When do you prefer to train (morning, afternoon or evening) and why?
I would prefer to train bright and early in the morning. That is when I feel like I have most of my energy. However, due to my schedule it usually doesn't work out that way. I try to avoid training at night at all costs.

as soon as i get out of bed i eat a litlle then train.....if i wait i never get a good workout.....so usually within the hour i wake up...

I guess this leads to my next question: what do you eat in the morning? For some reason I never have an appetite in the morning. My morning meal is a protein shake, a little oatmeal, some fruit and vitamins. I'm just not hungry in the morning.

i eat a 8-10 sirloin as soon as i wake up......and it is cooked very, very rare the night before, and i always eat it cold....and usually any carb will do....lately i just eat 2 rice cakes with it...i also take some fish oil, body quick, and stimerex at this time......when i get to the gym i walk 13 minutes on the treadmill with the incline set on 10....i do the treadmill just to waste time, and give my supplements a chance to start kickin!!!

Thats confusing. I usually work out about noon, hangover is worn off enough to train but still lingers enough that sweating it out makes me feel better.

Yes, I often make sausage, peppers and onions. When I do make it, I usually eat it for dinner. In all honesty, certain foods make me shit more than others, and I hate using public restrooms. So, when I'm not home, I tend to eat food that doesn't make me shit :-X Although I don't like chicken all that much, I'll eat it when I'm not home.

Ahhh, makes sense now, especially being allergic to eggs. Yeah, that pretty much wipes out all breakfeast foods for the morning.
But yeah, I try to incorporate a lot of red meat into my diet as well. I feel its a better protein source than chicken or turkey.

Well, I think turkey and chicken taste like cardboard. Even when I try to season it, it still taste pretty dull to me. Then again, I am not much of a cook to begin with.

My last gym was 24 hours, new one closes. When I moved recently I was checking out new gyms and I went to an Anytime Fitness and the manager whore was showing me around and she said if you come at night you have to wear a beeper and if you are attacked, you press it and SHE would come right away. When I moved recently I was checking out new gyms and I went to an Anytime Fitness and the manager whore was showing me around and she said if you come at night you have to wear a beeper and if you are attacked, you press it and SHE would come right away. I laughed right in her face, couldn't help it.

because of my work schedule I go whenever I can and thats usually in the middle of the day or late at night.. I prefer to go during the day because the gym is mostly empty...

thats awfully dickish of them...i can honestly say that when i was a patrol officer i never did that...i go running every Tues,Thur, and sat morning at the local college track....and 1 time i had a officer drive onto the track, drew his weapon, and started giving me commands.....i just told him "you know your about to lose your job, right?"....he told me "shut your mouth guy".....i just stood there quietly laughing to myself...when he approached me and saw who i was he freaked out and started apologizing.....he broke so many policies in that one act that it was ridiculous....i took his badge, and ID card from him right there, and told him he was suspended and that he needed someone to come pick him up cause he wasn't ever going to drive one of our patrol cars again..he was fired within 24 hours...

I can't traain effectively in the morning. I have less energy, my joints ache, and I simply don't have the focus.
I train immediately after work. I feel like it really does take a full day of eating, stress, and dealing with people's bullshit to power me through a good workout. Of course, I have an office job, so by midday, I am on the edge of my seat looking to get out of there and tear it up at the gym.

Currently around 5pm. Finish work at 4pm and that's normally the time i get to the gym. Place is busy enough that there's a good atmosphere and i can be finished before the early evening rush comes in.
Prior to that i was training at around 8:30pm.(the gym opens 7am-10pm Mon-Thurs and 7am-8pm Friday). It was nice to have the place quiet and not have to wait on anything but it was also a pain in the ass dragging myself back out of my house and down there.
For a few months there i worked 10am-6pm every second week. I quite enjoyed being able to train at 7am, either getting my days training out of the way then, just doing cardio, or doing the first part of a double split routine. it was never the same training that early though. Poundages were nowhere near what they would be later in the day, although it did leave me feeling great throughout the day.
