Title: Yates consuming 2,000 grams of carbs in the offseason?
Post by: ASJChaotic on December 06, 2008, 09:19:23 PM
If I take in very low carbohydrates I can't walk. So obviously I need more carbohydrates. In the off-season I was on 2000 grams of carbohydrates a day and 400-500 grams getting ready for a contest, and my contest condition was better than most, for sure, so my body fat was very low on 400 grams of carbohydrates a day.

2,000 * 4 = 8,000 calories alone from carbohydrates  :o
I think this is not correct because it's pretty hard to consume this and he even states he never went above 6,000 calories  ???

The highest I ever went in the off-season was about 6000 calories. And I generally went below 4000 for a contest.

well obviously his numbers in both quotes dont match up but i think its safe to say that there are ways he could have been eating 2k grams of carbs per day... and have been NEEDING T and BENEFITTING from doing so.. just not anything to go around telling people (like saying that kinda junk in a magazine article) without also saying the other *factors* involved in why youd be eating 2k grams carbs per day

Its not like the guy ever had to be anywhere...I don't think he guest posed that much...Dorian is a sociopath like most other pro's...So setting his watch to everything he puts in his mouth would be no problem...

Pro bodybuilders are too fucking dumb to be sociopaths.

Depends on how technical you want to get on the definition...I think believing in ones own lies is a good start...

The sport is filled with them.  Dan Duchaine was another sociopath whack job.  And people actually glorify the moron.

Each slice of pizza can have 40 to 80 grams of carbs  times 12 or  8 ( depending on how its sliced)  480 to 640 grams of carbs. That's a  lot of pizza. I think he meant he consumed  2000 CALORIES  in carbs. Plus the 1200 in calories from protein, and 800 calories from  fats= 4000 calories. Not a bad ratio and set up ( for a huge guy like Yates).

2000 calories in carbs still don't add up given his macronutrient ratios. He was a high carb guy.

It makes 100% NO SENSE.  I am confuzedzorz

I was just trying to make sense of it, because 2000 grams of carbs = 8000 cals, just inn carbs. That would make anyone fat.   Maybe there was a typo? I dunno..

it would be 8000 cals a day just in carbs, factor in fat and protein which im sure he ate a lot of, that would make his rough intake at 10000-12000 which is ridiculous.

I can only imagine what a guy the size of yates ate to maintain his weight.

he doesn't look like he really gets fat very easily. I bet a lot of people would be shocked at the amount of food he ate.

some people have to eat ridicules amounts of food to put mass on their frame.

Not sure about you, but I'm half the size Dorian was at his peak.
I'm on the extreme side of being active, but people are shocked at how much I eat.
And I'm positive that Dorian probably ate two to three times what I eat at each meal.
If I go to Fuddrucker's and eat 2 one pound burgers, I'm sure Dorian could rip through at least three, and probably four and still ask for desert.

Agreed.
I'm not 240- then again nobody is (ain't that right Rob?!).

But like you, I can eat a full pizza alone, 2 large burritos and a Angus burger in a sitting, or have a quart of egg nog and some Pop'ems and still be hungry for more.

But unlike you, I get on the heavy side. Not necessarily fat, like obese- I'll "wear it well"- but I by no means stay lean enough for my tastes.

but if I live past 50 I'd be surprised. you just cant put away the amount of fat and calories I have and live a long life...

I've been thinking about it lately, after seeing all these old codgers walking around in a daze and being assisted in and out of cars and the like. I'm not sure if I want to live past 65...certainly not if my quality of life is like that of theirs.
