Holder told reporters at the Justice Department that the administration's review, made on a case-by-case basis, would determine whether the prisoners need to be put on trial or whether they can be released.
"For those who are in that second category, who can be released, there are a variety of options that we have. Among them is the possibility that we could release them into this country," he said.
Holder said it was possible the 17 Chinese Muslims who have been held for years at Guantanamo, and two or three others prisoners, could be freed in the United States.
It would be funny if it wasnt true......

do I need to actually list the wars?
for what? my point as im sure you know is that certain actions done in the middle of a war is different then the same action done in normal everyday life in society. At any rate you missed the preceding point to that and that is that these crimes didnt take place in the US against civilians which negates them being tried in a US civilian criminal court.

we were fighting iraq and now more fighting in afghanistan. LOL war or no war, whether we are at war or not ::) isnt as important as the fact that these crimes didnt take place inside the US and arent subject to our civilian legal system.

I wasn't aware we had declared war on Iraq or them on us
hopefully we can topple the govt in Iraq and replace them with a govt. friendly to the USA
or at least friendly to Iran

in what dimension do these crimes exist and how does the USA claim authority?
we all surely agree the USA exists
where do these crimes against the USA exist?

well i would think they exist in the arena of military law as the action occured in a military arena...In what dimension do these crimes exist in the US and how is the UNITED STATES CIVILIAN legal system the appropriate arena to charge them in?
There is an entire military justice system set up why would you think these ppl should be tried as US civilians in the civilian US legal system as opposed to "enemy combatants" or whatever barry wants to call them now in the military system?
-
bullshit, just letting them go on the streets is a load of made up crap. You said "set free" You couldn't even legally do that with a person from Afganistan that wasn't even a terrorist. They're not just going to turn these guys loose in America and if they do, it's a CIA style mindfuck. I didn't read it because it sounds retarded.
From the link, again did you read it?

I'm not aware of the entire military justice system
how does this fit in relation to national (US) and international law?
-
You didn't read what I wrote, I said I didn't read it! It's retarded! So since you are so fond of not reading what I write, why should I give a crap about reading your posts?
b/c you were asserting that this shit was made up and i was posting a DIRECT FUKING QUOTE...LOL ::) It is SERIOUSLY RETARDED i agree but that makes the whole situation all the worse b/c its TRUE

What in the world . . . You gotta be kidding me. Release foreign suspected terrorists in this country? They must be high. If they can't be prosecuted they should be returned to whatever country in which they are citizens.
-
it's bullshit.
It certainly is.
-
no, it's not going to happen kind of bullshit.
It won't happen because the public outrage will be too great. They're not that stupid. But what an outrageous thing to even float.
-
reading the article, it looks like reporters pushed the angle. He probably said it's a possibility because nothing is impossible. The article also says it doesn't mean they would just be free on the streets.
I'm not about to try and justify the man's comments. Inexcusable. I'll chalk it up to a rookie mistake, but what a frightening thing for the AG to say. :-\
-
yea, he should have just said he doesn't recall :D
He's going to get fired just like Gonzales if he keeps this up.

Holder said it was possible the 17 Chinese Muslims who have been held for years at Guantanamo, and two or three others prisoners, could be freed in the United States.
Holder met earlier this week with European Union leaders, and urged them to take some of the Guantanamo prisoners. They questioned why they should take some of the detainees if the United States does not make similar efforts to take some.
I certainly hope that this doesnt happen hugo but the FACT is this retard and barry are considering it and that in itsfukingself is OUTRAGEOUS

The US government willingly allows through inaction millions of terrorists from south of the border every year. Whats a few muslim ones coming in and getting on the dole gonna do?

very good point, trust i live in houston and im not very happy about the former situation you stated either. Fact is gitmo was closed b/c of pressure from the left all the while ppl asking what are you going to do with the prisoners? Now it seems as though some of them might be walking our streets. Two wrongs dont make a right and if your upset about the immigrants than you should be outraged about this shit.
-
Send the Gitmo gang to Israel.

sorry - I haven't followed this thread in awhile.
What people are you referring to?
If someone commits an act of terrorism on US soil have laws to deal with that and we have people locked up in the US right now. Enemy combatant are legal limbo and actually create more problems for us than it's worth. We can deal with them just like we deal with any other war criminal, prisoner of war etc..
-
haha release them into general population at rikers.
pass a memo to the guards to keep an eye on them, as they came from gitmo.
haha shanked in the yard in 2 days.
