That's why I like the keto type diets like Dave's.  I am MUCH, MUCH more stable mentally on them then I ever was with a carb cycling diet.  I got huge up's and down where with this I am much more stable and don't have the same "haze" that I used to get on the low carb days.

well yes it is normal... but it can be avoided...if your eating enough protein you shouldnt really have any blood sugar related side effects like "hazyness"..and if you do they should be very shortlived.

In short, can you tell me how protein affects the blood sugar levels?

Anyone ever start smelling like rotten fish, after being on a low carb diet for too long?  :-[

In short, can you tell me how protein affects the blood sugar levels?
in short, protein provides amino acids to be used for production of glucose, so when blood sugar falls as a result of low carb intake, protein is used to raise blood sugar back up to normal levels.

also, glucogon, which is released in response to amino acid levels in the blood, acts as an antagonist of insulin.

Lots of stuff in my head about my preparation, nervous etc.

In the gym everyone seems annoying to me.

I try to combat it though. Sometimes it completely messes my workouts.

im on 150 carbs a day plus 30 from veggies..protein about 300. 2 hours of cardio a day.

You are right.

Eating tons of onion and letus saved me from hunger a lot.

But, you are still dizzy from low blood sugar.

Don't do low carb then, it's completely unnecessary anyway.

Don't do low carb then, it's completely unnecessary anyway.
But if you do super low carb combined with high intensity cardio, your body shed fat so fast and change everyday.
So, even that pain, you are really looking for seeing your body when you get up. Its so visible and effective.

I think it's different for everybody. For people who can keep their strength up while on low carbs, it will work fine. But there's no scientific evidence that low carb diets will provide better body composition if the rate of weight loss is kept the same via overall caloric restriction, as long as protein intake is high enough.

I understand it.
But one thing you take it wrong is that Its not the overall caloric restriction.
Actuarlly, you need to try to eat same amount of calories as the diet before your starting super low carb diet with big amount of protein and few fat. Or even more calories you can take. Its the reason why my diet success this time.

Absolute number of calories was not my point. If you adjust your food intake to maintain a certain rate of weight loss (whatever that means in total "calories"), I don't think it matters if you go low carb or not.

Use to be very hard. But it's much easier if you take good amount of raw vegetables, and rally take care of all fats u need (omega 3...) and all non-caloric nutrients. Take care about Iron, Zinc...

I think a multivitamin-mineral is a must on low carb diet, also some coffe ;)

About emotional disaster, maybe is worse when I can't see my abds XD

Yep. Short tempered and mood swings.

I'm a part time dieter. Diet threw the week and on weekends eat whatever. I notice when I hit thurs-friday I really hit the wall. Then on sat and sunday I feel a lot better.(junk)

Dieting is tough shit for me. Doubt I could go 8 full weeks of low carbs sanely.

Calories are very important, but also hormonal response... Maybe carbs are more dangerouse in order to insuline but also better for healthy liver... It's hard, if not, everybody would be ripped XD

All recent studies I know of show that insulin release patterns have absolutely no effect on body composition whatsoever.
It's not hard to get ripped at all, in fact it's very easy.

Do you train any kind of sport? or just weights? Maybe after 3 hours cycling u would be crazy for carbs... Is it also easy for you to be big? Then we have the new Mr.O.

That's probably because you apply too many unnecessary restrictions which makes sticking to the diet virtually impossible for any normal human being.

kyomu, could you please give some advices on how to train legs according to Paco?

thanks.  :)

First of all.

He always makes very strong emphasis that DONT IMPRESS WITH HEAVY WEIGHT.

Each sets goes to failure.

Perform high reps(more than 15) with maximum squeezing as if you are posing.
So automaticaly the weight you handle will go down dramaticaly.

He performs 180kg(4plates each) X20 with that way(squat as if posing) and shouting loud because of failure.

I do the same with 120kg only. And my legs dont look that bad.
One stone and you hunt two birds. Injury free plus maximum growth.
You dont need that much weight for building a pair of decent wheels.

I've been carb cycling for 9-10 months now. Never had a mood swing.
