Yates is one of the extremely rare bodybuilders whose calfs can keep pace with his oversize thighs. Generally, calfs are the more important muscle in the leg group. Ridiculously big thighs look awkward without calfs but not necessarily vice-versa. Yates overcomes this.

The very first time Yates guest posed in the US was at the Palm Springs in (I think) 91, may have been 90 or 92, but the one thing that happened to EVERYONE in the audience was their jaw dropped when he rolled out on stage with that back of his.
People were freaking out at how big his back was-pictures did not do it justice. Freak of nature back.

I met Dorian at a guest pose in '93 a couple weeks after he won the "O" that year. Looked like he was in the process of getting the tattoo of "skin" off his fingers. Anyway, he was thick as a horse! He was doing a seminar and stopped in mid sentence when he saw someone in the audience taping (we were told there was no taping) and got mad at the guy. The dude's eyes bugged out of his head and he stopped right away. Funny moment! Otherwise, he was a friendly guy that liked talking to his fans. Good guy!

Mr.Wolfe gets my vote for 2008 Mr.Olympia winner based on his cigarette smoking habit. It takes an intelligent and sophisticated man to appreciate the pleasures of tobacco, and to understand that you truly have only one life to live. This is what the sport of bodybuilding needs: a refined and sophisticated Mr.Olympia who is well rounded and not unidimensional and doesen't think of only eating and training, and who wastes all of his time trying to establish good connections with the right steroid dealers. :)

Its really impressive how huge Mike is in those Casual pics, no Staged lighting, No oil, pro-tan etc...those arms and calves of his looked ridicalulas, im betting Mikes more than likely never seen them, oh and hey Micheal you got me thinking of Memory lane here, those baggies and that Muscle top you got on near that car reminds me alot of those days (early-mid 1990s) when me and a whole heap of other "crazys" would walk around town...although the tops i wore when i was going hardout were abit over the top cut right down across the shoulders and just under the chest...ill post a couple later for the hell of it!
