The only thing differentiating Ronnie and bolt, is one doesnt stand on a stage in a bikini. Therefore, Bolt wins.

Maybe you should post one of your own pics...that would be a better representation of what is not an athlete....It is easy to understand your bitterness.

maybe you could post a pic of ronnie shooting oil into his calves, that would be an ideal representation of athleticism

Yeah... that was right after hitting poses and flexing every muscle in his body and holding them for probably close to 20 minutes... he was also most likely dehydrated aswell. NFL players need oxygen after running hard for only 5-10 seconds so what's the difference? Are you saying Ray Lewis isn't an athlete?

Sure ....We should talk to Marion Jones, Ben Jonhson, Lance Amastrong, Bolds, Giambi...They could help you with that

???

Exactly what I was thinking. Odds are he only had to run 5-10 seconds and then came off the field for that... Ronnie was holding poses probably for damn near 20 minutes in a dehydrated state.

Coach, i've seen plenty of posts of yours and what is it you have against bodybuilders? I mean, if you had the genetics to turn pro I doubt you'd be saying this stuff.

My guess is that Bolt pulls way more quality pussy than Coleman ever could. Bolt is an amazing athlete!

S Samuel, No, NFL players do not need oxygen after running for 5-10 secs unless you have an unusual situation like a 300+ lb linebacker running lets say a fumble recovery for 90 yards, they are not conditioned for that (all though my philosophy says they should be). Also, no, Ronnie is not hitting and holding poses for 20min straight. Where did you get that from, your not the first person who said that.

ALSO, as far as bodybuilding goes. I dont hate it. I just think its rediculous to call bodybuilders athletes when there's absolutely no atletisism involved. I've done both so I know what I say!

So you wouldnt call the olympic weight lifters athletes?

Just because Ronnie Coleman does not run it does not mean he is not an athlete.

Someone who can squat 800 bench over 500 and countless other stupid heavy weights for countless other exercises is in my book an althlete.

As good as Bolt?  Ronnie cant run that fast but neither can Bolt lift like Ronnie.  Its apples and oranges, you just can compare.  Both gifted athletes in their own right though.

How "gifted" would Ronnie be without the heavy use of gear? Being on a ton of gear is not a true measure of strength. BTW, I don't recall seeing Ronnie doing snatches, cleans or clean and jerks.

If he had come in first at his comp he would call bbers athletes but he placed 8th out of 4 competitors so he's a bit bitter. :D

Hey Fatpanda.....until it's proven otherwise....
it has never been proven ronnie takes drugs  ;)

however as for bolt, are you claiming that all this young man needs to be faster than anyone else (who have taken steroids) is a diet of chicken nuggets, and slave feet faster than Kunta Kinte's . ::)

Ronnie Coleman.

Title: Re: who is the better athlete bolt or ronnie coleman?
Post by: The Coach on August 22, 2008, 03:01:23 AM
When did I claim that?

Yes it has been proven that Ronnie takes drugs plus he would never deny it and if he did he would refuse a drug test AND no one on on the face of the planet can walk around @ 5'10 290 and ripped. Bolt on the otherhand passes drug tests all the time and if he refused would be immediately DQ'd.

Also since Bolt is 6'5 his stride is about 1-1/2 time more than his competitors (normal stride is about 8ft) also, from what I understand Jamacain athletes have about 5-10 times the amount of actin which stands to reason why they are dominating in track and field.

The athletes you mention here, shoot oil into their calves to enhance their appearance?

Sure ....We should talk to Marion Jones, Ben Jonhson, Lance Amastrong, Bolds, Giambi...They could help you with that

Ronnie Squats and deadlifts 800pounds for reps.
I would like to see bolt do that!

So the correct answer is RONALD O COLEMAN

I have clients that can do deadlifts and squats that are not athletes........should I consider them athletes too? Again, being on a ton of gear that enables someone to do 800lb squats is not a true measure of strength.

So do you consider any strength athlete to be a athlete?

Powerlifters? Olympic lifters? All those top guys are on gear too, so you must not consider them athletes either...

Lets see Ronnie pass an IOC drug test, administered one per month for a full year, and then we can discuss his athleticism.

Yeah, those are your assumptions.  I think IOC/WADA has a statute of limitations of about 8 years to retest samples, so I guess Bolton had really better have a big budget....

Ask him to také a test. Chances are he'll say no. Automatic admission of guilt. No one is 5'10 290 ripped. Bolt tests over and over again. Get real.

tim mongomery, marion jones, C.J. Hunter, carl lewis to name a few famous drug using cheats.

however:

According to USOC figures, 33 American track and field athletes tested positive for banned drugs in 1999.

The figures show 923 tests were conducted, 769 in competition and 154 out of competition.

Five of the cases involved anabolic (steroid) agents, 26 were for stimulants and two were for other substances.

In all sports 4,962 tests were conducted with 22 positives for anabolic agents.

There is no record in the figures of which athletes were involved or what action was taken by the individual federations.

USA Track and Field chief executive Craig Masback has been under increasing pressure over the past week to release the names of 15 track and field athletes who the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) says have tested positive and not been identified.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) vice-president Dick Pound has accused the United States of being in a state of denial over its drugs problem and White House drugs chief General Barry McCaffrey urged Masback this week to release the names immediately.

how true this statement is  ;D

2. which one would you rather look like?

You're comparing two different guys in two different arenas.

Plus, are you going to include Coleman's football and powerlifting accomplishments into the picture?

LOL.....who are these "countless" others and have they been stripped of their medals?

Carl Lewis failed a drug test the year Ben Johnson beat him and got stripped of his medal. The tests were accessed and shown. Carl's excuse was he took it by accident in a medicine or some shit... except for that to be true it would be 5x the regular dosage of it... Carl knew exactly what he was doing and failed that drug test but was allowed to keep the medal and they never told the media about the test.

I thought Ronnie's middle name was Dean.

Again, it's two different arenas. Let's see Coleman match Bolt's times on the track.

Didn't Kevin Levrone race a world-class sprinter a few years ago?

Thats not exactly admitting he took it intentionally. Not saying he didn't.

Well he's not going to admit it now because he wasn't the one that was stripped of his medal. People would just look down on it, most of the population wouldn't know.

BTW, Bolt is the better athlete. But how can you not consider Ronnie a great athlete? IMO, Ronnie is just as much of an athlete as a powerlifter or an oly lifter.

I don't consider powerlifting an athletic sport, unless you take strongman comps in that catagory. I do however consider olympic lifting an athletic sport (thats why they have it i the olympics instead of powerlifting).
