Ron Paul's tha man!
-
Why isnt this man the president?Hes the only hope for the country.REAL hope, not that crap Obama feeds us.
-
I'll tell you EXACTLy why he isn't president.
Because FOX news trashed him at every possible chance. Repubs loved him. Young kids loved him. Anti-war ppl who ended up choosing obama loved him.
RP would have crushed Obama in an election. Without a doubt. he would have gotten every republican vote and the youth vote too.
Fox, hannity and crew bashed the shit out of him nonstop in the election coverage, remember?

You act as though I like Hannity or Beck.I dont like either of them.I only point out FOXs ratings and I despise Olberman and dyke maddow.
The problem with Ron Paul is this.People arent ready to hear it.Most faint when he says he would get rid of the department of education, the IRS,and about 20 other departnements.
Now,I must say,for a guy who says that FOX has huge ratings and zero influence,it seems odd you could blame them for Ron Paul not getting the nomination.

Ron Paul's tha man!
Es absolutemente verdad!

Fox has a lot of influence - among hard right repubs.
about 21% of the population, by last count ;)
I disagre "they weren't ready to hear it" because he kept winning the call-in polls on Fox itself. His crowds were the biggest. his anti-war view was in line with the majority of americans. A ten-term congressman, MD, military decorated, and he knew more about the economy than the rest of those skanks onstage telling us the economy was in great shape, back in feb and april.
FOX did it. plain and simple. Hell, they kept him out of a debate and let Thompson (with far smaller numbers) participate.
And RP had more $ than most of the other clods, didn't he? He cleaned up in donations, and money talks in presidential politics.
Fuccktwat hannity couldn't say "ron paul" without smirking. As a result, he's relegated to bitching about the dem winner each day, instead of a repub that would have truly inspired america, and the world.

Rob, you gonna vote for RP in 2012?

of course, if he runs, prob too old tho.

Man is a machine. Fact is, someone asked him about it (his age) and he just said he doesn't think about it.
He is openminded about 2012...a lot could happen till then...

quoted for the truth and nothing but the truth... Of course now Fox is buds with him :D

I'd like to see if 333386 and shootfighter and others agree with this.
RP was what the youth wanted, and what the base repubs wanted.
FOX sunk him.

Colmes was always nice to him. Never knew why Olberman never had him on...? ???

You just putting Olbermann out there as the only left leaning guy with a show or what? You know how many times Ron Paul was on left leaning shows? Way more than he was ever on all Fox shows combined and they loved him. Olbermann doesn't usually have guests. He usually has on the same clowns each show to bounce setup questions off.

If Ron had more financial backers, he would have gotten farther. He is still fighting hard to protect us from big government, hats off to the man of principle!
The powers that be in Washington (and in the media) wanted Obama to be president. That and an uprising of anti-Bush people. RP also needed to be a bit more charismatic to become president. I agree with the majority of his ideas...at least far more than Obama or McCain and thats why I voted for him and would happily do so again. We need more people like Ron Paul representing us....he's a no bullshit, will not be bought, will not play usual bullshit politics, and doesn't care much about his legacy kind of guy. He's probably too honest to be president and hasn't kissed the asses needed.
-
RP was well received on Bill Maher. Beck seemed to warm up to Ron after a couple interviews.
-
HA..Hugo has a brain.....anyway I think the "head" had him on alot...Cavuto. RP had a few wacky views other then that he's a conservative republican. But those views would never have worked..pulling out of Iraq quickly etc. I liked most of what he said but he was un-electable, much like Newt.

Great post...I think some latched onto his anti-Iraq stance and a few other things and he became popular. Atleast in the youth vote area.

Yup, FOX pretty much shit on him every chance but so did CNN, etc... CNN totally ignored him as well as Huckabee toward the end of the debates. I think Ron got about 12 minutes to answer in a hour in a half debate.
There were a lot of reasons he didn't get further during the elections, people's ignorance was a contributing factor and Bush made the republican party into a joke so he was guilty by association even though Ron is nothing at all like the neocon's.
-
The guy who shit on him the most was Glenn Beck.Thats when he was on CNN affiliate.Hed have him on and argue with him and treat him like a kook.Incredibly, now he seems to agree with every position Paul has.
-
But now RP is more well known than ever and people are catching on that GW>Obama never meant any change at all but the same old shit!
-
He said he's not going to run.
;)
-
Ron Paul was meant to lose ;)
-
Fox News is responsible for RP not becoming president? lol . . . .
-
RP was well received on Bill Maher. Beck seemed to warm up to Ron after a couple interviews.
Beck just called him a nut recently.
-
Fox News is responsible for RP not becoming president? lol . . . .
No, people like you are...

;)
do you know different?
-
Fox News is responsible for RP not becoming president? lol . . . .
They sure helped more than anyone else.

No, people like you are...
People like him would have gave him a more serious look if he hadn't been so villianized by Fox News.
-
No, people like you are...
Ding! The first accurate thing you've said all day.

Exactly...you just vote for people who love spending, war and do not represent the people! Good on you! ::)

He recently said that he wouldn't rule it out though in 3+ years much could change.

Nah. I just vote for one of the candidates who I think will make the better president. Do you vote and did you vote in this last election?

Yes, I wrote Ron Paul's name in on an absentee ballot.
-
BB = sadly, what's wrong with the repub party.
A complete refusal to admit FOX shat all over RP during the primaries.
Denial like this is why only 21% of Americans claim to be Repub, why Specter just jumped parties, and why 2010 is going to be yet another clock-cleaning for anyone with an (R) by their name.
Keep on rolling eyes and LOL'ing. The dems just get bigger and stronger, the longer you sit in denial. Palin is the most qualified Repub, RP sucks, and FOX news is the only honest media out there... yet your numbers are shrinking. Odd?

Yes and proud of it. :) Politically, I'm an independent. I'll vote for a person, regardless of party, if I think they're the best candidate.

So why didn't you vote for Ron Paul?

So why didn't you vote for Ron Paul?
Because he wasn’t on the ballot, had no chance of being elected, and I didn't want to waste my vote with some write-in candidate.
I like Ron Paul, but he never had a legitimate shot be president. Will never happen. And it has nothing to do with Fox News. ::)

really, they were pretty hostile to Ron Paul right out of the gate and all the way through. Not sure how you can say it had nothing to do with Fox News since so many republicans would have been introduced to the guy as a candidate through Fox.

Stronger......ur kidding right. This stuff swings constantly.....Obama is spending us into the ground. He's more popular then his policies...how long can that last. Its been 100 days....

Had zero to do with him not winning a single primary. Fox News doesn't have the power to create or eliminate a legitimate presidential candidate. His problems are much deeper than Fox News. He doesn't have the charisma or public persona to win a presidential election. He comes across as whiny when he debates. He doesn't appear very likeable. His delivery when making speeches is not very good. I know that is all about form over substance, but form over substance is what is largely responsible for our current president. If he could give speeches like Obama he would have done much better.

I'm not going to say that if Fox didn't railroad Ron Paul from day one that he would have won the nomination. That depends on what kind of moment he would have gained and we just can't tell that for sure now. But I will say they hurt him enough that he didn't have a chance to see if he could build that momentum. Are you honestly shocked that the media can effect elections? The accusation has been out there in a major way on both the left and right for a long time. It's now a shocker because Ron Paul's name comes up? I mean you cannot deny that Fox News was not friendly to Ron Paul whatsoever. There's a jillion videos on this all over the net. IMO Fox saw to it that he didn't have much of a chance at gaining momentum enough to win. If the negative seeds were not placed in the Fox Sheeple, they might have listened to him without bias. I'm saying Fox planted Bias, they do it all the time. others do too, but Fox excels.

Yes the media affects the outcome of elections. Buying a 30 minute infomercial that is run on almost every major network on the eve of the election is one example. The media asking softball questions and fawning all over a candidate is another example.
But even if what you say is true about Fox and Ron Paul, I doubt there was any sort of concerted effort by CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and/or C-SPAN to "railroad" him. He had plenty of opportunities to campaign, raise money, and participate in national debates.
The reality is that Ron Paul isn't electable. Unfortunately, you need more than good ideas to be a legitimate national contender.

Concerted effort by the others? No, they didn't talk about him that much, hardly at all. Fox is the only one that seemed to go out of their way to make the guy look bad.

It's both true and sad. This is the MTV society. You got to sing well, entertain AND look good.

In the primary? They wanted Hillary to win. It was generally accepted among thinkers on the right that Hillary would be the easiest to beat. So yea, they wanted Hillary to win the nomination. And What?

Then they are really not that powerful. Not powerful enough to decide a primary. The may have not liked RP, but RP wasn't news making either.

are you saying the Rev Wright footage running 2x per hour for 8 straight weeks was anything other than valid, brekaing news?

haha good point. "This just in to FOX viewers, exclusively, a new FOX news poll on just how much our viewers hate Obama..." Breaking news, baby.

you're talking about the dem nomination. Dems don't flock to Fox News, certainly not to get their news and views. Of course Fox would have more influence over the republicans. Hard to believe you actually just said this lol...

Still holds true. Aside from that, isn't it the top rated news?

Top rated for who? I guess we have to agree to disagree. I can't fathom the number of dems tuning into Fox for serious news and views is all that high infact from every experience I've have it has got to be downright low imo. I'm quite sure the number of republicans that take Fox serious is much much higher. They clearly imo have a much better chance at affecting a republican's chances than a dem.
