Kemper keeps about a dozen aluminum 45's and 3 sets of aluminum dumbells in a back room over at Diamond Gym.

The sets of aluminum dumbells?  A pair of 100's, a pair of 160's, and a pair of 200's.....

The guy is strong, but he is very blocky.I dont know if its his structure, or because he doesnt do full range of motion.I used to do 150lbs bumbeels for 8reps, 3 years ago when I was 290lbs, but I went all the way up all the way down.
The guy is strong as hell but his form and range of motion is awful. He is aonly doing half reps and pumping them out.
He should drop the weight 10 lbs and do full range of motion.
If you train "compact " you look compact..Guys who dont use full range of motion or stretch the muscle why doing each rep tend to look blocky, and more compact. He is very dense and has alot of size, I just doubt his muscle will flow well togetrher onstage.

First off

the spotter shoud get credit for at least 20-40 lbs on each dumbell @ 160

the 200's is the biggest joke I've seen

the dude could not rep a full single w/ them mark my words

he had an awfull time even balancing them

don't get me wrong : he is a strong dude

but those are tandem lifts at best

Thanks everyone for your MD approval! Yes once again MD will be on the front line on hardcore shit and I'm very excited to be a part of it. We will be bringing alot more intensity and some sick ass heavy weight being thrown around. I'm just getting warmed up. I'm currently about 8 weeks out from jr.nats and the MD fans will see how intense and hardcore I get as the show gets closer! I will Attempt 605x3 on the bench on no carbs for 10 weeks at a bodyweight of 230.

This is gonna be good hehe

hehe

Quote from: 1bigrod!
I have always been strong and I first bench pressed 600 when I was 23 at a body weight of 210. Later that year I was getting ready to do the Nationals and was front squatting and felt a pop in my left shoulder. I tried training through it for a few weeks but it never was the same. I pulled out of the show and after 3 dr's telling me to have surgery or quit lifting, I stopped competing in bbing. However, I never stopped training and always knew I would return to the stage and fulfill my dream to become pro bber. After years of just lifting moderate weight and making sure I warm up very slowly my shoulders are now my strongest body part

6 semi reps are amazing anyway.

o doubt

however

I truly think repping 200's are tehnically almost impossible

people who tried going above 100 know what I'm talking about ...because of the arch motion ( you never press straight up ) it's very diff to ballance even if you have the power

Bullshit. Range of motion doesn't change insertion points.

I could name a dozen pros right now who don't do "full" range of motion who "flow well". Actually most pros don't do full range of motion.

I agree wholeheartedly........qu arter reps at best.......if he would perform hammer presses with 4 plates and dumbbell presses with 160s, he would then probably be using full range of motion. IMHO

And even if you do so-called full range of motion it doesn't mean you're working the muscle through its full range of motion. Say you do a barbell bench. When the bar hits your chest the pectoralis isn't stretched out fully, like it would if you were doing a dumbell fly for example. A full squat doesn't work the quad through as long a range as a sissy squat. And etc.

So true, look at how Sergio used to do his preachers at the 1.32 mark, and Larry Scott did the same.I spent nearly 30 years training "full range" and "strict",and its only this last year that i`ve cheated the weight up and cut down the range of motion on biceps and triceps and my arms are the biggest they`ve ever been.

well let's see, he's bigger than you, he's thicker than you, he's more shredded than you, he's stronger than you, he has more shape to his muscles than you, shall i go on with the way he owns you?

no he's not.

maybe   a little   definetly thicker in the waist, i guarantee i'm way wider with a smaller waist

no he's not.  he's on gear  so he's a little more vascular

yes he is. but he's not as strong as you'd like him to be. that video is a joke

no he doesn't.....i destroy him on structure and shape.  no contest

You are also leaving out the small fact that he's walking pharmacy and i'm not ;) and i look better

if he is obviously juiced to the gills, and you look better than him (and you did say before you were his size with wider shoudlers and smaller waist)... then you would be obviously juiced to the gills as well.

so either he isnt obviously on juice, you dont look better than him, or you are obviously on juice.   only one of those three options.

you said hes obviously on juice and that you look  better..so ther leaves one

or maybe i have better genetics naturally so i can approach him size wise (i am not as thick) but my better structure makes me APPEAR bigger because i have a better frame for BBing.  that dude is a thick ass  fireplug.  I'm not, i'm almost 6 feet tall with wider clavicles.

this is a pointless conversation.  To be honest i shouldn't have downed the guy.

Hey Guys,
I have met Rodney on more than one occasion as he too trains in NJ.  He has always been more than polite and never once showed any signs of rudeness to others in the gym.  Regardless as to whether or not his physique appeals to each and every one of you, it must be said with certainty that he is devoted to the lifestyle in that he never cheats on his diet and always enters a show with incredible conditioning.
Rodney postponed competing recently despite being just a couple weeks out and in great condition due to the birth of his child.  He is happily married with a very demanding business yet still spends a great deal of time with his young children.
One thing I know for sure, is that Rodney is very approachable while in the gym and often answers questions posed to him by non-bodybuilders.  He is gracious with his time and doesn't display any arrogance.
Finally, I have seen him move very large weights with form and reps that do make you want to stop and watch as it is no everyday site.  Given all that, I would say Rodney is the type of guy we could use more of to promote BB in a more positive manner.
