It was an epic humiliation.
Rampage had third degree indian sun burns around his stomach as well as scratch and bite marks from Rashad holding onto him.
Reportedly, he is considering retirement due to the serverity of his injuries.

A PRIDE legend who held the UFC belt for a while. Says a lot about the talent level of the UFC if Rampage was champ. That same belt which is now being held a former Pride legend that you wrote off. You really showed us with your stellar MMA knowledge on that one ::)

I was going for Rampage and I will admit that Evans dominated Rampage in this fight. Call it what you want, but Evans looked like the better fighter from any aspect. It is undeniable that Rashsad had a better gameplan. That made a HUGE difference.

From what I am reading, Rampage admits his mistake. I was rooting for Rampage too....but he got dominated by Rashad.

Speaking at the UFC 114 post-fight press conference, Rampage Jackson admitted that taking part in the upcoming blockbuster "The A-Team" hurt his chances to earn a shot at Shogun Rua's newly won UFC Light Heavyweight title. Rampage said "now I can almost regret I did that damn movie", expressing his frustration with being unable to weather the storm against Rashad Evans.
Coming after a long layoff, Rampage struggled to find his trademarked aggression that helped him to win 30 bouts in his Mixed Martial Arts career. Jackson's last fight was against Keith Jardine at UFC 96, as Rashad Evans fought twice since then, against the top Light Heavyweights Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva.
Rampage may find himself in the cage with "The Dragon" Lyoto Machida in his next fight, in what could be one of the most anticipated striking battles in UFC history. Both fighters are looking to bounce back from defeats in their last fights, with sights on another run at the top of the UFC Light Heavyweight division.

A "Pride" fighter is someone who established their career in Pride, like Fedor or Crocop. Of Anderson's 30 fights, only 5 were in Pride, two of which he lost ::)
BTW, 11 of those fights have been in the UFC...all wins.

Rampage was an above-average fighter in Pride but hardly a legend. He didn't win a belt until he embarrassed that joke of a 205 division in the UFC. And now a true Pride legend (Shogun) holds the UFC belt. :)

i never said rampage was a "weak" pride fighter, i said he wasn't a "legend" pride fighter, he never held a title there or won a tournament
dan mostly fights at 185 anyways, maybe dan finally got old and maybe jake shields is becoming an elite fighter, still doesn't change the fact that he won all but one of his ufc fights

It's not so much that, but let's all just discuss the upcoming fight, whatever it may be. Not whether a defunct Pride was better than UFC etc. Or whether Brock is better than Fedor.
THis whole board needs to have better ground rules. I like to read threads, but so many of them get diverted with bullshit that it sometimes makes reading them a pain in the ass.
Anyway, i've decided that i'm getting the PPV. I wish they were a tad cheaper though.
