All those new training technique are all just bullshiet. If u want to be good at waving rope then i think its a good exercises. Training is pretty simple, if u wanne be good at benchpress, do benchpress, good at running, do running, good at high jump, do high jump, clean and jerk, do clean and jerk :)

U can do some sort of different excersises with smal variation, but nothing more.

Well, its easy. Great benchers do nothing but benchpress in different ways, half, chains, rubberband, explosive benches, heavy benches. Sprinters practice starts, run with a sled etc. The only thing a gymnast is doing every day is exercises in their rings, floor, pommel vault etc. A lot of fighters only train fighting and look like nothing, and then u have the guys who do a lot of weightraning and look like a hero with ripped muscles, and they still don't get better. People always looking for some magic stuff, there is no magic stuff. Training is simple, the records from the 70ies is still around and with all high evolution science, drugs, doctors and stuff we still don't break some 30 year old records. In swimming we do, I don't know why :)

I think your excercise is good if u are tired of regular training and want some blood rusching through your arms and shoulders, but not if you want to be good in some specific sport.

The movement appears somewhat analogous to an arm-bike, which can be quite a workout - stimulating the arms in a way they're not used to.

I would imagine these give the Type I endurance fibers a good workout if done long enough.
Wonder how difficult a section of fire hose or even garden hose would be if used in this capacity.

Why in the f**k would I want to pay $5k for a bike or treadmill when I can get BETTER results from thick ropes and a prowler or pushing a truck? There's nothing "cutting edge" JNN, it basically going back to the basics (exept for maybe the ropes) of training before age of machines. One of the exercises I just added to my strongman camps was a wheelbarrow, we add anywhere between 150-250lbs of 45lb plates and have to zig zag between cones for about 60 yards.

Don't get me wrong JC, I still believe in barbells and dumbells as well, this is just an added tool for some metabolic work at the end of our training sessions. Our strongman stuff is done once per week and some might be added in during the week for some dynamic effort training.

Dunno, I don't train gymnasts, but I would have to assume that since most started as young children they don't need any extra resistance by the time they're in their teens.

Regardless of methods that people deem as exercise, unless done results don't happen. Oldschool working out with dumbells and barbells is what many here prefer, but if they aren't excelling or getting better, then the work ethic sucks. It's about the person not the method.

Some good ideas for coach to go with being thrown around.  Maybe gymnastics will be the new fad soon. Coach can come up with some type of scam to lure them in too. Hell while your at it coach you should start training water polo players and cyclists just make up some more lies as to why you are qualified to train them. After all its about getting as much money as possible no matter what half truths or lies you tell.

why would you need to, training doesn't have to be complex and difficult to figure out, it is rather simple, just like a diet, you don't need a rocket scientist to tell you what to do.



you dont get muscle endurance in your shoulders/arms etc from riding a fucking BIKE. this isn't bodybuilding dumbass.

Shitload different in having good cardio and muscle endurance.

Iv'e been doing this exercise lately....it's called "Tying your Shoelaces"....Excellent for hand-eye coordination and finger training.  I have all my "Athletes" do it...A few pro Chess players have said it really helps with moving the pieces around
