Anybody have/use one of these?
are they any good?
-
We have one (if we are talking about the thing you strap your feet in and it flips over backward). Used it once I think. I don't recommend it.

Yup.thats the one.why didn't you like it?

I have a friend who has one. He loves it. Says it's great for his back.
He's a little weird though :P
-
LOL my dad used to have these ankle cuffs that had hooks on them so you could hang upside down from a bar...always looked funny to me but id be willing to give them a try now :-X.

Probably because it's ugly and I don't like looking at it. Also, we never use it so that could have something to do w/it.
It can also be dangerous and people can actually injure their backs. Always use it when another person is in the house because I know of one guy that flipped over and could not get back up...this was on a really old one though, maybe there are safety catches on the new ones.
If you get one please be careful!

im interested in this thing too. i wonder if it works?
if you bring your knees to your chest, wrap your arms around your legs, and roll back and forth on your back on the floor or a mat it opens up your spine and decompresses your discs like this gadget is supposed to. its much more simple, maybe not as effective, but it feels great! i try to do them before and after legs/back/calves or whenever i feel like it!

I swear by it. Everytime I do back or legs, I spend 20-30 mins inverting afterward.
A trick; I've removed the ankled holders on mine and instead use snowboard boots, which fits in the brackets and will save your ankles.

Without rounding your back?

sorry for the delayed response. your back is rounded while doing this.

I have suffered from back pain due to a slipped disc and inflamed psoas for about a year I tried everything chiro, massages, phys therapy, etc. and nothing really worked then I started using an inversion table in December, bottom line I haven't had any back pain since.
I've even had the weirdest strength increase since, again for a year my deads were stuck at a particular weight which I could do for 8 reps and if I even increased the weight by 5 pounds with a couple of spacers I absolutely couldn't move it. Well since using the table at my gym trying to stay on for about fifteen minutes every other day or so my deads max has gone up by about 130 pounds which is finally back to what I was doing before I slipped my disc.
At first I would do about three 5 minute intervals with stretching in between because It hurt my ankles for a while but it eventually got easier and my goal is to hang for 15 minutes every other day.

So not every day for you?
When it starts feeling thight, I bump it up to everyday.
-
I ordered one.I will give an update when I get it and start using it.

I would think that would be pretty normal for being upside down for a few minutes...let us know if you get any results from it
-
I'm thinking of getting one. Any updates?
I have this shooting pain, muscle spasm under my left shoulder blade. It friggin kills me. My back in general is screwed.

i used to get that to not really a shooting pain but a constant pain under my right shoulder blade, regular adjustments helped so did stretching.

Migs, have you tried getting a deep tissue massage? Tell the MS about your shoulder and back....I think you might see some improvement. Maybe try to get one once a week or so. Also, check out 240's Active Release Therapy threads. I don't know much about it but it seems to have merit.

I am thinking about looking into it. however money is an issue. I just spent $300 on a heart stress test that i told them i didn't need, turns out i was right but broke.

! Well I'm glad your results must have been good!
I think a table is around $300. That will buy you 3 or 4 massages. I don't know if a table will help you but I think a massage will...maybe you could try one massage and see it if helps?
-
Table is working good. 8) I feel alot less tightness in my back.
-
I'm over the whole dizziness that I had when I first started using it and now I hang for 15 minutes 3-5 days a week.gotta say that it does help :) my back feels much better.not that it was really bad but it use to get stiff alot, especially in the morning.I don't get that anymore so I'm happy.
...the only problem that I have is that when I'm hanging upside down my cats use my head as a punching bag :(
