but I'm not going to vote for a colored man."
Just heard someone say that on ABC news. They were interviewing people at a rally. I thought that was just funny as hell, lol...
-
The irony is strong within the american people.
-
I just couldn't believe the guy actually said that. What reasoning must be in this guy's head? I guess he figures he's not racist unless he puts on a white hood and drags a black man with his truck... LOL, wtf...
-
I saw that clip a couple of weeks ago. Crazy. As I recall the guy was probably in his 30's, yet he's using the term "colored" like it's 1950. ::) Clearly one those good ol' boys who vote repube because they "git 'er done." ::)
-
Another American idiot, they are out in large #s these days.

I was under the impression it just happened yesterday by the clip but maybe it was older.

Who gives a shit? If blacks blindly support Obama because he's black, I have no problem with someone who is white refusing to vote for him because he's black. If you asked 100 Obama supporters why they aren't voting for McCain, 75 would give you the same response in reverse.

Simply Stunning...how do you operate in everyday life

Of course you don't "give a shit." You just made a racist comment. LOL

How did you come up with these numbers besides pulling them out of your ass? ::)

how many times are you going to ignore the fact that only about 10 percent more are voting for Obama than would normally vote for the dem candidate. Again, the majority of blacks are dems, it's like you're calling the bulk of them racist for not switching parties and voting McCain? And this is not an excuse for the hilarious and blind statement this guy made. And that's bullshit, 75% of those voting for Obama are probably white or other. What is the black population, somewhere around 12 percent? For Obama to be polling what he is, that means the majority of his supporters are not black!!! ;)
-
I suppose Colin Powell is white? lol
Between 99% of blacks, 50% of the guilt ridden white American youth whose parents and schools have brainwashed them and 50% of self hating whites overall, Id say that even if your figures are correct, they are voting for him because he's black. If they can do that, then the idiot they caught on tape should be able to not vote for him for the same reason.

Seriously, just drop it. You make yourself look more stupid by the second.
Hugo presented a great argument.
-
I suppose Colin Powell is white? lol
I think we all know Colin Powell is Black, jackass. ::) What you are to ignorant to realize is that stating that Colin Powell endorsed Obama simply because he is also Black is racist.

hello!! earth to george, earth to george... come down from the dark side of the moon... Stop ignoring the facts and pulling bullshit numbers out of your ass. Now address the posts rather than calling Colin Powell a racist or whatever you're trying to say ::) It just looks like you have no answer so you make it up as you go along... which is what you're probably doing.. People are not voting for Obama because they're guilty and you simply have no facts to back that up... It's the kind of crap that comes off stormfront... we're all brainwashed and guys like you are just trying to wake us up... oh brother....

Breaking news!!
Cnn just reported that George Whorewell is a racist neocon cockgobbler!
Mccain is about to endorse him any moment now.
-
I hate to publically admit this, but I was copied on some chain emails from a couple of my black friends concerning Obama. One of them referenced why 'we' should be proud to vote for Obama because he is black and that it was about time we had a black president. Now, I love that my buddies forget I'm not black at times...hahaha and those are my dudes but this email did make me feel a bit uncomfortable.
No one should vote for someone based upon race or gender, its idiotic either way. Issues and character outweigh all other variables.

did they indicate that was their only reason they were voting for him? As in the case of the guy the thread is made about, he indicates he can't vote for a colored man. Have your friends voted for a white candidate or said that they could not vote for a white man?
-
did they indicate that was their only reason they were voting for him?
shootfighter? :P
Have your friends voted for a white candidate or said that they could not vote for a white man?
shootfighter? ::)
I know the email that shootfighter is speaking about (or at least very similar ones that are going around.) If those black friends of his have voted at all in the past, I am quite sure they have voted for white candidates before.
-

dont try to defend that email dude. lets just agree that he is being supported by a lot of people just because hes black and hes being voted against for the very same reason. shootfighter had it right. both sides are ignorant and wrong if race forms the basis of their decision.
-
It's always the poorest people that use race as the biggest deciding factor.
i'd vote for a purple hippo if he'll actually go into pakistan and kill OBL, lower my taxes, and end this irresponsible-ass borrowing from china, and has a back-up with an IQ above 60.
Which candidate is the purple hippo here?
-
dont try to defend that email dude. lets just agree that he is being supported by a lot of people just because hes black
Why should we agree with that? When has being Black been an advantage before in a presidential election?
-
I don't know the voting records of my friends but they certainly could have.
These guys aren't racist, they are my friends, but I think the rally cries are being trumpeted and people come together as a group (hence the chain emails). Some of them still identify with being black first. They probably want to see and be a part of history when we elect our first black president. I'm all good with that, but its gotta be about the issues for me. I like more moderates.
Nonetheless, its still not a good email and I would not send them something like that.

I am cool with the email. NotSorry you were offended by it, but I am quite sure those "friends" of yours are concerned about the issues too. ::)

More accurate would be to say that he is half-black. It would appear that Colin Powell, by his skin tone is also half-black as is Condoleeza Rice. (a bit of white DNA seems to help) Why do blacks always claim a mixed race person to be their own? They all want to say Tiger Woods is black when in reality, he is half asian. I doubt Obama would be where he is if he were 100% black. Then again, I'm am quite sure he wouldn't be in this position if he were white. With his track record he would have never gotten this far without the novelty of his race.
-
Im a Neocon cock gobbler because I tell the truth. lol Why am I not surprised that such an eloquent post was made in my honor?
I am "making the numbers up as I go along"? Well duh. I made a generalization, that if I cared to clarify and waste my morning digging up statistics, I would.
And I am "one of those" because I state the obvious? lolol
When has being black been an advantage in running for President? The more I post here, the more I think I'm wasiting my intellect. In the history of America how many blacks have made either parties ticket or run in the first place? Excluding Alan Keyes and Al sharpton who were both non factors, It's been Obama and Jackson. Jackson ran in 1988. Obama is running in 2008. Thats the difference.

1)Barack Obama defines himself as African American. ;)
2) Colin Powell is not biracial.
3)The reality is there is no such thing as "half Black" in America.

'Nuff said! :-X

Thanks for explaining that you are pulling random numbers out of your ass.
When has being black been an advantage in running for President? The more I post here, the more I think I'm wasiting my intellect.
"Wasiting" your intellect? LOL You have to be intelligent to waste your intellect. ::)

Why would you exclude Alan Keyes or Rev. Al Sharpton if Blacks vote solely on race? Alan Keyes runs every four years. Why didn't Blacks flock to the Republican party to support his candidacy? What about Carol Mosely Braun, Shirley Chisolm or Rev. Jesse Jackson?
-
Why should we agree with that? When has being Black been an advantage before in a presidential election?
you dont think a lot of blacks are voting for him because hes black? hey look man im gonna vote for him and i like barack obama. but lets not let a presidential election make us lose touch with reality ok?
-
Benny, I am commenting on the email alone, not the full opinion of the sender or recepients. I'm sure many are concerned with issues. The email itself was specific to "voting for barack because he is black". It was a responce to the public criticism that many blacks are voting for Barack because he is black...so the email was affirming that charge and stating they are proud to do so...which is backward.
I think a lot of black Americans want to back a black president who has committed himself to civil rights....perhaps, that desire is greater than looking at all the issues as a whole. Hopefully we can move past that and some day all think of ourselves as American first and race second.
-
you dont think a lot of blacks are voting for him because hes black?
ONLY because he's Black? No, no I do not. And I am likely a little more in touch with the African American community that you are. :)
hey look man im gonna vote for him and i like barack obama. but lets not let a presidential election make us lose touch with reality ok?
Whose reality, yours or mine? :P

3)The reality is there is no such thing as "half Black" in America.
Sure there is.
Obama is the whitest "half black" man I have ever seen.
-

As I stated before, I am familiar with the email. There is more to it than voting for Barack because he is Black, although certainly Blacks are taking that factor into account.
I think a lot of black Americans want to back a black president who has committed himself to civil rights....perhaps, that desire is greater than looking at all the issues as a whole.
I think you are making a lot of assumptions and some of them border on an either conscious or unconscious level of racism on your part.
Hopefully we can move past that and some day all think of ourselves as American first and race second.
I agree, but I hope you will champion this ideal amongst your white friends and colleagues as well instead making this assumption about the Black community.
-
Very clever Benny. Did you have your social worker help you with that one, or did your mother sit down and help you sound out those big words you retyped?
As to your next point, its called a generalization. I never said I had exact figures. If thats the best you can do, you really are a complete moron and a waste of my time.
Lastly, try to re-read my post very slowly. There has only been one black candidate in American history to get the nomination of either party. He got the nomination in 2008. The only other black candidate to ever come remotely close was Jesse Jackson 20 years ago. Think of America in 1988 and then think of America in 2008. C'mon Benny, put on your thinking cap and put down the crack pipe. Perhaps this exercise in contemplating American history is too difficult for you. Have someone on the board explain the ways this country has changed in the past two decades and my point will become crystal clear.
Im not going to waste my time explaining why Obama being black is an asset in this years election because you'll need a personal tutor and five mental health specialists working round the clock to explain the concept to you. I'll settle for making the statement itself. If you can't figure out why Al Sharpton and Alan Keyes dont get the nomination of their parties on a yearly basis, and why being black isn't an asset for them, then quite frankly your too stupid for me to have a conversation with. Keep hope alive brother!
-

LOL- Benny do believe the bullshit you type on getbig? What black community are you in touch with, the one on Pluto? BLACKS ARE VOTING FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK AND A DEMOCRAT, NUFF SAID, END OF STORY.
-

Just heard someone say that on ABC news. They were interviewing people at a rally. I thought that was just funny as hell, lol...
There are racists all over the place, only thing that annoys me is when they preface their racism with saying they are not racist as above lol.I have on a couple of occasions been "hit on" by a man who I know has made racist remarks before, and would be amused if it wasn't so annoying. I prefer the clear cut racist types, then the ones that pretend they are not.
-
"I think you are making a lot of assumptions and some of them border on an either conscious or unconscious level of racism on your part"
Benny, the above was an assumption but its based on things that I have heard and read. It is not racist. Come on man, you know some black dudes are voting for Obama primarily because he is black and has been a champion of civil rights. This isn't racist...its an observation. Your refusal to acknowledge that as a possibility and insinuate my comment could somehow be racist is ridiculous. People of all races may do this to some extent. I am happy to be able to look beyond that. I will vote for anyone that has values and principles that I agree with...black, white, hispanic, asian, india, green, martian...I don't give a shit what they are. Are you a bit sheltered or something? Maybe just have a chip on your shoulder.
-
I'm not going to vote for a white man."
Just heard Rev.Wright say it.
Fixed it for you.
-
Ahh yes, the good ol' "it's not racist if a black person votes for a black man because he's black" and the "it's racist if a white person doesn't vote for a black man" argument. Love the double standard. ::)
-
why doesn't obama rejoice in his whiteness?
it's half his race afterall....

Really, I think its a different perspective.
How many times Shoot do you make a perfectly normal post, and get quoted and racially slurred here? :-\
Before I ever mentioned I was black here, all was well and peachy. Soon as I did, gates opened...which have now reduced some thank god. Is why I took time of this board due to a certain person posting racist things towards me, without provocation no less. I'd be posting about taxes or clothes the guy would launch a racial thing at me. I've been quoted and told to STFU as I am a N word. Numerous examples. Its worse on the internet yes, but issues like so are a part of my life lol. I wouldn't bother "remembering I was black" if I wasn't harrassed for being so. I know you mean well and understand where you are coming from, but as they say walk a mile in our shoes. Test it out here lol, register a new account mention you are black in passing, and see the reaction. Living in a racist world is different from living with it. Trust me. I'd like to "just be a person" - hopefully one day I will be treated as such all the time, then I can be.
-

i spell it either way depending on what I'm typing. both spellings are in the dictionary.

There are ignorant assh-les everywhere CQ and I'm sorry to hear anyone has offended you. Your one of my favorites here! Uncalled for insults, I completely agree...but you also have to consider the source. My guess is that its a few idiots rather than a majority of any sort. If any ignorant f-cker would spout off racial insults to my friends in front of me, I'd be the first one to smash em.
Some is a matter of perspective, true...thats why I don't consider my friends who forwarded the chain email to me racist. However, the email itself still isn't right. If you are voting for someone primarily because of race, its wrong...either way and that must be acknowledged.
I have said many times on this board that I think its good for America to have a black or female president to break historical traditions...but I make my decisions based on issues and character. When it happens, it will be an additional positive.

I agree and thanks.
See, for myself, I really like Obama's foreign policy outlook. The world comprimises of 220 nations, and the days of running around trying to stand alone and bullying nations to me don't work. We all trade together, lend/borrow funds, share information etc, and may as well work together when possible, and prevent death not instigate wars with high level weaponry that cause it. I like him regardless of race, same I liked Paul but dislike Palin despite sharing a gender. Issues are also my thing.
Seeing a black, hispanic, asian, female president to me isn't really a big deal, although would be nice to see all the 1st world rid themselves of the last strings of racism/sexism. Names like Thatcher, Golda, Benazir, Marcos etc everyone should know. Minorities, woemn and even homosexuals have lead and even the lead the UN, nothing new there. Americans it is something new to yes, to much of the world old news, they crossed those barriers decades ago.
As far as perspective, for example I have had to say many times I *love* being black and have no desire to be white. Why? Because I am accused of wanting to be white, ergo insinuating there is something wrong with being black. It's not like I just come out and say that for no reason, its a reaction to someone's action. Same as many things we do, it can be in reaction, really nothing I would ever expect anyone to understand unless they are in our shoes, even if they try their best too.

All you lefties know that if Barry wasn't an Oreo, he wouldn't be the Dimocratic nominee.
89% of 'coloreds' are flat up voting for Osama because A) he IS what he is, and B) He's a dem.

come on now. you're not serious. nobody? NO black people are voting for him ONLY because hes black? can only white men display ignorance in your world?
-
No because no black people are racist. Also, the easter bunny, the lucky charms leprocahun and Miley Cyrus are all part of the same white racist power structure that has been opressing the black man for 12 million years.
-
According to blacks and dems, only white people can be racist....

agreed. it is a ridiculous statement. that guy needs to be bitchslapped back into reality. i guess people just assume from your previous posts that you're tryin to make a blanket statement about whites who dont vote for obama. whenever someone posts on this board a clip or statement like that its usually for an underhanded insult to people on the other side. people are going to take things the wrong way on a board like this all the time.
-
Thanks CQ. 8)
I am critical of some aspects of recent foreign policy as well. I favor diplomacy, sanctions and working with other democratic nations... and spending less money in foreign wars, which sounds more like Barack. The Iraq war was a disaster and a mistake though Petraeus pulled us out of complete disaster.
While we must work more with other nations and absolutely not stand alone as the world's police agent, we must also not heed completely to the UN because they represent varying interests that are, at times, different than ours. I don't want more of our already disproportional tax dollars funding the UN, which is where I disagree with Obama.

Fort Collins.

Holy crap ;D We might have crossed paths a few times...
I'm not even talking about the word colored, it's the fact the guy says he's racist but can't vote for X, replace X with colored, black, negro, African American, whatever... not addressing what term is correct, it's the concept... The concept is hilarious... The guy is a racist but says he's not a racist. He just said, no matter what, he's not going to vote for X candidate if they're black, but he's not a racist... You have to see the lol in that ;D
-
Back to the original post, of course that guy is a backwards idiot. Thats rhetorical.

I'm not sure about the words, I more look for the concept of racism, it's easier to identify. Words are harder because a person may not have a racist bone in their body but use a phrase or word that is taken different than what was intended. Plus it seems like every generation, they move from one acceptable term to a differnent one so there are problems with that.
I was born in Fort Collins, spend a lot of time there.

This has been my experience too. I've heard a number of black folks say they are voting for him in whole or at least in part because he is half black.
Race should not be a factor in any election. But it is.
I talked to someone who worked the polls during the Deukmejian/Bradley gubernatorial election in California and he saw the “Bradley effect” firsthand. According to him, white folks were literally being wheeled out of nursing homes to vote against Bradley.

but I'm not going to vote for a colored man."
Just heard someone say that on ABC news. They were interviewing people at a rally. I thought that was just funny as hell, lol...
No more silly then 96% of blacks voting for Obama simply because he is black.

His judgement has nothing to do with it? We have witnessed this man overcome limitations and put forth a solid campaign, while all the others have fallen apart. Mccain for all his experience has had the wheels come off the campaign bus for some time now, only you haven't been watching. That thing is out of gas and coasting on the rims. The engine is about to seize up. Thank God there's only 10 more days to go.

Seriously shootfighter! I can accept that such an email made you "uncomfortable", but for you to read it as any more than it is, is simply an insult to not only the intelligence of Blacks, but yours as well. ::)
If you think that in this day and age, Black people are going to run out and vote for a Black candidate, just because an email told them to, you need to have your head examined. Do you pass on those BS emails that tell you you're going to get $2 million from Microsoft if you send it to everyone in your address book? Are you still waiting for your $2 million dollar cheque? Do you expect to win the lottery in 5 days when you do? Do you think you're going to be struck by lightening or some other catastrophe if you fail to pass it on? Get a grip!

All you lefties know that if Barry wasn't an Oreo, he wouldn't be the Dimocratic nominee.
89% of 'coloreds' are flat up voting for Osama because A) he IS what he is, and B) He's a dem.
C) He has a better stand on the issues than McSame.
-
agreed. it is a ridiculous statement. that guy needs to be bitchslapped back into reality. i guess people just assume from your previous posts that you're tryin to make a blanket statement about whites who dont vote for obama. whenever someone posts on this board a clip or statement like that its usually for an underhanded insult to people on the other side. people are going to take things the wrong way on a board like this all the time.
How is it ridiculous? Because it's 100% true?

You would think someone with an IQ of 160 would be able to spell "judgment" correctly. ::)
Fact of the matter is that all this Obama hype has to do with his being black. When he ends up being the same run of the mill schmuck like every other scumbag politician, then it's going to be mighty amusing.

well I don't know if I posted as a point. I actually just did a head turning WTF when those words came over the radio and I had to share... Usually guys like this piss me off but I found it kinda stupid funny ;D
It reminds me of the time when that guy refused to sell me his jaguar.
He felt the need to assure me his decision was not because he a racist because he wasn't.
He went on to tell me "My daughter is married to a {leans over, looks both ways, then whispers} a coloured." ;D
It was all I could do to not burst out laughing. You had to have been there.
-
Jag, you and I can agree to disagree on this one, I still have respect for ya.
The email does bring light to a way of group thinking for some of the people that sent it. I certainly wouldn't be forwarding something like that about a white candidate..."Vote for X because he is white". I understand its easier for me to say that because I haven't endured the degree of race related discrimination, but ultimately, its wrong.
Not everyone is as intelligent as you and not as many are aware of the issues. Sometimes there is a group mentality and thats the flavor of the email that went around. I hate chain emails and have asked my friends not to clutter my inbox with them.

Nothing wrong with the word colored, that's what they have been referred to as for over 50 years. Just cuz they want to refer to themselves as nigggas in the past 20 years doesn't mean we have to stoop to their level. As far as the guy not voting for him, big deal, hardly any blacks are voting for McCain, even though he is far more experienced than Obama.
-
C) He has a better stand on the issues than McSame.
D.) He will little if any of what he has promised because he will not have the funds to do it
E.) Because he is like every other Dem/Lib with his hand out asking the American people "give me" and telling them "I want"
F.) Biden admitted Osama will be tested and will surely need help

Be careful, saying logical things make Democrats heads burst! They will try to blame you for hate crimes and lynching afterward! :o

Poor people have been voting Dem for 40 years and their still poor. ;D

This whole process is hilarious.
I applaud the guy for having balls enough to speak his mind.
He's a lot more honest than many people here. :)

True dat.

The guy is obviously so retarded he doesnt even realise he is racist... At least you know now if you see him.
I am starting to hope McLame wins so the country can continue the downward spiral and all this bullshit about Obamas skin color will be over with.
Im not even gonna vote or better yet I should vote for McLame
-
D.) He will little if any of what he has promised because he will not have the funds to do it
Ending that colossal clusterfvuck in Iraq oughta free up a lot of funds.
E.) Because he is like every other Dem/Lib with his hand out asking the American people "give me" and telling them "I want"
As opposed to McCain who wanders about without a clue what he's doing or what is going on around him?
F.) Biden admitted Osama will be tested and will surely need help
Every new president is tested. They've both beeen tested so far on the campaign trail, ...and McCain failed.
-
Poor people have been voting Dem for 40 years and their they're still poor. ;D
But we poor people do have decent grammar skills.
;D

They're spinning nigga they're spinning....when Chris Rock said it he talked about rims....his next show will have the same line about Democrats.
Talk about spinning his words lol....spin it some more and you might even get it to sound that Biden said Obama will be tested for disease to add that to his one page of medical records ::)
-
But we poor people do have decent grammar skills.
;D
I never said I was rich. ;D
I really need to stop drinking during the day (jk) and hit spell check...lol.
Ending that colossal clusterfvuck in Iraq oughta free up a lot of funds. Ending our frivolous welfare spending would free up a lot too but Osama wants to spend even more money for the undeserving. Explain how that's fair? By the way, he will not pull out fast and leave the way his pops did...in Iraq that is. If he does we will be going back.
As opposed to McCain who wanders about without a clue what he's doing or what is going on around him? Watch any news show with informed analysts, from both parties, and they will tell you how McCain's experience will actually benefit the country. There needs to be a check on Congress because the far leaning left run by that twat Pelosi has a lower approval rating than the President. Congress actually enacts legislation and the Dems are doing a shitty job when not in check. Lefty Osama will just sign off on more and more spending but will not have the funds.
Every new president is tested. They've both beeen tested so far on the campaign trail, ...and McCain failed. All Osama has done is enamor young idiotic people into believing he is the next JFK and has become yet another Dem to fool the poor (who don't contribute shit) that they are somehow entitled to more and will get it, but they won't.
