People who start useless threads disgust me.
you mean this isn't a bodybuilding related thread? ::)
-
No, they do not disgust me at all. What's the problem with Vegans?

They often don't and I think that is the problem.

What I like to order when I'm eating out with vegetarians is "Blunzngröstl". The basis is blood sausage, bacon, and pork chops. It's not that I like that particular dish... ;D
-

And how are they doing that? Are they raiding your house in the middle of the night and running off with your steaks? ;D

i was vegetarian when i was younger, im suprised i grew as tall as i did without hardly any protein. im 6'0

better than stuffing your face with burgers and fries

What is the indian word for a bad hunter????????????/
A Vegetarian...

i wouldn't say disgust me... but when a vego/vegan orders a dish at a mainstream restaurant and then complains its bland then that kind of annoys me, especially when steaks and meat-based dishes are the priority in their kitchen

Vegatarian: Excuse me, is there a vegatarian option?
Waiter: Yea, fuck off.

I saw some stupid fuck visit my friend's Vietnamese restaurant and started bitching about no Vegetarian options. They wouldn't even eat fish, and most of the sauces had something that upset them. Then they just asked for rice and sauteed vegetables and started getting a sobbing wet vagina when they said they didn't have brown rice. Look at everyone's eyes in the restaurant!! As much as I love them, you could blindfold them with a piece of fucking dental floss. Do you think they care about Vegetarians and brown rice?
I almost wanted to stand up and tell them to get the fuck out because I can't enjoy my DOG meat over all their whining. :D

I like dog meat. Is it legal to serve dog meat in the West or are you in Vietnam?

Dear Vegans:
For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three.
Hope this helps.
Say hello to bowel cancer for me

Immortal technique said it best---
"Look, let me make something abundantly clear for people, who are so bereft of activities they feel like they gotta comment on mine.
first of all being a vegetarian should never be associated with being a revolutionary or being open-minded., that's a dietary choice.
if someone wants to proliferate the type of ignorance we're supposed to be fighting by thinking that, you're just fucking yourself.
i don't go around promoting beef and poetry shoving it in people's faces. i don't castigate people for not eating steak sandwiches; and i would never diss someone for being a fucking broccoli-head, or living off of radishes, or eating grass or tofu.
i like a lot of vegan cuisine. but the illogicality of expecting everyone to adopt their particular idea of what being healthy is is just preposterous.
i've seen some of you herbivores; and if you want to argue health, y'all need to eat some kind of supplement because some of y'all are so skinny that it's disgusting; looking like the only hip-hop motherfuckers on schindler's list.
being a malnutrition-ass got nothing to do with being revolutionary or being on-point. i'll be damned if i let somebody else push their agenda on me. you know i don't eat pork, not because i'm a muslim, i just don't really like it, but i really will fuck a bird up. and fish is good when that shit is fresh.
it's like my guy vast air from Cann Ox if you don't like the smell of burning meat, well then get the fuck off the planet. you know i don't criticize people for eating moss, then don't open your fucking mouth about my food, man. i like beef and broccoli guy. mind your god-damn business. matter of fact... you know what? i'm out. i feel like some arroz con pollo, a banana daiquiri, and a motherfucking bistec empanada."

Heh, I was just kidding. I have tons of Viet friend's who've eaten it though. Lots of Filipino friends and family members too. I'm too white washed to try it... if I were to travel to Asia though I would give it a shot. I think people in the West are too politically correct to eat "domesticated" animals though. I'm not sure if it's illegal though.
Say hello to bowel cancer for me
LMAO... I bet you're a pussy vegetarian too. Say hello to being a skinny, brainwashed hippy for me. Meat, particularly red meat, is not poison. Contrary to all the popular propaganda that VAGetarians just can't get enough of. ::)
-
Let's call it a draw, even though you raised it, smart alec.
Enjoy your veggie platter.
I'll eat a steak.
I eat meat - I just don't overdo it - my dad got bowel cancer and he was a steak man every night.
-

LMAO... poor suckers. I'm not saying that meat is the be all, end all... but to completely exclude it from your diet for any other reason other than a serious health condition is ludicrous. You don't need to live off meat, particularly red meat (which I know gets sand in their vaginas), but God damn. Those hippies are so irritating with all their anti-meat propaganda. Some of the least intelligent vermin on this planet.
gcb, there's a difference between eating meat and eating nothing but meat. If someone's got ulcerative colitis or treacherous bowels then yes, they should limit or even completely avoid red meat. But for people that are healthy, active and have no serious medical concerns they should educate themselves to great depths before making such a drastic decision. Despite what hippies ramble about such as eating different foods to make complete proteins, and only eating twigs and bark mulch, it's just wishful thinking. They can have their rabbit food and kumbayas, and I'll have my delicious, nutritious animal flesh.
-
Meat is the most satisfying food you can eat...but I gotta say after recently reducing the amount I consume I definitely feel lighter on my feet and less bloated. I think it's better to eat losts of meat a few times a week (weakends?) rather than eat it all the time with every meal.

"The Vegetarian Bodybuilder"
Bill Pearl
Never heard of a famous vegetarian bodybuilder? Bill Pearl is probably the most well-known of vegetarian bodybuilders. At his own peak as a bodybuilder when he last won the Mr. Universe in 1971, Bill weighed 242 pounds at a height of 5'10" and his arms measured 21 inches! Bill stopped using steroids by 1961.
He won the professional Mr. Universe title in 1971, at the age of 41, without the use of steroids and as a vegetarian, and is recognized as one of the all-time greats of bodybuilding. Bill's diet is lacto-ovo vegetarian, which means he eats eggs and dairy products.
He describes his experiences with the conversion to vegetarianism. "With each succeeding year the diet (lacto-ovo vegetarian), I've felt better. I'm more healthy, I can train with more energy, and I'm not as much of a "hard guy" as I used to be. I've become more concerned with my fellow man and the other inhabitants I share the planet with. …I have now been vegetarian for almost 20 years. We have no fish, fowl, or red meat in our diet. Yet I can still carry the same amount of muscle as I did in winning my four Mr. Universe titles. People can't believe it. They think that to have big muscles you have to eat meat - it's a persistent and recurring myth. But take it from me, there's nothing magic about eating meat that's going to make you a champion bodybuilder. Anything you can find in a piece of meat, you can find in other foods as well."
;D ;D ;D

Every vegan I've known and I've known a few... all had yellow teeth, bad BO, wore dirty clothes and couldn't run a mile if Bigfoot were chasing them. They also thought big muscles were useless and against natures design.
I killed them all.

Roy Hilligenn was also a vegetarian, though I’m not sure if he was a vegan. From what I read about him in MuscleMag, he lets his fellow bodybuilders and critics have it, when they got on his case for not eating meat. Hiligen say that he was just as strong as, if not stronger than, they were.
gcb, there's a difference between eating meat and eating nothing but meat. If someone's got ulcerative colitis or treacherous bowels then yes, they should limit or even completely avoid red meat. Not all vegans are hippies. As you stated, for health reasons, many people dropped their red meat consumption. Usually, it's a gradual transition. They go from being meat-eaters to vegetarians. Later, they go from being vegetarians to vegans.
As long as your body gets the amino acids it needs (in both quality and quantity) you will get bigger and stronger. The problem is that most people don’t know how to balance their diet. Yes, you have to know which veggie/veggie-grain combos make complete proteins. And, you have down enough of that to meet your needs.
The reason some vegans looks so gangly is because they think that they’re eating right, simply by avoiding the consumption of meat or any other animal products. Just because you don’t eat mean doesn’t mean you’re eating healthy.
This is especially true, as it relates to getting enough B-12. Unless you eat organic veggies (and even that may not be enough, especially given the price), you MUST take B-12 supplements. You won’t get it from your standard veggies or grains, because the way those foods are processed, prior to going to market, kills the bacteria that makes this critical nutrient. Animals don’t eat processed veggies or grass, which is why their flesh is loaded with B-12.

Try this: Hang upside down and make cut at lowest point possible. Bleed dry. Then, soak meat in an ice chest a few days to draw out the rest. This also ages the meat before freezing.
Ever try vegan jerky?

1) Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Strict veganism also excludes the use of animal products such as wool, silk, leather, and fur for attire and adornment, even though some of these do not directly involve the death or slaughter of an animal.
2) Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes meat, fish and poultry.
3) Lacto-vegetarianism includes dairy products but excludes eggs.
4) Ovo-vegetarianism includes eggs but not dairy.
5) Lacto-ovo-vegetarianism includes both eggs and dairy products.

Maybe to reach a higher evolutionary state now that our brains have grown through meat eating we now have to take it away...It happens with just about everything else that we create...Although something tells me that you won't ever believe that until we can create a totally different wheel...
-
And how are they doing that? Are they raiding your house in the middle of the night and running off with your steaks? ;D
Haha, funny thing is, there has been a time when the most valuable thing in my apartment was the content of my freezer. 70lbs of Argentine tenderloin, bought in bulk, prepared and marinated by myself. I had like a pound a day. :D

True, eating meat lowers your vibration frequency. But atm I love eating meat too much.
Do you get enough protein with your vegan diet? Or are you not focusing much on bbing lately?

Why?
the taste ???

No they don't disgust me. Secondly they eat egg and milk which is a great source of protein so it's not that hard to achieve a great muscled physique with that.
Try vegan diet + bodybuilding if you want a challenge.
I would like to be vegan but feel much better and do much better on a diet with animal protein.

You said you were referring to me...I'm not a vegan. I just changed my proportions around a bit so the diet is more vegetation than animal matter right now. Not really focusing on bbing at the moment, got to get the health to 100% inspiringly good.

You're using an awfully broad brush to paint all vegans. I have friends who are vegans, and their reason for switching their diet usually has more to do with health, especially if they have kids who are allergic to dairy products. Granted, I've met a couple of people who were a bit snooty with it. For example, my wife has some guests over for lunch. She knew they were vegetarians but didn't know they'd gone full vegan. She went out of her way to make a great meal, only to have our guests ungratefully turn down many of the items, particularly the bread products, because they were made with either milk or eggs).
But, those are few and far in between. Most are just regular folks, who for the most part, are pleasant and polite people.

The challenge with a vegan diet is three-fold.
1)Getting the quantity of protein needed for growth. Eating lots of veggies and grains likely includes a high intake of fiber, which can curb your appetite.
2) Knowing which veggies to combine with what grains or other veggies to get
complete proteins.
3) Getting sufficient B-12, either from eating organic veggies (not canned, frozen, or
“fresh” ones, covered in wax or sprayed in pesticides), or using B-12
supplements.

Disgust, no, annoy, some times. If a person chooses not to eat meat for personal/ethical/religious reasons, that's fine with me. It's the vegetarians that are sanctimonious and start spouting off about things like "humans were not meant to eat meat" and other easy to disprove vegetarian mythology when I get annoyed. My favorite vegetarians are the ones who "only eat chicken and fish." News flash, you are not a vegetarian.... ::) :P ::)
Another annoyance: if vegetarians dislike meat, why are the majority of foods sold to them all designed to look like and taste like meat: vege burgers, vege hot dogs, and even vege products shaped like animals??!! Vege tofu turkey anyone????!!!
Seems to me there are a whole bunch of vegetarians out there who miss meat, or such products would not sell as well as they do!

Meat doesn't really taste that good, unless it's seasoned properly. And most of these "un-meat" products (as I like to call them) are loaded with salt. They have to be; otherwise, they taste TERRIBLE. Get some flavorless tofu and eat it. Now, try some dry UNSEASONED chicken (no salt, no pepper, no herbs, NOTHING). Both will be murder on the taste buds.
-

That would be quite false and you should not be speaking for meat eaters. I need no seasoning on some meats.

That I can believe!

Now tofu is truly a food that needs seasoning to be worth eating. I have eaten plenty of unseasoned baked chicken, and although boring, tastes perfectly fine. I will take the chicken over the tofu any day with or without the seasoning!

I can speak for at least one meat-eater.....ME!!! That's why I made the statement. And, the key word you mentioned yourself was some meats, which further validates what I said earlier.

I've had both and neither is all that appealing to me. It's edible, but I'd get more flavor from my shoes.
-

Exactly. Nuff said. :o
-
If you have pre-existing liver or cholestrol problems, then saturated fat and meat proteins should be avoided to some extent. But other wise cutting out meat for health makes no sense...it displays a lack of nutritional knowledge. For health meats are key ("ESSENTIAL amino acids"). Cutting down on saturated fat intake from grain fed animals does make sense, and so does buying grass-fed free-range animals, but most cuts of meat are relatively low in fat anyways.

will do you think its possible for someone to achieve top 3 mr olympia like muscle mass while being a vegetarian?

What happend to your column in MuscleMag? If you are no longer working with them, will you be resurfacing elsewhere?

I don't think it's possible to even be on the Olympia stage today as a vegetarian, much less the top 3. Sorry, but that's my opinion. It's not a slam to vegetarians per se, but what I see as physiological reality.

i agree, although i didn't think a vegetarian could achieve bill pearl like mass either.
morally i agree with being a vegetarian, but biologically it seems meat is simply too healthy/nurtitious/tasty to give up.
-
Will,
What happend to your column in MuscleMag?
That's no longer. Pretty much ran its course and after 10 years, didn't have much to say had not already said. Besides, I hit more people on my mailing list then they do in their monthly publication, so it makes more sense for me to write for my own stuff... ;D
If you are no longer working with them, will you be resurfacing elsewhere?
Yes, on my site (www.BrinkZone.com) and others, and new blog, which has added almost 4000 people in a month. I pop up here all the time also and try at least to get out good info where I can. I have no issues writing for the mags per se, but I have a bit of a "been there done that" attitude toward it these days, and the 'net is where it's at for reaching large numbers of people quickly
The mags have to do what they have to do to stay in business, but it's hard on readers no doubt the amount of ads, etc.
Thanks
M!
Thanx for asking!

He built his mass before he was a vegetarian, and by today's standards, his entire body was about the size of Cutler's leg. ;D

Humans are omnivores period. Morality is a human concept. I'm fine if people are vegetarians due to their personal moral/ethical beliefs as mentioned in my blog, but they should not impose their morality on those of us who like it dead, red, and corn fed. ;D

If you want to make a change and feel good about yourself, you can start by changing your meat eating to non torchered souls...Focus on select cuts of organic feeds cows etc...Most can't afford this and that alone will make you search for other means of protein...
Remember this, when you eat the meat of a "fucked with" soul, this is a chance that you take on all of that negative energy...That may sound weird to most and even to me but unless your doing such things and your life is A fcking OK, disregard what I said...If it's not and you want to cut back on your meat eating, try eliminating these poor little bastards from your diet...
I will say this...I use to get sick quite a bit but since I eliminated red meat from my diet (about 95% per 6 months) I don't get sick and my completion has cleared...
Google meat eaters and you will find most will dev/cancer one day...Its the first thing they tell you to get rid of if you already have cancer...That and they tell you to go organic...

I will say this...I use to get sick quite a bit but since I eliminated red meat from my diet (about 95% per 6 months) I don't get sick and my complection has cleared...
Google meat eaters and you will find most will dev/cancer one day...Its the first thing they tell you to get rid of if you already have cancer...That and they tell you to go organic...
yes however, as humans have evolved from eating red meat, i highly doubt its the red meat itself that causes the cancer - more likely the hormones, etc thats pumped into the cows, and ends up on your plate that causes it. like you say organic meat should be pefectly safe.
