Word is that Ron needs to give his OK before the new Website with all the info can go online, and he has not done so yet. At least the rules should be up soon, if people are to take pics acoording to them starting in 3 days.

The PDI put on a better show than this one, and they couldn't even get T-shirts! No details have been announced, I think it's time for someone else to take the reigns on this show tbh. I nominate Quakeroats and Bluto to run it.

Maybe if there was a posted list of entrants and a preliminary pic or two + wagering and odds! then I would lay down some action. Get a sports book up and running, Bluto, then we're talking! :)

If the first Mr. getbig was at 100% with anticipation, hype , buildup ect...then MR. getbig II was at 90%, but this year is somewhere in the 20-15% range...and thats being generous...with that said, who is going to put up money when no one cares ? :-\

No one, that's why people need to know. This contest was being hyped with lies like "last year there was 5,000$ in prizes". Well, what the fuck does that have to do with anything? What about this year? I think they are purposely withholding the money this year because they don't want TA to win it. Nothing else makes sense.

No one is ignoring anyone - I had a thread up for the last 13 months asking for judges - finally had the *first* reply on it yesterday. I asked you to assist or even organize it this year - you flat out refused.
I busted my ass last year on this, had all ducks in a row weeks in advance, info out, detailed pm's sent to all, was meticulous in all manners and you personally complained over 100 times, so really it appears to be impossible to please you anyway. :-\

People are now saying that it's Mindspins contest, so therefore whatever 240 and CQ say is null and void. Both of them announced that the contest was next weekend. 240 announced it five months ago, and he said that he had talked to Mindspin and was just passing along information. Question is, who is the filthy liar? 240 or Mindspin?
I talked to mindspin. The show will be the weekend of October 18th. That would mean competitor pics should be taken the week before, and probably due around the thursday before that, on Oct 16th. Then I'll work to have the full competitor gallery of pics up by Sat the 16th, and results from our judges (who will they be?) by Monday the 20th.
This is 3 weeks after the Olympia. Our talented CQ and Mindspin did a great job with the last 2 shows, and our great sponsor gave out $5000 in CASH prizes for the Mr GetBig 2. A lot of people were kicking themselves for not entering. Be sure to enter! A lot of members could have won serious $ in the GB II just by entering.

It has turned this whole competition into a bit of a joke.... I had my photos taken and was ready to rock.... Falcon boy was begging for the contest to be pushed a few months. Clearly he wasn't ready and looked like shit. ASJpathetic always looks like shit so I suppose this is a chance for him to look less shit.

I understand everyone's annoyance and don't even know what is going on myself. Not to excuse it, but unless an entrant had "munzer like conditioning" extra time will only serve them well.
Or as I suggested before, ask Mindspin to forgo cash prizes now and in the future - which some people [not the entrants] complained about already and they didnt want a proper judging procedure, just the board saying what they thought. Have the "contest" and award zilch - then Ron doesn't need to approve anything and those that complained money should not be awarded will also be happy.
I see it as pretty ghey if its just pics up and everyone saying who think looks best - its what we do everyday here really but not my call, and what people have asked for. Slap pics up and call it a day.

I [not fact] assume as this board is sponsored by certain elements, that having other elements donate prize money may be the issue. We saw the drama prior with Eds radio show vs. PBW, perhaps a similar things is at play here?
Is why I say its a non-issue if the prize money is tossed out the window and the "prize" is nothing...makes it all no problem, and people have called for that for some reason I do not understand.
As of now, if MS hasn't posted - its as he cannot via Ron. That is the entire issue - he arranged prize money months ago.
I do know Ron is really busy, gets buckets of pm's and is very hard to connect with. Last year I hounded the man, sent nothing under 50 pms to get things done.

The rules of the contest state you have to be holding a current newspaper. I say let people enter next week and let 240 hold the pics without releasing them and also let people submit pics the day of the "new" contest. It's really the only fair way.

Sure one could have site hosted elsewhere, that is no issue. Site is no biggie, a page with some pics on, I and many others could toss that up in a couple of hrs. Issue is - look at Ed as an example. Supposing that was tried, all Ron has to do is keep wacking threads. I assume [?] Ed's show is on deaths door now, if not dead already. One can't really have a contest, with no way to tell anyone, and all threads about it wacked.
Option A - go ahead and win piss all, as some people [no one who actually is in it lol] want it to be a prizeless thing anyway.
Option B - it's Ron's board, so must go his way and wait on him.
Thats just as I see, nothing official.

No offense, but were you and your 22 posts even cleared for entry? Sounds snide I know and sorry, but seriously I am not sure if MS would have let you anyway.
I understand everyone's annoyance and don't even know what is going on myself. Not to excuse it, but unless an entrant had "munzer like conditioning" extra time will only serve them well.
Or as I suggested before, ask Mindspin to forgo cash prizes now and in the future - which some people [not the entrants] complained about already and they didnt want a proper judging procedure, just the board saying what they thought. Have the "contest" and award zilch - then Ron doesn't need to approve anything and those that complained money should not be awarded will also be happy.
I see it as pretty ghey if its just pics up and everyone saying who think looks best - its what we do everyday here really but not my call, and what people have asked for. Slap pics up and call it a day.

No problem, and thanks for the nice reply. Reason why MS sets that is simply as people complain if not. And it's sticky, as same people will post complaining about a rule from MS, then pm me like a fiend telling me they agree and keep the rule.
I really per se have nothing to do with it this year since ppl requested that last year - am just helping MS a bit, can speak from last year plus MS and I are good friends, so defend him as a friend.
People say Ron will approve it easily etc - uhhh Ron approved the black star and stars last year, I pm'ed him the day of the show with profile links, sent that like 5 mor times, posted in threads, harrassed him on MSN, pm'ed him every 2 weeks for the next 3 months - and got nothing. Zilch.
Getting stuff approved is not too easy, and Ron can easily put the clamp on whatever he wants, and as we see with the stars - has.
Anyone who thinks its easy to get approval, PM Ron for me, and start with getting last years stars lol. Let's see how well it goes :-\

People who took the contest seriously have been aiming for this date. This was clearly the communicated date, the contest should have taken place. If someone agrees to organize an event like that, he should at least be respectful enough not to lead people into preparing for the wrong date.
If someone is unfit to pay enough attention (over several months) to at least announce that the communicated date (and yes it was communicated) is unofficial resp. wrong, he should not have taken the obligation of organizing such an event in the first place, regardless of his financial compensation. That's a matter of respect for the contestants, not a matter of money.
If MindSpin feels it is unfair that he gets no financial compensation and therefore thinks he can treat contestants any way he wishes, he simply is the wrong guy for this event.
Just my opinion, and just meant as positive criticism. No insult intended.

Last year, someone wanted me "removed" - so I did step back, no one else stepped up at all despite me asking them directly look where that got us? MS really had "things" that were not easy to settle. He is not diplomatic no, in fact he is rude lol, but if he didn't care - he would be like 99% of getbiggers and do nothing to put on on. He obtained prize money, and did all these things for 2 years - while most the board sat around bitching and refusing to start a contest of their own. Yet - *he* gets flamed. How about flaming the hundreds of other guys that haven't done a damn thing?

It's not like MS is fighting off people who want to use their connections to get thousands of dollars, deal with massive red tape behind the scenes and get flamed. It's not like there is a fight for people to do this :-\
Anyone can start a show - and in the years that I've said this - said 2 a year would be great - not a SINGLE person has put one on? I have asked people directly do it and been outright refused.
Everyone keeps saying others should do it - when not a single rational person has offered or done a show in years? Thats the issue.
Last year, someone wanted me "removed" - so I did step back, no one else stepped up at all despite me asking them directly look where that got us? Hence why I am butting my nose back in at this late moment, not for the board, the trolls, but for those that have worked to do this - MS and the entrants.

I don't want to take anything away from him, it's amazing to come up with prize money for such a contest, no doubt about it. I was just critizing the attitude he shows towards contestants who have prepared for the contest and now have to start all over again.

Clearly it was postponed for a reason. i understand many peoples frustrations but 8 weeks is more time to get in better shape. Good luck

Haha, now you are correct. There was a reason I did the public dealings last year, I am a touch more polite then Mindspin ;D
He has just cause though, a few great guys have entered, us 3 put it on - no one else does anything and Mind gets flamed to death for trying to bring a good thing to the board.

and it was NOT mindspins decision, he never did announce the contest, time, money etc
he didn't have the approval of Ron
so just leave Mindspin alone >:( the guy is doing something amazing for this board and people can't see that
