Whatever....I'm not even going to bother.
-
Bush didn't even want to do Afghanistan. He wanted to just go straight for Iraq just like the plans they had even before he was president. That really should piss off guys putting their lives on the line for this bullshit. It should also really make people ask WTF at a level they start to question everything.... like 9/11. ah but should...
-
Whatever....I'm not even going to bother.
Don't.
-
Yeah...Bush knew we were going to get hit on 911 and really just would have prefered to skip Afghanistan. Where do u guys copme up with this stuff.. U are paranoid beyond belief.
Neuro....i would but I have already...until u guys show and shred of what ur talking about beyond some article off the web...I'll listen and debate...but I need to stop. I'll say this...raise ur hand if u've been to Afghanistan............. ........................ ........................ ........................ ......oh wait.
-
Yeah...Bush knew we were going to get hit on 911
You are correct.
-
240!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Its Afghanistan.....the damm taliban tried....tried to launch a major offensive to retake Kandhar and cause trouble around Kabul...we crushed them. It always heats up in the summer...always.
-
Afghanistan is spelled Iraq now? News to me! ::)

hahaha... Are you saying I'm wrong. No plan for Iraq before 9/11? Better make sure bro.
If this isn't good enough, there's more info that says so.

Oh dear... The revelations are pooring in for poor HH6 today... Don't melt bro, just convert :)
-
You are correct.
LOLOLOLOL... ;D

Dude we have a plan to invade ur bedroom....that plan had been reworked and refined since 1994..yeah I know all about it...again blinding flash of the obvious....I'm blown away.
-

that's not going to work this time bro... we don't plan to the extent where we hold secret meetings and interview for new leaders complete with making plans for the oil and yes, they did. ;) want more, just say so. have to find it but I'm not lying. There is testimony on exactly this.
-
the denial is hilarious :D

Neuro...things always get bad in the summer there. The Taliban has made some gains and is trying to do more as the AQ experts are leaving Iraq for what they hope are greener pastures. First we have enough troops, trigger pullers anyway. We could use more support from our so called allies. There are alot of troops that don't conduct combat ops. The terrain is difficult and u don't get major pitched battles, even on the small scale of Iraq. We're seeing more IED's. But it will tapper off by Sept/Oct..and if it does not, it will give us a better opportunity to go after them.
Um Hugo go ahead show me....but shit from CT sites and Prison planet won't work...oh and I don't really care anyway. Bush wanted to go after Saddam....the Neo's had it as part of their agenda...yeah ok got it. It bothers u that I don't care.

The surge was in Iraq not Afghanistan.
Look across the boarder of you want to see the problems in Afghanistan. The Taliban in Northern Pakistan have become the De Facto government. This has nothing to do with troop levels of the US and instead says quite a lot about Pakistan.
But you guys want to blame Bush and thats fine NOTHING will convince you otherwise.

did u read the post?
-
i guess my question is whether the job in afghanistan could be completed IF our forces were not stretched so thin from Bush's War in iraq ?
btw, what the fvck prison planet ?
NT
Its a great question....we can only send certain units there. U won't find the 25th, 4th ID, 3rd ID, 2nd ACR/3rd ACR any of the Striker Bde's. The Marines go 82nd/173rd/10th mountain/101st...these guys continually rotate through. We have plenty of SF there. There are SOF units from countries I've never heard of....we have plenty of folks but the Germans and French don't conduct combat ops. The koreans are there as well....but non combat rolls. I think alot of the problem is Pakistan....u can't roll across the border and go after the Taliban. The money guys are over there and unlike Iraq, where we can go after the money guys, we just don't go after them in Pakistan. The Country really sucks, mountainous, air can't go everywhere. Honestly we used to ask ourselves why anybody ever stopped here.
-
Neuro, the deaths in Afghanistan do not count. Only the ones in Iraq count.
-
Afghanistan...add that to ur list of places u know nothing about.
-
Nothing to do with Bush anymore.
We pledged to world communities that we would fight terrorism, the objective is to destroy rogue militias and let those people in those regions have their freedoms back. Most places we have dropped a single bomb, and restored order.

Right.... ::)

You missed my point. The reason for the increased violence is the complete surrender of the Pakistan Government to the Talliban in Northern Pakistan..
It has little to do with the American troop levels in Afghanistan.
America could double its troop levels in Afghanistan but until the northern frontier in Pakistan is dealt with the problems with the Taliban will remain since most of the fighting now is from incursions from Pakistan.and until America gets Pakistan to allow American intervention in Pakistan things will get worse.

oh crap ::) We all know about the situation in Pakistan! Do a search and you'll see I've updated on it here and others probably have too. "If we want to blame Bush?" Oh you mean like when the fuckheads gave them free flight to Pakistan to begin with ::) Yea, I think I can blame Bush Inc. on that ;)
-
I was talking about the article posted. The link was the surge to Afghanistan
The Blame Bush campaign never misses an opportunity. So when its not about the surge its about letting Bin Laden into Pakistan. Maybe your toast was burned and you would want to blame bush on this too.
Your right many articles have been written on why this happened, but the main reason I see is that Pakistan allowed him and Mulah Omar into their country. They walked into Pakistan through a road that was supposed guarded by the Pakistanis.

less troop deaths in iraq at the expense of our troops in afghanistan. i believe our afghan troops are looking for some guy named Bin Laden. ???
Bin Laden is dead. Hope this helps.
-

you're not going to get away so easy when you have people here that have followed news day by day year by year. The region they walked into (free pass by us) was/is for all practical purposes out of control by the Pakistani gov. To change that would probably mean civil war.
-
Bin Laden is dead. Hope this helps.
not much help with all them darn look-a-likes :D
-
HH6, i'm perplexed over our military objective in Afghanistan. is it AQ, Bin Laden or the Taliban ?
would additional fighting troops aid in the objective ? if so, is Bush's War hurting our efforts ?
NT
AQ pretty much pulled out of Afganistan and went to Iraq. Its very difficult to fight there. There aren't very many big cities...the locals hate everybody so if ur a foreign fighter, u stick out. Afgani's are very tribal and all about the buck, so we pay em more and they'll turn in the AQ guys. More troops won't help, Nato has plenty but those that are there need to fight. Honestly if Pakistan did more , this would be over quicker but it is in Pakistan's best interest to keep a destabilized Afghanistan. Thats something u won't hear from us or them but its what the Afghani government believes and what we do as well. If Afghanistan was stable, all the nuts in the border region would have other places to direct their anger.
-
Well it would be an Afghanistan that can defend itself. They aren't going to threatened by invasion so it would be domestic security inside their border. Its a much easier proposition in Iraq then in Afghanistan. The locals are tribal and don't really care what happens much beyond their villages. There is no economy except guns and drugs. Growing food does not pay as well as poppies. We can stabilize it, and we have, but their army will have to take the brunt of the work. Its hard to grow a sense of nationalism inside a countrry thats largely tribal. Pulling out is not anm option because the country will revert back to a terror breeding ground.
-
The place sucks....really its two wars. Troop levels are not the answer. Unlike Iraq, there are no doctors, engineers, scientists to help rebuild the country. These kinds of people don't exist. We are better off keeping them in a 3rd world status and just feeding em.
-

We haven't stabilized shit in Afghanistan. The place is worse than when we left it. The Taliban has regrouped and in most respects is stronger now than it ever was. The poppy production has been at record levels for years now. But that's probably exactly what our government and CIA wants.

That's b/c Bush redirected US assets from the AFghan struggle and put them into Iraq--a country absent from our war against terrorists.
Bush intentionally undercut the Afghanistan war effort to attack Iraq. Aghanistan is where the terrorists are...not Iraq:
The US military considers Afghanistan the biggest front in the battle with terrorists.
Joe Biden said on Meet the Press that "I asked General Petraeus and I asked Ambassador Crocker, before my committee when they're here, "If you have a choice only to eliminate al-Qaeda one place, Afghanistan or Iraq, which do you choose?" Both of them said, obviously, Afghanistan, that's where they live, number one." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25313596/page/4/

Most Al Qaeda and Talibam are in Northern Pakistan,
Until Pakistan deals with the problem, Afghanistan will not improve.
Why do you think special ops are going there and there have been more missle attacks into Pakistan.
There real crappy part of all of this is that Pakistan has nuclear weapons, I would put Pakistan as a bigger threat to Us relations then Iraq.
However they don't plan on nuking the middle east, unlike Iran.
By the way Hugo, Iran has announced that Bahrain is a province of theirs and they want it back.
Sometimes things aren't only about Israel, and Zionism

No wonder America has so much fire power there.

I think the only good thing to come out of Pakistan is the proof that Mutual Assured Destruction works.
