What training related ailments do you currently face? How are you treating them? Were they just a result of long-term use, or did you do something stupid/regrettable in the gym?
-
reoccuring back and neck pain but nothing real severe. I use to break my form while trying to get one more rep during deads while bodybuilding and powerllifting. Lateral epicondylitis AKA tennis elbow from heavy pressing combined with archery shooting. I won't even start with my knees ;D(not all from lifting though). Extensive warmup for upper/lower body and no heavy weight squats seems to work for me.
-
i am currently nursing an injured right elbow......for that I use Tiger Balm.....seems to work.....for now anyway!
-
None - never had any injuries since I started training with my head and not my ego
-
Running fucked up my knees. I am treating it by not running and it worked. :D I can get under a squat bar with as much weight as possible with no knee problems, but run a few miles and they start to go to shit again.
-
Strained my lower back few weeks ago.
Usually squat ass to grass, but to get by, i've stuck a seat under my ass and have found no issues there
Left out deads until this morning, and fookin' strained the thing again!!! >:(
Was digging the garden at the weekend, so reckon that set me up for a fall
-
Currently no injuries. I intend on keeping it that way too.

Severe right extensor pull (brevis) from tire flipping about a month ago. Having a hard time curling a 25lb dumbell. Turned it once, on the second turn felt a "pop" and that was the end of that. But I did manage to flip that big bastard twice ;D

bad right knee from taking bumps in a ring
a bit of cauliflower ear (it's not of "Ishida" or "Sakuraba" proportions but still I got alittle bit of it)

. Do you still workout big guy?

chronic lower back pain from a few car accidents, and right shoulder from crashing my bike going 110. neither of them really act up except when i do deadlifts :-\
-
Always a danger of shoulder problems but haven't faced them seriously for over a year. Came from swimming when I was young and possibly a genetic disposition. If I feel a problem starting I just don't lift at all for a week or two, go light on returning, and avoid overhead and incline bench. Also do rotator cuff work and stretching, but not as often as I ought to.
Recently started with semi-low bar squats and really felt it in the lower back but it was a good ache. Only doing them once a week tho.

absolutely "little fella"

Partially Torn Labrum and Rotator Cuff. I injured myself about 6 years ago doing seated military press behind the head..
Normally I would clean from the ground and had done them for over 14 years with no injury, but I had just moved up to 255 and started to lose the weight after the first few reps then heard a tear.
I haven't been able to lift very heavy since. The injury is borderline for surgery. If I attempt to train heavy, it get painful quick, but I have learned to avoid certain exercises like front raises and have learned how to position the bar on benches so that I have been able to get some strength back.
I can do militaries with dumbells at a slight incline as well without pain as long as the movement is very controlled.
Overall the injury sucks but it has forced me to really examine every movement I use and I have seen some good results.

Total lack of injuries! I'm more of a high repper though. I don't remember the last time I tried to max out on anyhting or even go under 3 reps.
-
Right elbow hurts on 'locked in' tricep movements, right wrist has a strained tendon that collapsed on me doing lateral raises last year...heard a pop and the weight just fell from my hand >:(, mid back injury doing seated barbell raises w/out spotter and now that injury keeps me from bringing heavy weight over my chest like cleans, shrugs, raises, etc. Lower back has been aching recently and I think it's caused by compensating for the middle back injury...sigh...I can DL but back gives out on t-rows. I think the message here is DONT F*"CK WITH YOUR BACK!
Ironically, it gets worse if I don't go to the gym 3/4 times a week to keep it loose and stretched :-\ It appears that I will have to lift weights until I die, lol.
Shoulders and legs are rock solid though! 8)

Got armbared last week, still can't do any pressing movements. Been doing a lot of mountain biking/running (training for an event in June) and both knees are killing me.
-
I'm 23, and happy to say that I have no injuries. I have "popped" a shoulder out a few times, but never bothered me more than few minutes after.
-
Back when I trained nicely 3x per week, I never got hurt.
As soon as I got serious, I started training 5 days a week, I started getting hurt (little tweaks and strains) all the time.

If you have training injuries.. you’re doing it wrong.
-
Left wrist ALWAYS hurts! But its gotten better from how it was in the past!
Right shoulder hurts sometimes during pulldowns!
-
Back ,ankle , forearm , shoulder.
-
right shoulder is perpetually screwed, have thrown my back out 3 or 4 times, and i have constant reoccuring tendonitis in my elbows
-
i fucked up my lower back at the gym a month ago....i sat down to watch tv while i drank orange juice, and my back fucked up......but it happened at the gym so i count it as a training injury ;D
if i were to count all the gym injuries i have ever had?.......does getbig have that kind of bandwidth?

I've had 3 injuries that forced short layoffs in 35 years, all occured after I turned 40. Torn pec, meniscus and this damn forearm strain.
-
Recently tore my hamstring. Not that bad but there was bruising. Then a short while later tore my vastus medialis. Thankfully it was relatively minor too but there's a small indentation there now.
And of course constant minor aches and strains all over my body. :D
-
Biceps tendinitis; ischial bursitis; elbow effusion; & Chondromalacia. (Spinal fracture from Olympic lifts healed years ago.)
-
partial torn left front deltroid
arthritis right knee
that's all
-
Old injuries = torn pec and quad.
New injuries = old man hips, sore knees, perpetual lack of flexibility in hamstrings and muscles bunching up in my quads all effing day.
-
Damn snx, 2 & 4 sould like a radiology reading!
