confirmed names, but he did not willingly give up any names.
One of the areas of interest to the NFL was Mr. Jacobs' allegation that players use a hair-loss-prevention drug that can also act as a masking agent for steroid use.
He said that in 2006, Mr. Lehr used such a medication, and Mr. Jacobs said federal investigators confiscated a bottle of that medicine given to Mr. Jacobs by Mr. Lehr.
The label bore an NFL team logo, along with Mr. Lehr's name, Mr. Jacobs said.
The use of finasteride, sold under the trade names Propecia and Proscar, has been reviewed by the National Football League, but has not been banned. It is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which oversees international competition such as the Olympics.
It's unclear what the league will do with Mr. Jacobs' revelations.
"We are reviewing the information to determine if there is documented evidence establishing any violations of our program and will follow up on any other information that is provided," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Thursday. "It is premature to comment on any specific player at this time."
He said anyone found to have violated league policies would be disciplined. He also said Mr. Jacobs was never paid for his assistance.
Looking forward
The Dallas Morning News spoke to Mr. Jacobs frequently and exchanged e-mails with him as recently as last weekend. He was interested in getting on with his life after accepting a plea deal for three years of probation on charges related to his steroids trafficking.
Mr. Jacobs said he wanted to rebuild his nutritional supplement business, but was having trouble getting his old client base to work with him. He also was having financial problems, but the former Marine seemed to be in good spirits.
On May 21, he said he was moving forward with plans to speak to school students about the risks of steroids use. "They are being scheduled now, everyone is really supportive!" he wrote in an e-mail.
A few weeks ago, attempting to turn things around after his legal troubles ended, Mr. Jacobs was thrilled at the positive response to an online audio interview he gave. "God I really do need to write a book ..."
Reached at his home near Atlanta, Mr. Jacobs' father, David Arthur Jacobs, said he feared something bad would happen to his son in the wake of his steroids case.
"I've been waiting on this call," he said. "Any time you are involved with what he was involved in, there's a fear factor that someone will be so upset that they will do bodily harm."
He added that police did not tell him what they think happened.
Mr. Jacobs' father said he didn't talk to his son about his relationships, but in text messages he traded with him this week, he said nothing sounded amiss.
"He didn't sound suicidal," his father said. "He's a good kid, a smart kid, but he made some bad choices."
Art Atwood, a nationally noted bodybuilder and former close friend of Mr. Jacobs, is himself awaiting sentencing on charges related to steroids trafficking. He said Thursday that such stresses and pressures are "a recipe for disaster."
He described Mr. Jacobs as a passionate man. "Whatever he did it was 100 percent. Full blaze on."
He said that after he and Mr. Jacobs were busted for making and selling steroids a year ago, he avoided Mr. Jacobs, as did most people in the close-knit bodybuilding community. He said he regrets that.
"I forgave him," Mr. Atwood said. "I didn't think anything bad about David. But everyone just kind of disowned him. The first thing you think is what you could have done to prevent this. If I was a better person, I would have answered his phone calls."
Mr. Atwood said he believes that Mr. Jacobs' being publicly branded a criminal, losing his supplement business, having all his money go toward legal bills and his rocky relationship with Ms. Earhart-Savell was just too much pressure.
"If it is a murder-suicide, there was a whole bunch of things going on: anger, jealousy. It's a cocktail, an intensity, an obsession. It's a whole bunch of emotions packed into one act. If you put all the wrong emotions together, that's how something like this happens."
He said the couple met shortly after Mr. Jacobs was arrested in spring 2007. Mr. Atwood ran across Mr. Jacobs at a bodybuilding show and saw his former friend and business partner beaming about his nascent relationship.
"They had only been going out four weeks, and he had her name tattooed on his left wrist," Mr. Atwood said. "It's in Chinese. He said that 'if we ever break up, I'll just say it means honor, respect,' something like that. When I saw that, I thought, 'Whoa, she's in for a ride.'
"He was talking about having children with her. I didn't think Amanda would give up her career to date him and start a family, just like that. It didn't seem to add up right."
Mr. Jacobs and Ms. Earhart-Savell frequently blogged on bodybuilding sites and peppered their MySpace pages with notes and quotes. His MySpace profile features some lyrics from rapper 50 Cent's "Many Men (Wish Death)":

In all honesty, everyone has their own way of dealing with death, when a family member dies unexpectedly and violently. Obviously Amanda's mother knows this suit will never bring back Amanda; but it's something to place her grieveance. It's tragic and my condolence go to both families and all the friends who knew the Amanda and David.

There are members of the force who take it too. Hmmmm...didn't Ronnie graduate from criminology? Steroids is the not the problem, it's the users who misuse and over use it. Legalized or not; there will still be problems like this. A gun and bullets were recoverred in the scene; that's where concern should be. In this country someone who can be a danger to society, can be equiped with a firearm.

Sounds like there needs to be an independent investigation. If the police are investigating a link to themselves, I don't think they'd really look that hard.
I have some doubt that there is an NFL connection to the deaths. People are more accepting of NFL players using steroids (e.g., Merriman) than baseball players, track athletes, etc. for some reason. It wouldn't have been that big of a scandal consequently.
I think the NFL will tolerate usage as long as that is all it is(or that can be proven) but when it comes to dealing gear...My best guess is they wouldn't want any part of that hitting the media for any extended period of time...

Not necessarily ridiculous. His family may be the sole beneficiary of Dave Jacobs' estate and life insurance policy.

New revelations have arisen Monday in connection to the NFL's steroid investigation and the deaths of David Jacobs and Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell.
ESPN has reported that before Jacobs' death, the Plano steroids dealer named former Cowboy Ryan Fowler as a client. Fowler, who was a linebacker for the Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans, was already facing suspension and recently retired.
Also, late Monday afternoon, the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office ruled the death of Earhart-Savell a murder. Before that ruling, the examiner's office ruled Jacobs' death suicide.
Both Jacobs and Earhart-Savell were found dead from gunshot wounds in Jacobs' Plano home last week. Police revealed that both bodies were found in the master bedroom. They found a gun next to Jacobs' body. The gun was a Glock, .40 caliber, semi-automatic.
Plano police say their deaths are consistent with a case of murder-suicide.
An autopsy on Jacobs showed there were two self-inflicted gunshot wounds — one to the abdomen and the other to the head.
Court documents show that police found 10 expended bullet casings, 6 expended slugs, and 1 bullet fragment inside Jacob's house.
Jacobs, 35, admitted selling steroids to professional football players. He recently met with NFL investigators and gave them names. According to court documents, it looks like he didn't give up his operation of manufacturing steroids.
A return on a Plano police search warrant shows what else officers found in Jacobs' house: 146 vials of steroids, 10 syringes, scales, bags with steroids and marijuana, a computer, and a .22 semi-automatic gun with ammunition were all taken as evidence.
Jacobs recently vacated his Plano business, known as the Supplement Outlet. A sign on the front says that the business was closed and moved out because of non-payment of rent.

The problem here is the bullet in Dave's belly.
Many people believe that a marine choosing to kill himself wouldn't shoot himself in this most painful place, before shooting himself in the head. It is quite a stretch, and so far, we haven't been told by police that he shot himself in belly (or have we?)
Maybe she did it. perfectly reasonable. maybe someone else. maybe dave.
There seems to possibly be some concerted effort, from minute one, to paint her as 'no way possible' she shot him.
THAT is where the lack of cred in the official story lies. Maybe Dave did shoot himself twice. Problem is, most BBing reporting ruled that out on minute one.

Before he killed himself and his girlfriend was shot dead last week, convicted Plano steroids trafficker David Jacobs told The Dallas Morning News that he supplied performance-enhancing drugs to a Cowboys player before and after the 2006 season.
In several conversations since January with reporters at The News, Mr. Jacobs described how he prepared spreadsheets detailing a regimen for special teams player Ryan Fowler. It has previously been reported that Mr. Jacobs told federal investigators he sold to offensive lineman Matt Lehr after he left the Cowboys.
Mr. Jacobs, 35, was found dead Thursday at his Plano home. An autopsy revealed he committed suicide in the same room where his ex-girlfriend, 30-year-old Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell, was shot several times. Her death was ruled a homicide Monday. Friends said Mr. Jacobs was extremely jealous and was upset that she had been seeing other men.
A day after the bodies were found, the NFL wrote Mr. Fowler a letter telling him he faces suspension for violation of the league's anabolic steroid policy. According to his attorney, the letter said there was credible evidence that Mr. Fowler "purchased, used or supplied" banned substances.
The existence of the letter was first reported Monday by ESPN.
"I suspect Jacobs said something which the NFL decided to use to threaten my client," Peter Ginsberg, Mr. Fowler's lawyer, said Monday. The league has given "absolutely no justification" for its action, he said.
"Without any corroboration the NFL is threatening to jeopardize my client's career," Mr. Ginsberg said.
He said he has asked the league for substantiation and it has not responded.
The NFL, Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans, where Mr. Fowler now plays, declined to comment.
Mr. Jacobs spoke to The News about his dealings with Mr. Fowler with the understanding that some details not be immediately published. After his death and after Mr. Fowler's attorney linked the league's action to Mr. Jacobs, The News decided to make some of the information public.
Contract boost
Mr. Jacobs said that with his help, Mr. Fowler, who played in Dallas from 2004 to 2006, went from making $400,000 as a Cowboy to signing a four-year, $11.5 million contract with the Titans, where he was a starting linebacker last season.
"After he got his big contract, he came back, knocked on my door and hugged me," Mr. Jacobs said. "He said, thanks, I just got $12 million."
Mr. Jacobs also divulged this information to federal prosecutors over the last year.
In addition, he turned over text messages, e-mails and other evidence of his dealings with Mr. Fowler and other players to the NFL in recent weeks in an attempt to "clean up" the game.
Earlier this year, Mr. Jacobs said he had sold large amounts of steroids and HGH to another ex-Cowboys player, Matt Lehr, now with the New Orleans Saints.
He said at the time that he was going public because of statements Mr. Lehr's attorney, Paul Coggins, had made questioning his credibility. Mr. Coggins also has said prosecutors told him Mr. Lehr would not be indicted.
Federal officials will only say their steroids investigations are ongoing. Neither Mr. Fowler nor Mr. Lehr has been indicted for any crime.
Police said they found numerous vials and containers of steroids in Mr. Jacobs' home after the deaths Thursday. Mr. Jacobs had said he was no longer using or selling steroids since his operation was dismantled last spring.
Ready to talk
Mr. Jacobs previously told The News he did not want to publicly implicate Mr. Fowler, who he said was a "nice guy." But he spoke about their dealings extensively with federal authorities after agents shut down his steroids network in spring 2007.
"In conversations with Ryan in private, he's talking about how he felt bad," Mr. Jacobs told The News earlier this year. "He didn't know if it was fair [to take steroids]. Then, when he talked to his buddies ... he found out they were all doing it, so he didn't feel bad anymore."
Mr. Jacobs said he met Mr. Fowler through a Lewisville amateur bodybuilder, Bob Johnson, before Cowboys training camp in 2006.
Mr. Johnson confirmed that. "He just wanted some vitamins," Mr. Johnson said earlier this year. He described Mr. Jacobs as being "sharp as a razor" about nutrition and training.
Mr. Johnson said Mr. Fowler was "real adamant" about being careful not to take anything illegal.
Contacted Monday night, Mr. Johnson said, "I don't believe anything Jacobs said. He died the way he lived his life – always taking somebody down with him."
Mr. Johnson said Mr. Fowler, who was in the last year of his Dallas contract at the time Mr. Johnson put him in contact with Mr. Jacobs, wanted to improve his play so he could get a better contract.
According to Mr. Jacobs, he first met with Mr. Fowler at the player's Lewisville home before the Cowboys opened training camp in 2006.
As they were getting to know each other, Mr. Fowler mentioned that he knew Mr. Lehr. Mr. Jacobs said he pulled out his cellphone and dialed Mr. Lehr in Georgia. He put the phone on speaker, and Mr. Lehr told his former Cowboy teammate how much Mr. Jacobs had helped him.
"I worked with him for quite a few months," Mr. Jacobs said.
Mr. Jacobs said that he and Mr. Fowler didn't work out together. "Mainly we spoke on the phone and via e-mail." Mr. Jacobs said he also "made Fowler take antioxidants and multivitamins."
Mr. Jacobs said that also helped Mr. Fowler heal a post-season shoulder injury.
"Man, I got to get this fixed," Mr. Jacobs remembered Mr. Fowler telling him. "I did for him exactly what I did for myself," Mr. Jacobs said of the regimen he prescribed.
Last year, while a Titan, Mr. Fowler suffered another shoulder injury that required surgery.
The last transaction with Mr. Fowler came after he had gone to the Titans, Mr. Jacobs said.
After he received a sentence of three years' probation May 1 for running what has been described as one of the largest steroids networks in the U.S., Mr. Jacobs told reporters at the courthouse that he wanted to cooperate with the NFL to clear his conscience.
"I just want to make things right," he said. "I got into this to help people, and I want to finish it helping people."

I'm now more curious to know more about Amanda. It's very tragic to what happenned to her, and what her family is going through. However, there seems to be something that she's not innocent about that other people are afraid to speak of. I remember reading a post about Amanda being a "snitch" but it was deleted and diapeared. I guess unlike David, respect the dead now; but we wll hear and read more of her misdemeanors, later. If her family is seeking suit for wrongful death, I imagine Amanda would have a similar demeanor alive.....I'd rather hear read about about her seedy side. It'll make better sence as to why she returned to David.
People see how beautiful she is, in all the postings online, and wonder why she would end up with a guy like David. My answer to that is she started competing in women's bodybuilding (and not women's natural bodybuilding). She's a very determined and ambitous individual, and the kind who will not allow anything to get her way; or use whatever it is to help get to her goals; like any ambitous competitor.

But if he shot himself in the stomach with that "reason" of "proving his love to her", then that doesn't explain him shooting her.
That leads me to believe, that after he beat her and she locked herself in the bedroom, she grabbed the gun from the bedroom (where most keep their gun) to protect herself. She was scared... He kicked in the door, she shot him in the stomach (being so upset she probably was so scared she didnt even realize where she was shooting him). He then got the gun from her, shot her and then shot himself.

Not saying this is what happened..but I wouldn't put it past him. he came on these boards and was ADAMANt thathe never ratted on anyone, yet we all know he ratted on several people. I agree with Mercedes' 1st scenario. Was she found to have been beaten prior to being shot? It would definitely make sense if so. She shot him to protect herself, he was able to get the gun, kill her, realize he just killed her and then killed himself (maybe due seeing what he did, or maybe just not to have to deal or be tried for what he did. Is there a death penalty in TX?).

which is exactly the type of shit I would put in someones house who was convicted of drug dealing and you wanted to get public opinion that you really are a monster...If this was a hit, the weed, coke and gear were most likely placed there...Its just way to much stuff to be found for someone who was basically fearing for his life...

I agree with Mercedes' 1st scenario. Was she found to have been beaten prior to being shot? It would definitely make sense if so. She shot him to protect herself, he was able to get the gun, kill her, realize he just killed her and then killed himself (maybe due seeing what he did, or maybe just not to have to deal or be tried for what he did. Is there a death penalty in TX?).

Let me let you in on alittle secret to all you women out there that either use male hormones or have used male hormones...As soon as a jury hears about a female using male hormones, you can just imagine what a defense attorny would do with such information...
Males using hormones is bad enough in the media and women who use hormones in basically an untouched topic in all of middle america...But that day is coming sooner then we think...Its just a matter of time...
When they drop a bomb on the jury that the women Killed had a test level higher then 98% of the male population on the planet, it would really be hard for a jury to see this person as a defenseless women...And some might even believe that with high test levels in the system, she really isn't even a women anymore...

1. If Jacobs shot himself in the stomach, as said, I can only think of one (crazy) thought to do it. "To prove to her he loves her and would take the most painful bullet for her". Shooting yourself in your stomach is no way to kill yourself.
But if he shot himself in the stomach with that "reason" of "proving his love to her", then that doesn't explain him shooting her.
That leads me to believe, that after he beat her and she locked herself in the bedroom, she grabbed the gun from the bedroom (where most keep their gun) to protect herself. She was scared... He kicked in the door, she shot him in the stomach (being so upset she probably was so scared she didnt even realize where she was shooting him). He then got the gun from her, shot her and then shot himself.
2. Or he shot himself in the stomach for the same reason mentioned above, then felt how much it hurt and felt he was dying, being a coward he didn't want to die alone and being obsessed he didn't want to be without her, so he killed her and then killed himself.
These are the only 2 "logical" scenarios that I can come up with. Nr. 1 is the scenario that makes ANY sense (in the sickest way).

So, what you're saying here is (and forgive me if I'm misinterpretting your post) that if or because she took hormones...it makes her life not important enough for a murderer to stand trial and be sentenced accordingly (ie: death penalty if used in that state), as another woman who may not have used hormones? Killing a female statistically receives far less punishment that killing a male. That's just looking at race and gender of victim, theres more stats showing who/what the victim is *unequivocally links to punishment severity* most times, no matter what anyone thinks - facts are facts and all stats from numerous groups prove that undeniably. Victims are not all equal in justice, far from it.

Honestly, not to flame - but truth would not be the point in court, it would be the story put forward that would be.
I am far from saying I think that is correct, especially me. I'm adult, black, female, non-American, unmarried - all stats indicate if I was murdered on American soil my killer would most likely receive minimal sentencing at best. Those are the stats, google them if you doubt me, who and what the victim is plays in massively in sentencing - which would be heavily on Jacobs side
Complety unjust yes, but it is a sheer fact.
