I'd go full body, 3 sets per exercise, 8-12 reps per set. After a few months of that, then she can figure out if she want to jump into a different routine.

Beginner routine for females:
When you're having sex, make her do all the work.

cardio/resistance circuits. Full body.
They appeal to women as there is both cardio and weights, not just weights.

Step 1 is to remind her that everyone trains themselves. You can offer advice and encouragement but it's up to her to do the exercise and stick to the eating plan.
Agree with full body 3x/wk, compound movements + cardio. Start slow and easy.

Both. Machines have their place in a beginner workout, but implementing some free weight exercises is advisable.

Her feelings about machine vs free weights is probably the most important factor at this early stage. If she has emo baggage about barbells like so many people seem to, let her use the machines. Long term, the unrestrained movement of free weights is something to move toward tho imo. Bodyweight exercises are also excellent and lots of gyms have assisting machines that are great for beginners.
Don't forget to assess her flexibility and keep an eye out for joint pain, and try to get her into the habit of taking the time to warmup well. Above all, don't take some House of Pain Animal Pak approach to gym time. Make it fun and something to look forward to.

fuck that, dont fll for her trap! or if you do decide to train her, and she askes you "what body parts can i imporve", just shut your mouth and say "baby your great the way you are". trust me on this one, next thing you know your fucking, and in the middle of it she's asking you if she really needs to tone her legs more.
