Typical dumb fuck politician preaching shit he has no clue about.
Blame blame and more blame, no solutions whatsoever - politicians really should go hang themselves.
Sounds like a preacher and look at the dumb clowns rallying behind him. Sure Bush administration fucked up on some issues but this guy is talking like a real socialist. I still can't believe intelligent people actually believe these politicians and their hype.
-
After his speech Kucinish returned back to the mother ship to ready the Kool Aid for the Democrat convention.
Funny not a word was heard from Kucinich about or during the Clinton admission. One of the most scandal ridden 8 years in U.S. history. With all that China money going to the Clinton's library and political funds. As well as the millions of mid-eastern money. The 8 Clinton years offered a lot of opportunity for favorable change, but nothing happened. Now Bill Clinton comes off as a bitter and angry clown. Red nose and all.
-
thats not change ...thats the same

classic, Kucinich absolutely LAYING WASTE to the Bush administration, brutal stuff.
What else do you expect? It's the DNC!!!
When the Republicans get their shot next week, they're going (as one CNN commentator put it) "rip the hides off the Democrats".

very good video mars.

No wonder America hasn't exactly progressed in the last 8 years. There's a desperate need for a middle ground..But republicans are worried about paying an extra 5% income tax on 7,000,000 dollars annually..

What does that have to do with the subject of the conventions?
The point is that, OF COURSE, you're going to see the Democrats bash and pummel the Republicans at the DNC.
You will also see the Republicans return the favor next week, at the RNC.
I wonder what I'll see first? The tooth fairy or a republican with an IQ of 110?
Maybe you should wonder why, these Republicans with supposedly low-IQs keep beating DNC candidates in presidental elections, or why the current Democratic candidate is a DEAD HEAT presidental race with his supposedly stupid GOP opponent.

TRUTH
Obama holds assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans' Affairs, and he is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
-------------------------
As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.<61>
Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories.
He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya.
Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D–WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act", which was signed into law in September 2007.
He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.
Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act", a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.<68>
Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs.
joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.
Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries. After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans."

irrelevant due to his having no frame of reference

honorable as that region needs to find common ground somewhere, yet only a PR opportunity

Barack has Written a total of 890 Bills and Co-sponsored Another 1096 since he started serving in the U.S. Senate.
seems like every note-worthy bill Obama has brought forth has been primarily conceived by the more senior sponsor. am I wrong? I honestly was not aware of most of these though. still does not prove much in the way of his qualification to take the supreme seat though.

That Nutcase is a moron. Alex Jones really has brainwashed too many people using no facts or evidence. The ignorance that he displays as well as his followers is enormous. Faith, the belief without evidence, will ALWAYS lead to irrationality.

Collective- A collective is a group of people who share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest, or work together on a specific project(s) to achieve a common objective. Collectives are also characterised by attempts to share and exercise political and social power and to make decisions on a consensus-driven and egalitarian basis.

Kuchinich is all about the camera and sensationalism. he has done very little good for his district. There's an insider joke about all the meetings & votes he has missed. Idiot.

Obama is going to change that, you guys have fuckered up long enough...
Maybe, he will; maybe, he won’t. That remains to be seen.
If things are as horrific as the Dems claim, Obama should be whipping McCain like a government mule in the polls. That ain’t the case. In the past few months, Obama’s gone from leading decisively in most (if not all) polls, to either barely leading, barely trailing, or in a DEAD HEAT with John McCain.
Of course, the Democrats said they were going to bring “change” when they won Senate seats in 2006. They did; they made things even WORSE, as the 9% approval rating (even lower than that of President Bush) would suggest.
This election may go into “overtime” as the 2000 election did. Stay tuned!!

As evidenced by the many responses in this thread, people are largely misinformed or just plain dumb and unwilling to look at fact and evidence.
The majority of Americans are not bright people.

It is not a response, but instead a truthful observation. Americans are scared of facts and evidence and are influenced by emotion and rhetoric instead. This is true for both sides.

TA, that little bio of Obama just show his lack of experiance with comparative short resume'. That resume' only qualifies him to just stay where he's at...in his senant seat, I still don't any real accomplishments that qualifies his to run the biggest superpower in the world. What I do see in Obama is a socialist with communist idiologies (his father was a communist and he admitted it). He thinks the American people cannot do anything without the government. He's dangerous.
On your little 75% of the prisons are Christian? Thats a good thing. Now také that and see the worlds percentage of Christians compared to athiests. Your in the minority by a long shot!

IF the USA votes in Mccain who is a Bush Clone then America deserves the economic disaster that will happen with the continuation of the failed republican policies, You guys need something new, give Obama a chance and if he doesn"t change things then boot him out in 2012 but don't go with Mccain and his "100 years in Iraq bullshit"
In fairness to Bush, I do believe that had 9-11 not happened he would have been better able to concentrate on domestic issues like the economy.

the problem is that Americans overreacted to 9/11, a few drugged out, crazy terrorists flew some airplanes into a couple of buildings and they made it seem like it was WW3, terrorist attacks have been commonplace in other countries for centuries and they treat them as a law and order problem not a world war problem like we do.

Religious people=Low IQ=Dumbest people in America=Republicans
No matter how you fuck with the equation.... republicans are still stupid... and go to church as well
Then, kindly explain why these “dumb” Republicans have handed you defeat in the last two presidential elections and, as it stands, have a solid shot of making it THREE IN A ROW!!!
Again, like Adonis, you're jumping the gun. Liberals usually don't pull out the "Republicans are stupid" until after they lose an election.
Then, you get those groups who keep wailing about how they're going to leave the country (ala Alec Baldwin*). But, for some strange reason, they're still here.
*Baldwin claimed that if Bush became president, he would leave America. Bush got elected TWICE!!! Yet, Baldwin is still here.

Again,
You’re spouting premature sour grapes, what liberals cry, every time they get taken to the woodshed in an election. And, Obama hasn’t even lost; he may not lose.
But, he’s in for the fight of his life, regardless of the outcome.
"Dumb" people underestimate their opponents, then cry like babies when they taste defeat.
Nicky Smith and YOU (unless, you plan to do a write-in candidate or don’t live in the USA) will be voting for someone “dumb” i.e. Obama who professed to be a religious man and a man of faith. Go figure.

It is a FACT. I will spout it off 10 years from now as I do not see the Zeitgeist of intelligence shifting even in that time.
It is an OPINION, fueled primarily by your disdain for America’s premium on religious beliefs, particularly within the GOP.
It’s also a tired excuse that the Dems/liberals have used extensively, when they lost in 2004, one of several they’ve used after tasting defeat:
2000 – “We wuz robbed!!!”
2004 – “It’s them mean ol’ dumb Christians’ fault; we got “swiftboated”.
2008 – (If Obama doesn’t get the job done) <<<Insert excuse here>>>

I don't particularly want to hijack this thread in religious direction, but as a European citizen who's worked alongside, and befriended people of all nationalities (Somalis, Kenyans, Nairobi's, Russians, British, Poles, Chinese and everything in between) and who has also lived in the US... I can tell you, the general consensus is that Americans are a moronic, uneducated dysgenic subspecies who's willful ignorance and desperate willingness to unquestioningly adopt any ideology makes Americas eventual collapse a certainty.
Not to offend anyone here, but Evangelical and Literalist Christians ARE morons!
Living your life along Christian ideals is one thing (Jesus/Mithras/Osiris/Dyonisus/Hercules, for all his faults was a pretty nice guy), but to presuppose the Bible as literally true is evidence of a chronic IQ deficit...
Bible scholars have shown conclusively that:
-most of the Old Testament is plagiarized from earlier sources (Babylonian creation myths etc)
-Hebrew culture is an off-shoot of Egyptian culture, these references were later redacted from scripture by the prophet Ezekial
-several books (now recovered) have been excised from the Bible for political reasons: the books of Enoch and Jasher for example
-the Jesus story is so blatantly plagiarized from the Middle Eastern mystery religions that the historicity of an actual person named Jesus is now beyond all credulity
...and this is the problem, voting Christian Fundamentalists know nothing of their own religion.
None of the points I have made are contentious among academics (only Christian apologists defend the fairytale), yet a politician contending an election would lose if he mentioned any such fact.
Shouldn't the Christian Republican true-believers consider the fact that almost every American with a 90 IQ is deeply religious while those with 160 IQs are not just predominantly, but exclusively atheist?
Is an Evangelical Christian properly qualified to vote in a real world election when they are so deeply out of touch with reality?

Excellent points. It's mind-boggling how any self-respecting rational thinker could fall for such outlandish gobblygook. Embarrassing, really, as an American.

...Moose, I've been to the States: Chicago, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Seattle, Washington state (and British Columbia in America Junior).
The ignorance I encountered there was absolutely terrifying (and nicely juxtaposed by the rationality and intelligence of most Canadians I befriended).
I'd have to decline your kind offer though... I'm a highly educated and well read high IQ type (test between 120 and 140), and your particular brand of dogmatic militant, willful stupidity is a little too offensive to my sensibilities for me to be able to tolerate your company, sorry.

And yet you spend most of your time on a bodybuilding board having a titty attack over subjects that have nothing to do with bodybuilding at all. You go out of your spellchecking and proof reading your posts to sound as intellectual as possible but in truth you sound like a angry little gnat feeling some how honorable because you voice your opinions on the evil super power. But at the end of the day that is what we are you know. Not a power to be dealt with. But a super power. And you will die and America will still be one of the super powers on this great planet and your legacy will be a few thousand posts on a board funded by a company with America in the name. That's irony right there slapnuts.

Folks have been predicting America's demise for decades. But, we're still here!!
The general consensus among many Americans is that WE DON'T CARE what Europe, or any other country, thinks about us. People are breaking their necks and risking life and limb to come here. If you non-religious liberal types don't like it here, there ain't no anchor tied to your butt. Get to steppin'!!!
Of course, despite numerous threats to do so, each time their party comes up short in the elections, they rarely, if ever, do so.
Not to offend anyone here, but Evangelical and Literalist Christians ARE morons!
That's funny!! A certain Israeli king shared a similar sentiment about atheists, "The fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God'"

No, the problem is this garbage is nothing more than skeptic fluff that many traditional Biblical scholars dismantled decades ago (some as early as the late 19th/early 20th century). And, as I did, the last time you posted this foolishness. Just to reiterate, you have yet to show how Attis chopping off his nuts (out of feverish lust for HIS OWN MAMA) saved mankind from his sins or anywhere near a parallel with Jesus Christ.
Or how Osiris, getting his schlong hacked off and sent to the underworld (WHERE HE NEVER LEAVES), where his wife, (now a bird), has sex with him, using a substitute penis comes remotely close to the account of Jesus Christ.
And, the list of inaccuracies continues.......
Then again, they can also consider that, based on a sample poll from the 2004 election by CNN, those with LESS THAN A HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION and those who attended church less than once per month, voted OVERWHELMINGLY for Kerry. But, I doubt you want to lump the high-school dropouts with your lot.

You folks have an epiletic fit and obsess over someone you DON'T believe exists. And, you call Christians "morons". ::) That's rich!!!
But, this is about politics. If you wish to rehash this silliness about Jesus Christ being copied from Osiris/Attis/Dionysus, take it to Relgious Forum, where it will be taken apart.....AGAIN!!!

But, this is about politics. If you wish to rehash this silliness about Jesus Christ being copied from Osiris/Attis/Dionysus, take it to Relgious Forum, where it will be taken apart.....AGAIN!!!
Great, great post.

...Moose, I've been to the States: Chicago, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Seattle, Washington state (and British Columbia in America Junior).

MCWAY,
How can I argue against your assertion that the Jesus myth is not astrological in nature when you begin from a position of infallible certainty and work backwards by filtering out any evidence to the contrary?
No one can prove a negative... why do you assert that I must do so to convince you when you won't apply the same standard of evidence to yourself?
This is part of the problem with America... militant ignorance.
I assert that the general consensus among bible scholars supports an astrological root for the Jesus myth... that can't be genuinely refuted as the parallels between the Jesus myth and the antecedent Mystery Religion are so obvious and compelling no proper academic disputes the link: simply put, the Jesus Myth is just another version of the astrologically based Mystery Religion.
But somehow you feel that deliberately misconstruing my argument by contrasting the FOLKLORE version of the Attis/Mithras/Dionysus story with the Jesus story constitutes cogent argument... again, it is the ASTROLOGICAL MYSTERY version of the Attis/Mithras/Dionysus story that the Jesus myth is plagiarized from, not the FOLKLORE version.

That's funny!! A certain Israeli king shared a similar sentiment about atheists, "The fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God'"
Matthew 5:22
Whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
does this mean he's going to hell?

In Wisconsin I was introduced to a Young-Earth-Creationist Evangelical Christian fundamentalist with an eager streak for converting heathens...
Equally eager to avoid a religious conversation (conversion!) I explained to this fundie nutter that I came form a very isolated Gaelic-speaking part of Ireland ruled by a High Council of Druids and that I knew nothing of Christianity... nor electricity, nor running water, nor roads, nor the modern world... and so couldn't partake of a discussion of the "Good News".
This uber-religious 'tard didn't get the joke... didn't notice my perfect English... nor my giggling relatives...
So he runs off to get a bible and returns (rather rudely) reading it aloud... started at Genesis: "In the beginning..."
I let him continue till he mentioned the tree in the Garden of Eden...
"Yssidril!" I shouted "Yssidril, the Tree of Life... I know this story, it's that Viking creation myth... is there a snake or serpent in the tree named Midgard by any chance?"
I spent the next ten minutes explaining the basics of (pre-Christian) Viking astrological symbolism and how the various symbolic archetypes in the story represent astrological/geodesic concepts (the tree is the Earth's axis; the serpent represents the equator and the tropics, the garden is the Valley of Edin in turkey etc etc).
This dumbfounded nutter didn't know what to think... so he asked me how I knew all this stuff.
I explained that all of this stuff goes back to an Ice-Age semi-global astrological mythos common to most ancient cultures... he cried.
That sad dude is a retired high-school headmaster. Only in America.

No. Not dismissed.
You did not answer my question:
What do YOU do to add to helping your fellow man?
Is it true that you live in a basement and do not work?

...no, I work.
But being a scientist who qualified just after 9/11 and being stuck in the Irish economy I usually work intermittent minimum wage jobs. (Not so bad really, the Irish minimum wage is about $14 an hour) this situation is just deliberately misrepresented by the shit-stirrers here... they needn't bother, I wouldn't have admitted to it if i was ashamed of anything, so they don't get a rise out of me... I consider myself a victim of economic circumstance... but "loser" is equally apt.

...don't think there's any money in it (maybe as a Bigfoot guide), but a tv production company interested in a "Monster Hunter" style bigfoot show have my bio. I've already spent $15k on my four expeditions to date.
If the show goes ahead (pretty low odds) I'm about 10th on the list of three guys who might be in it.
Around Halloween each year, and during Science Week (late November) I give public lectures on the Sasquatch/Bigfoot phenomenon. It's not so hypothetical anymore, the evidence is already conclusive... probably only a matter of time till DNA or a body make it incontrovertible.

Actually I barely speak any Irish at all... (ten years out of practice)
But that brings us back to Adonis' well made point: due to the chronic IQ deficiency, most Americans never master even one language.
The education standards over here (Ireland) are pretty high (UNICEF puts us 8th in the world for basic literacy whereas the US is 18th). For example, for my final year of secondary school (high school) the higher level curricula are equivalent to first year college exams in the US (not my opinion, that's an international rating), I took:
Languages:
English Irish French Latin
Sciences:
Maths Biology Chemistry Physics
Arts:
History
Getting this thread back on topic, compare that to the standard of edumacation the average American highschooler receives... do they take 7 or 8 subjects to first year college level?
Over here you need to score a minimum of B's in at least 6 subjects just to get in to college. (By the way, schooling is free in Ireland... from kindergarten to PhD. Healthcare too, and we have the 19th best healthcare system in the world... the US is 37th).
Does this go some way to explain the impending collapse of the US?
I think so... Moosejay and The Coach wouldn't think so... but then again, they can't.... think.

MCWAY,
How can I argue against your assertion that the Jesus myth is not astrological in nature when you begin from a position of infallible certainty and work backwards by filtering out any evidence to the contrary?
Still using that pitiful (and inaccurate excuse). I didn't begin from a position of "infallible certainty". What I did was post the backgrounds of the characters from which you claim Jesus Christ was crafted. From there, I showed categorically that their story DO NOT MATCH that of Christ in the least.
I didn't miscontrue your argument. I took it apart, using cold hard facts, with references from <<<hold on to your hat, Luke>>> BIBLE SCHOLARS, either by posting the references themselves and their authors, or posting the links.
The Jesus-myth stuff is played out, as well, as the historical evidence for His existence is well-documented. The simple fact is that you've done little more than regurgitate tired old skeptic bleating that 19th/early-20th century Bible scholars have refuted long, LONG ago.
These figures bear no resembles to Jesus Christ, in form or function. Christians don't worship the Lord by cutting off their nuts.
This is exactly what I was talking about... deliberate, willful ignorance... these fools believe that their delusions constitute reality. They believe their delusions can be made reality by insisting upon them. Facts? Well anyone quoting facts can simply be shouted down, can't they?

But, I guess it's time for you to pull out the red herring, since you can't get this gibberish of yours to fly.
And, what's that you were saying about "ad hominen" attacks, again? It's business as usual with you, resorting to name-calling, when you can't make your arguments stick.
But, again, this is about politics
-
When they forced Khruschev out (Russia), he sat down, and wrote two letters to his successor. He said - "When you get yourself into a situation that you can't get out of, open the first letter, and you'll be safe. When you get yourself into another situation that you can't get out of, open the second letter". Soon enough, he gets into a tight situation, and he opens the first letter. It says - "Blame it ALL on me". So he blames it ALL on the old guy, and it worked like a charm. When he got himself in to a second situation, he opened the second letter. It said: - "Sit down, and write two letters".
Traffic :D
-
Well I gotta hand it to MCWAY for getting this thread back on topic...
When a fundamentalist Christian asserts the "cold hard facts" that;
-there is any historical evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ
-there is no link between the Middle Eastern astrological Mystery Religion of Jesus and the Middle Eastern astrological Mystery Religions of Attis/Tammuz/Achilles/Hercules/Mithras/Osiris etc from which it is derived
-evolution is merely a "red herring"
...well that's all the evidence you need for what is wrong with America.
Militant, willful ignorance.

It's become common knowledge in biblical study circles over the past few years that there was a pan-continental religion in the ancient world based on astrologically symbolic stories.
The identity of the symbolic dying and resurrecting God-man was usually lifted from common folklore in order that he be familiar to a new culture.
So while we all know the basics of the Pythagoras story (mathematician and teacher, discovered the Pythagorean theorem aka the 3/4/5 triangle), there was also another version of the story... a Mystery Religion version of Pythagoras who traveled around with 12 disciples, healed the sick, healed the lame, healed the blind, fed a multitude with fish and bread, walked on water, raised the dead, was betrayed, crucified and rose from the dead after three days. All of this centuries before Jesus.
But to quote the historical version of Pythagoras the Mathematician as evidence that there was no Pythagoras Godman is disingenuous... the Church went to great lengths to eradicate the Pythagoras Gospel throughout the Middle Ages.
Similarly it is disingenuous to quote the mythological stories of the various godmen Attis/Tammuz/Hercules/Horus/Orion/Osirus et al, when the dying-resurrecting astrological godman versions of these stories are not only historically documented but also acknowledged by early Church Fathers who even went so far as to claim the Devil had pre-emptively created imitations of Jesus in order to discredit him (the doctrine of Diabolical Mimicry).
Why MCWAY can't get this, I don't know... it's tantamount to quoting claiming Elvis Presley didn't die on the toilet because you Googled Elvis Costello.
Oh Christ... I'm arguing with a Christian Fundamentalist on the internet!... I'm going to go outside now.
The Luke
PS-better quote some sources: "The Jesus Mysteries" by Gandy and Freke or alternatively for the non-readers, the first hour of the Zeitgeist documentary gives a good overview of the roots of Christianity (before delving into 9/11 conspiracy pseudo-science).
