I am a man who likes to have cereal with semi skimmed milk.
If im serious about dieting should i cut this out? Why?

You don't need to cut it out. Like with sodium, you only need to worry about it if you want to get into contest condition (water retention), and even then it's questionable if it makes a significant difference.

Anything in the single digits as far as bodyfat is concerned is never an "only"
Cut the lactose sugars.
Milk = Lactose = Sugar= fat (.)

Lactose (disaccaride) is broken down to the monosaccarides galactose and glucose = stimulates insulin (glucose)
(Most adults don't have the enzyme lactase, so in theory the lactose should drain the body from water through osmosis and give you a drier look. Just in theory.)

That would be "disaccharide" (genius) and the absence of the lactase enzyme in the body would make the undigested lactose drain through your ass.
So, in theory, you would have a drier look, and would be "sharting".

I cut out dairy products when dieting, no specific reason, just never found a place for it. In the off-season I don't really have it either (I used to though), but now I'm thinking of adding it back in with my protein shakes just as a way to up the calories...

As we all have experienced - diarrhea and gases!
The osmotic gradient lactose "creates" drains the body of water and sodium resulting in the flat look...
You can "get back" the lactase-enzym by drinking a lot of milk.. it took me several months before my body started to activate the enzyme.
But as I stated - "Just in theory." :)

Milk is no better or worse than any other source of carbs. A cup of skim milk a day won't kill you. Seriously, where do these bodybuilding dieting "rules" come from? ::)

if you want to get in your best condition..Cut out ALL sugars and skim milk is loaded with sugar..there is more sugar in it then protein..

For the guy 4 weeks out from being an "oiled man in thong" that may be true, but for the average joe dieting to see his abs I'll repeat what I said earlier: a cup of skim milk a day won't kill you.

For your application, one cup of skim milk in the morning is more than okay. People are overly concerned about the sugar content and the glycemic response. They fail to realize that once protein and/or fat is added to the equation, the glycemic index can be thrown out the window. There is also the sodium content, but that too is negligible in the grand scheme of things (for your application).

LOL. A guy who has never seen his abs, will never be caught dead with his shirt off in public, doesn't even give the illusion of any type of fitness and conditioning, is now giving training advice.
Lose the fat, quit drinking bodily fluids, and break a sweat once in a while.
So actually, my fat, gay, coward; if you want to achieve some level of conditioning and functional ability -- to actually increase athletic performance and not stand in front of a mirror and flex -- then I can give you details. You must have missed my calf training thread. Let me know if you want to have any hope of ever seeing even a hint of your abs.

I once drank a 1/2 gallon of skim milk only to get the worst diarrhea in my life. The whole night I continually squirted out hot streams of endless brown water doodie. Some of it splashed out of the bowl too.

I don't touch dairy - only because cow's milk is produced by an animal that weighs almost a ton....
To feed another animal (calf) that will one day weigh almost a ton.
Not to mention bovines have a four compartment stomach (ruminant) that can break down that ish.

But to answer you question,,,the wayward frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles on top (yay!) is GHOST for me five weeks out.
