Absolutely.

Changing dollar values, 400-500 = a better estimate.

Dining to get laid is a worthless pursuit. Should be done for the love of the food and for being a snobbish bastard.

It was our anniversary. I'm married so I don't gotta impress anyone anymore. In fact, I'm think of getting fat now.  ;D

The point of going to a nice restaurant is to enjoy the finest of food/drinks and to get a nice experience, not to impress someone.

You really come unglued when someone mentions impressing someone else.

I've learned my lesson.  ;D

 8)

Think about it: The mundane day to day activities = usually forgotten. You remember the times in your life when you did something out of the ordinary, so enjoying what you like to enjoy (culinary experiences, skydiving, shooting guns, whatever) and doing it well is worth the cost once in a while.

This chick pursued me for two years..

I finally relented and she won my heart - had avoided her as she was sexy but had a rep as a  crank who seduced dudes and then dumped them ..

We dated a few times and I eventually bought her a really expensive dinner thinking this was the night we went back to her place (I was living with mom  :-X  )..

The bitch was greedy..but I thought it was going to be worth it..

After filling her face she told me she thought we should remain as friends

All I ever got from her was a brief kiss and a quick feel of her ass..

No woman has hurt me like she did..

True story ..

Meal would have been about 250 USD

I've spent two thousand before. High rollin. Per Se. El Bulli. Shits not cheap. I went to Jean Georges the other night and just had dessert. Well eight of them. Plus a martini and a bottle of bubbly. That was six hundred.

Yep... but getting fucked over by some bitch is part of life. Sadly, it's meant that I've carried the fit of pique from that rejection for years and have made a few women who dared to care about me, suffer..

I once shared a Bob bowl with an iron broskie who's 53 and lives in the back of his van near Golds gym, where he trains everyday.

I never really kept tabs. Not boasting whatsoever. It's just what I do. It's my business. You have to continue tasting to continue educating your palate. But you have to include booze here. Thats adds a significant amount to a check.

Do you introduce yourself beforehand as a chef to get special treatment?

I have spent around 100 bucks ( just food, we don't drink) a handful of times taking my woman to a nice place for a special date.

About $450, excluding the chalet cost.  You can spend $200 quite easily on an 'average upscale' meal in Perth and be horribly disappointed by the quality.  Food sucks in this town, except for here:
