I will be the first to admit that the Lesnar Herring fight was about at one sided a fight as I have ever seen. Brock totally had his way with him. But he showed such a lack of class throughout the entire fight. He actually pushed Herring after the bell to end the 2nd round then laughed at him at the end of the third, then went on to give that idiot speech. I personally lost a lot of respect for him as a person. On the same note, I gained a lot of respect for him as a fighter.

I think he acted like that, because of how excited he was with his victory! Yeah, he over reacted but remember, he was in the WWE for a long time and that is how they act. Man, that first punch and football tackle was amazing! The first thing I thought was WOW, that is one big mofo! I cant see someone much smaller like Randy Cotoure standing up to that dude! His sheer massiveness along with his wresting will allow him to just smother opponents the entire match. Crazy Horse is a very big man, but couldn't even move, Brock controlled him the entire 3 rounds.

I was going to start a thread on this exact topic but you beat me to it. Man what a fucking ass!! He was extremely obnoxious in victory and I think he probably lost a lot of fans outside of his own hometown. It stands in such stark contrast to the class of GSP and Kenny Florian.
He did put a fucking BEATING on Herring though. Lesnar is a BEAST.

The last few seconds Brock rode him like a donkey and when they stood up Brock pointed at him and laughed in his face.
Insult to injury, the man is a beast and only his third fight.

Maybe it has a lot to do with the exhibitionism of the sport he came from, pro wrestling, maybe he was stoked after dominating Heath, but I would have been infinitely more impressed with him if he had shown the type of class that Florian and GSP showed.
He showed a lot of improvement, A LOT of improvement. He showed much more potent striking in only his very first punch, and I for one almost thought that Herring was actually going to fly out of the ring like a bad boxing movie or a cartoon, just for a second, yeah... he hits that hard. Then Herring got to look up from the punch to see Lesnar running toward him with HIS HEAD LOWERED like a damn rhino at him, and had to almost piss his pants. I knew the fight was over right them.
Brock took him down at will. Double leg, single leg, whatever he felt like. His jujitsu needs a lot of work. He could have actually finished the fight if he knew how to get hooks in and flatten someone out. The problem there is that his arm might actually be too big to fit under someones chin to get a choke.
All in all, I was very impressed with his performance and think he will become a huge force very quickly. Now if only Sable can get him to be a little more humble in victory and not taunt everyone.

I just feel like the days of that kind of bullshit are over. Tito Ortiz and Phil Baroni are relics, and their obnoxious victory dances and arrogance just isn't really accepted anymore. I like the way MMA has become a classy sport. Look at GSP, Anderson Silva, Fedor, Rich Franklin, KenFlo, Huerta, these guys always show so much respect for their opponents when the fight is done.
Heath Herring has huge balls to have finished that fight. Most fighters would have thrown in the towel. He was getting CRUSHED. I honestly think he must be in the hospital today. But Lesnar should have respected him for going the distance. Instead he showed zero class.

hahaha.. wrestling promos were the greatest tirades of shit talking ever to hit television. Not a classy thing to bring to UFC bug HUGELY entertaining. "The Rock" had to have the best.
Congrats to Lesnar.. as a wrestling and ufcf fan I'm happy to hear this.

i wasn't too surprised by Lesnars speed. Even in the WWE he was remarkably quick and agile for someone his size. I was impressed by his cardio - I guess all that conditioning work with Sherk's team paid off. After the fight was over he still looked fresh. Brocks another G&P guy. He just controlled heath and tried to pound out a victory. No attempts at submissions even though he had a dominant positions throughout the fight.
I was expecting some offense from Herring but he was controlled throughout the entire match. Brock's sheer size and power was just too much for him. He's a pretty tough dude to have stood up to those vicious knee strikes and those "canned ham" fists of Lesnar. He definitely going to be hurting for the next few weeks

I agree. Anyone with good BJJ skills will sub Lesner very quickly. Herring is not that great of a fighter, if you really want to see a beatdown, watch the Fedor vs. Herring fight or the Cro Cop vs. Herring fight. Feder and Cro Cop toyed with Herring and made him look like a can.
Lesner cocky attitude is going to get him hurt.

In six months he has gained two years of improvement. Any decent trainer will break apart the fight and his weaknesses and should spend the next six months working on all the things we all saw when we watched the fight. The lack of real ground control or instinct, not getting hooks when he should have, all those things. The next time we see him fight I would put money on the fact that he will be a totally different fighter, just like he was totally different when you compare this fight to the Mir fight.
