Yeah, tons and tons and 'knowing' is a strange term. I studied Ancient Greek for a few years and retain some but that language is so difficult that unless you study it everyday you will forget a lot. I guess kind of like Kanji. Nicht umsonst war es die Sprache der Philosophen.
One example of a European language I don't know is embarrassingly Hungarian. I have the passport but only know a dozen words, however I plan to rectify that in the future. :)
