true in that 'angry and hardcore' seems to be the fashion de jour in bodybuilding but has been that way relentlessly for the last 10 yrs.....but I think that is why, as we will disagree, that it isnt that popular with mainstream and gays, It only appeals to the angry white and black males in their 20's....they are suckered into spending their last dime on bb products.

Celebrities, super models, FHM cover girls etc all do a similar put on look, you've all seen it.. They basically do that "I'm the shit" Almost angry "you'll never have me or what I have kind of pose...they try make themselves look unattainable and "better than you"... people want what they can't have, so this look helps make men & women desire them for what they look like or have....

That's why it's called a "muscle fantasy." Besides when so many pictures are close ups or taken from a lower angle like this one, little guys can look like giants--even when they are really 5'6". Remember, most BBs are in the 5'8 range. :-\

I have been to the FIBO when i started to work out, and i was really kind of shocked at how short these people are!
I felt like i was in a Tokyo subway, lol!

Another "trick" used by the marketing machine of this industry: photograph the short guys next to each other (like JJ and Branch, or Branch and Jay Moore), keep them in the same shot, or photograph them by themselves. That way, they all look the same size and there's no frame of reference to tell how short they are.
Put Branch next to Noah Steere or Scot Milne; who would any guy or gal go for? It's no contest. ;D
