Amazingly, the article that came from stated that he only suffered a leg injury...didn't say if it was severe. Personally, I would have started drinking all the free liqour i could knowin that it was my last day on the job. Not to mention the fact that i wouldn't want anyone to think i could do anything that fucking stupid while sober. lol

This statement (not picking on you) is what's wrong with todays society. It's not the operaters fault for gassing a multi ton machine into a support beam, it's the companies fault for not having a more secure structure, that can sustain catastrophic impacts, due to negligent driving!!!
This is pretty simple, imo. You see the machine launch a puff of smoke from the exhaust when the driver hits the throttle by mistake. It's 100 percent the operators fault. Now, one could argue that providing the fork lift operator has a spotless driving record, that what happened was a freak accident, but the fact of the matter is that Mr operator royally fucked up!
