You can apologize now.

Last year he was against the amnesty bill.
Again, he does not want to increase the Guest Worker program. He is not against amnesty and is for open borders as the video you posted shows.

He said specificially he is not in favor of increasing poverty by brining in millions of peasants. What dont you understand about that????

2006: Voted for temporary amnesty for certain Central Americans Rep. Sanders voted against the Tancredo Amendment to H.R. 5441, the fiscal year 2007 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appropriations bill. The Tancredo Amendment would prohibit funds appropriated by H.R. 5441 from being used to administer extensions of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) amnesty for Guatemalans, Hondurans, or Nicaraguans. The Tancredo Amendment failed by a vote of 134-284-1 on May 25, 2006 (10:06 PM).
2007: Voted in favor of the DREAM Act amnesty for illegal aliens Sen. Sanders voted in favor of a motion to invoke cloture on S. 2205, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act of 2007. S. 2205 would reward up to 2.1 million illegal aliens with amnesty. The motion to invoke cloture failed by a vote of 52 to 44 (24 October 2007; 12:27pm).
2007: Voted against amendment to strip amnesty provisions from S. 1348 in 2007 Sen. Sanders voted against the Vitter Amendment to strip the amnesty provisions from S. 1348 (whose main sponsor was Sen. Harry Reid). The Vitter Amendment failed by a vote of 29 to 66 (24 May 2007; 5:59pm).
2007: Voted on Senate floor against amendment to create a disincentive to apply for amnesty Sen. Sanders voted against the Cornyn Amendment (SA 1250) to S. 1348 to discourage applicants from applying for amnesty by eliminating the provisions protecting the confidentiality of the information contained in amnesty applications and, instead, requires the sharing of application-related information upon the request of a law enforcement agency, intelligence, or national security agency, or DHS component when requested in connection with a duly-authorized investigation of a civil violation. The Cornyn Amendment passed by a vote of 57 to 39 (6 June 2007; 6:50pm).
2007: Voted on Senate floor against amendment to bar certain criminals from amnesty Sen. Sanders voted against the Cornyn Amendment (SA 1184) to S. 1385 (whose main sponsor was Sen. Harry Reid) to bar criminal aliens from receiving amnesty. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff has estimated that 15% of illegal aliens are criminals. The Cornyn Amendment failed by a vote of 46 to 51 (6 June 2007; 12:25pm).
2002: Voted to reward illegal immigrants with the Section 245(i) amnesty Rep. Sanders voted for H RES 365, a four-month extension of Section 245(i), an amnesty for illegal aliens that rewards illegal immigrants with residency by allowing certain illegal aliens to pay a $1,000 fine, to apply for a green card in this country, and to stay without fear of deportation. H RES 365 passed by a vote of 275 to 137.
1998: H.R.3553, co-sponsored legislation to award amnesty to illegal aliens. Rep. Sanders co-sponsored H.R.3553, which would have awarded amnesty to almost 1.2 million illegal immigrants, in addition to the almost one million who were granted amnesty in 1997. It would have sent a clear message to other would-be illegal immigrants that they might as well come to the U.S. and wait for Congress to reward them with legal status, too.
-
1999: Co-sponsored H.R.36, legislation to pass another amnesty. H.R.36 would have rewarded approximately one million illegal aliens from Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Haiti, including their spouses and children, with a direct path to U.S. citizenship.
1997: Voted against the Rohrabacher Motion to H.R. 2267 to kill the Section 245(i) amnesty Rep. Sanders voted against the Rohrabacher Motion to H.R. 2267 to kill the Section 245(i) amnesty that allowed certain illegal aliens to pay a fee and avoid a 1996 law\'s provision that punishes illegal aliens by barring them for 10 years from entering the U.S. on a legal visa as a student, tourist, worker or immigrant. The Rohrabacher Motion failed by a vote of 153-268.

He said specificially he is not in favor of increasing poverty by brining in millions of peasants. What dont you understand about that????
He is talking of the Guest Worker program and the proposed increase which he does not support. He supports amnesty and open borders as his record indicates.
-
You can post whatever garbage you want. You never debate, only post nosense and clips from whatever site you can drum up that you think proves some type of point.
This clip i showed you was about the amnesty bill last year and he was against it for the same reasons people like myself are against it, IT SUCKS!
-
Play your little word games all you want, the clip i posted completely destroyed your argument. Last years bill was amnesty and also increased the guest worker plan. He was against it because he was at least honest about the fact that it will increase poverty.
Of course, socialists like yourself could care less if we bring in millions of peasants to go on welfare since that is the socialists dream.

I posted his Voting record which supports Amnesty. He is NOT against amnesty, just the proposed increase in the guest worker program which was in the certain bill at hand. BERNIE SANDERS SUPPORTS AMNESTY. LOOK AT HIS VOTING RECORD!
What is wrong with you?

What is wrong with me is that I posted a clip of him directly going against the amnesty plan of last year and he said it would increase poverty. For some reason you refuse to believe him.

LISTEN to your clip. He is Against the increase in Guest Worker provisions in the bill and NOT against Amnesty, and states that the bill needs to be reworked because of this.
Again, look at his voting record and look how Anti-Immigration sites score him. They score him very low because he supports Open borders and Amnesty.

Immigration
Date Posted: 05/22/2007
"The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act addresses the concern all of us have about securing our borders, something I strongly support. It addresses the need to hold employers accountable for hiring illegal immigrants, something the Bush administration has neglected. It addresses the contentious and difficult issue of how we respond to the reality that there are some 12 million illegal immigrants in this country today, and carves out a path which eventually leads to citizenship, which I also support. What concerns me," Senator Sanders said, "are provisions in the bill that would bring low-wage workers into this country in order to depress the already declining wages of American workers. With poverty increasing and the middle-class shrinking, we must not force American workers into even more economic distress."[/b]

Hope that helped. ;)

Not really because you obviously heard something different than I did. By the way, whether its a guest worker plan or amnesty, both have the same effect.

You do a good job calling names like a 5 year old.
Why not watch the clip I posted and lets talk about why allowing in millions of peasants from mexico is or is not a good idea????
-
He isn't a right wing nutjob. He is telling it how it is. Open borders and the immigration problem is hurting this country. It's a shame that it is considered racism to say that it is. If there was an issue with Canada then I know I would be just as vocal about it as 333 would be.
That being said, TA I honestly for the most part like Bernie Sanders; he has a great many ideas. If I had the chance though I would never vote for him because of his stance on illegal immigration. By your own facts that you posted I don't agree with him. I think that is part of the problem with this country. Second, where does Bernie think this money will come from? I enjoyed watching Bernie ream Greenspan, but what is his thoughts on the current tax burden of Americans? Something has to give and we have a much bigger population than other nations with healthcare which obviously means more money will be needed.
-
Adonis, can you please name ONE government program that works.Name one thing they are involved with that has gotten better.Social security?Medicare?Medicaid? The post office?Everything they touch turns to crap, but you want them to be more involved.

Most of these posters have no concept of supply and demand economics. They are utterly clueless about this issue.
Big business and racial special interest groups keep "supplying" the USA with low wage low skilled workers who now are in direct competition with American workers. This supply has been unending. The people who are being imported are willing to work for less, live a lower standard of living, and dont plan on staying here and sending their money home.
Thus, the demand for native american workers is less and hence their salaries less because their is an over supply of these low wage immigrants.
Until we restrict illegal immigration, crack down on employers, and get serious about this issue, wages will remain stagnant for low skilled American workers.
How anyone does not understand this basic concept is beyond me.
-
And I forgot to mention, the group who gets screwed the worse out of this are blacks.
Black people should be livid over this policy that cuts their legs out from under them.
Its a disgrace.

National Institute of Health, NIH, is just one of the MANY, MANY, MANY government programs that work.
I have listed at least 50 departments in previous threads and will not bother to do your homework for you for now. Shame on you if you do not have the wherewithal to do a little research.

Most are wasteful, bloated, and filled with useless wastes of space called employees.

Its not a program, its an organization....under yet another bloated organization, HHS.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services and is the primary agency of the United States government responsible for biomedical and health-related research. Its science and engineering counterpart is the National Science Foundation.
As of 2003, the Institutes are responsible for 28%—about $28 billion—of the total biomedical research funding spent annually in the U.S., with most of the rest coming from industry.[1] The NIH is divided into two parts: the "Extramural" parts of NIH are responsible for the funding of biomedical research outside of NIH, while the "Intramural" parts of NIH conduct research. Intramural research is primarily conducted at the main campus in Bethesda in unincorporated Montgomery County, Maryland, and the surrounding communities. The National Institute of Aging and the National Institute on Drug Abuse are located in Baltimore, Maryland, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences is in Research Triangle, North Carolina. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases NIAID maintains Rocky Mountain Labs in Hamilton, Montana,[2] with an emphasis on virology.
The predecessor of the NIH began in 1887 as the Laboratory of Hygiene. It grew and was reorganized in 1930 by the Ransdell Act into the National Institute of Health (singular at the time). Today it is one of the world's foremost medical research centers, and the Federal focal point for medical research in the U.S. The NIH, comprising 27 separate institutes, centers and the Office of the Director, is part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The current NIH Acting Director is Raynard Kington.
The goal of NIH research is to acquire new knowledge to help prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat disease and disability, from the rarest genetic disorder to the common cold. The NIH mission is to uncover new knowledge that will lead to better health for everyone. NIH works toward that mission by: conducting research in its own laboratories; supporting the research of non-Federal scientists in universities, medical schools, hospitals, and research institutions throughout the country and abroad; helping in the training of research investigators; and fostering communication of medical and health sciences information.[/color]

Are you employed TA?
-
Economic impact
In 2000, a report from from a Joint Economic Committee of Congress outlined the benefits of NIH research. It noted that some econometric studies had given its research, which was funded at $16 billion a year in 2000, a rate of return of 25 to 40 percent per year. It also found that of the 21 drugs with the highest therapeutic impact on society introduced between 1965 and 1992, public funding was "instrumental" for 15

Not too bright. Not too bright at all folks.

Yeah 28% to much....way can't the private sector do this and stop wasting my money.....I gather u don't really pay taxes do u....or make enough to do so.

Again, TA are you employed?

Yeah 28% to much....way can't the private sector do this and stop wasting my money.....I gather u don't really pay taxes do u....or make enough to do so.
The Private Sector, Drug Companies, are more interested in Profit- treating the symptoms and not the disease.
When Profit is the ONLY motive, there is no purpose to cure a disease. My brother was a Pharmaceutical Rep for Wyeth for 8 years and the nonsense that I saw first hand was astounding.
Also, you should examine where the most important research has been done. I have worked in a few of the NIH labs in the triangle area. The total focus is on research and not profit. However, due to the economic impact of what we were doing there, a profit was being turned in that there is a direct correlation of populations health and a rise in economic prosperity. The same is true worldwide obviously.

Its amazing....Uncle Sam can't win in Iraq, can't do a thing under Bush..constitution violations etc etc....yet under Barry, things will work like a dream. Because appointing a few political hacks will make all the difference right? The same people who worked all these postions under Bush...are all still there. They were there under Clinton too...the same people who are idiots at HHS, will now run ur healthcare like a swiss clock right?
Yeah big bad pharmaceutical....they aren't made up of regular people...they're angry greedy trolls waaa. Gimme a break.

And that's exactly what the problem is with Bernie, among other things.
Illegal aliens drain a tremendous amount of resources out of the economy, increase crime [specifically violence towards women], and cause a host of other very tangible, calculable problems. Why would any person want that?
