thx. i got a ways to go though. if and when i get lean, i would like to stay lean and try to gain weight without putting on so much fat. its a real pain to diet it off, and you lose a ton of strength in the process. probably easier to maintain your gains if you put it on leaner.
theres a guy at the gym who is doing a show in august, which im considering, but i think ill probably be moving for work again here soon and will be in a diff. state.
anyone live near memphis?
I would advise you to get with the guy some that is doing the show in AUG and enter.

Looking good bro (no homo). Good luck on the diet. I'm actually doing the same thing. I haven't gotten down to under 10% since I competed last in 2001. I started my diet/cardio two weeks ago. I'm still allowing 1 cheat meal each week but it's only been a chicken salad or sushi so not really that bad of a cheat. Stay strong!

since i was 12. didnt start looking like i trained until i was around 20 though. im 25 at the moment.
the diet is a strict low carb diet.
breakfast: 2 cans tuna with a few ritz crackers and a touch of ranch dressing
lunch: 1 lb of chicken breast
dinner: 8 oz chicken breast
evening: 6 eggs
before bed: 2 cans tuna with a few ritz crackers and a touch of ranch dressing
occassionaly ill have a steak dinner with green beans for my evening meal when i feel like i need a "pick me up"
still drinking half a gatoade or more during workouts in order to replenish glycogen.
that's nice... I'm trying to get the size, I'm ripped and have a good shape but I want that full roundness to come into play. Been training for lil over 5 years, started doing 5 day splits HIT training like 2 years ago, 4 day splits now days. in finland you're not gonna sourvive without getting a hard fever once or twice a year, that's my main enemy now, I'm trying to eat lots of oatmeals now days, fed up with getting fevers >:(

Probably as near (relatively) as anyone on GB. I live in Nashville - about a 3-hr drive on I-40. Be careful in Memphis, it is one of the most murderous cities in the US.

do you do any cardio when you diet? ive heard cardio is the enemy of all things muscular...so i havent done any so far on this diet. ive been tempted to do some though...in order to "speed" things up, but have resisted that urge in order to preserve leg size.
Hell yeah I do cardio when I diet!!!! And it gets to 2 cardio sessions a day! Low intensity in the morning, High Intensity in the evening after lifting! Its a bitch, but I get fat in the off-season so I gotta do it like that!

its not that im not willing to put in the effort, its just i hear it melts away muscle....along with fat.
Yeah there's definitely some muscle loss, esp with doing 2 cardio sessions a day. Its a disadvantage of getting so fat in the off-season. I just try to keep the supplements tight, the BCAA's high, and hope for the best!

Decided to snap myself too. I'm about 200 at 5'9 and need to lose at leat 15 pounds to be real lean. I'm finding it a bit harder to lean out at 47 than I did years ago. Then again, it could be the several glasses of red wine I drink every night that's not helping. Need to cool it on that.

you have some good potential there if you ever wanna start juicing. keep lifting dude.. you have muscle quality that will only get better and better.. the fact that your legs have three visibly seperated portions on the fron(outer sweep, middle V, and teardrop) when your holding that much fat and water is a good sign. look at gys like kyomu has cant achieve that look even at 5% bodyfat

You've got a ways to go dude. I cannot quantify exact amounts of bodyfat but you don't have enough muscle tone IMO. I would lift heavy for a few weeks to build some density then diet ultra strict and keep training poundages up. You can look real good in 3 months if you bust your ass. Quit drinking also.

Perhaps...but I think 180 would put me at around 5% as long as I dont lose too much muscle along the way.
took my bodyfat before i started with a hand held machine (not hte most accurate, but its all i had available for the most part).
basically, lean body mass was around 171 lbs...so at 180 thats 9 lbs of fat. 9 / 180 = 5%
5% at 180 aint too bad for someone 5'9 and natural. a nice goal would be to be around 200 lbs at 5% someday.

SH, you look swole dude and you have some good lines and definition even at a higher BF%, which is pretty impressive...but theres no way you could be 180lb, 5'8 at 5% natural it impossible...clean definitely but not natural. At 5'8 you would have to be around the low 160s to be near 5%. I dont mean to be a jerk but your physique looks like you have done AAS in the past. Either way you still look good man.

i hope so, but ive dieted down before and as a natural, it seems like the legs lose a lot of size. Been squatting pretty consistently though, so hopefully i can maintain what ive got.
Even if they do lose their size, they look like they will have balanced development and real good cuts.

actually, neither fixed it up. using "save picture as" doesnt save hte pic at the same pixel quality taht it had in the original when it was uploaded, so you lose sharpness when you goto enlarge the photo. If you had hte original and zoomed in, then it would maintain most of its quality, but using a "save as" copy doesnt work too well.
Actually, I got rid of your belly there Beavis... not talking pixelation and JPEGs here. Bunghole.

I don't get the high nipple thing some have mentioned but I don't really focus on that. Some people here comment on my large nipples. I've never noticed nor cared. Seems kind of gay to me but this is getbig.
