Leafy you look great, though since bodybuilding is about illusion - set the camera a bit further down, stand closer and under a little light so you get shadows to make you look bigger/more ripped.
yes, that camera angles make him look short....i find it hard to believe he is 5' 11'' but will have to accept what he is saying...no way of disproving it....however, camera angle or not, he has the overall look of a short guy....

Thanks friend. My friend shot the pictures so he didn't care. People always complain about my lighted shots and say they can't see anything so i thought id change things up.

I usually lie and tell people 5'10 because everyone lies about their height and they will blow me out of proportion and tell me in 6'1

A guy in my gym is about 5'5 he says he is 5'8.
I tell him I am 6'1 so noway he is 5'8 and see what he says lol bites everytime

Don't forget to pull up the fucking trunks on the sides. Seriously, it's a small trick but will make your waist look shorter.

Also,in the front and back relaxed shots,don`t flare your arms so much.........put them down a bit and palms should be facing forwards.
Even pros look like retards with the exagerrated "relaxed" lat spreads they do.
On the front and back double biceps shots,turn BOTH hands in towards your ears................give s the poses better lines.
Minor details,not hard to master in a week,but will improve your look onstage.
Stay focused,you`re gonna` be hard to beat,and good luck. ;)

every show that he posts pics for, he has a few mor lbs of mass, better conditioning , better balance
you got to give it up for someone who is working diligently enough to make consistent improvements............ .especially in a sport like bodybuilding............ .bodybuilding is one of those sports that people tend to make a lot of gains at in the beginning, and then stagnate
most people on here probably have not made any discernible progress physique-wise in years

Leafy has mastered the art of conditioning via diet and no cardio, something so few have the wherewithal to do. This aspect is VERY important as it not only preserves muscle, it makes the whole overall process of calorie reduction more palatable and obviously much easier. Its just one less thing to focus and waste time on.
As you can see, Leafy is by no means done in terms of adding muscle. Should he stick with it further he will keep progressing, ultimately to the Heavies where his small waisted and small jointed structure will dominate as it is somewhat a rarity in the upper leagues. There are too many doofus boned people as it is and this is a welcomed change.

Looking good - conditioning looks to be there and the physique as a whole is well proportioned - maybe calves could do with some more size and possibly bigger arms needed too but overall a very good physique. Good luck! 8)

I eat eggwhites, rice, chicken, sweet potatoes and alot of beef. I get about 2 lbs of beef a day, a lb of chicken, and 2 cups of egg whites. Macro wise im at 300 grams of protein, 300 of carbs, and 30 grams of fat. I dieted on about 2700-3k calories this year. Now im like maybe 2600 or so. I am going no lower then that. I think the main reason why i have had to do no cardio is because i didnt gain alot of weight in the offseason. Everything has been steady the whole diet.

Depends on the time of day but i havent been under 183 yet. Usually im 188 but im thinking after water manipulation i could be 180. We will see. I will continue to update getbig as the week goes on.

No everything has been the same. Nutrient timing is important post work out. A protein is not a protein. You need a full amino acid profile for optimal growth.

Last year was hit cardio twice a week on 2000 calories. The year before that was cardio everyday. This year i did not one session of cardio. I prefer doing a diet cardioless..... its much easier and i can focus on heavy lifting. I am a week out and still doing 300lb bench presses, repping 275 on should press, etc. I think heavy weight helps preserve muscle mass... i feel safe doing it too but sometimes if my tendons feel tight or i feel dry i have to lighten it considerably.

Call me a skeptic, but I don't think that would work for a lot of people. It sounds "too good to be true." I think you have to be predisposed to be lean.

My critique.
great legs, good sweep and separation. Upper body is hard and abs are dialied in. Your could be thicker in the upper body but since you are in condition, you should do fine in the novice class. NOW, be sure to put on a few coats of pro tan over the last 2 days.
Don't move back and forth or shake when doing mandatory poses in comparisons and don't relax EVER when on stabe with your class. From the second you get on stage, face the judges and stay big and flexed. Good luck.

I judged lots of Jr and novice classes and since he is pretty cut, he will match up fine and look decent on stage in comparisons.
The biggest weakness is being smooth with lousy legs , Leafy has great wheels for his size and is in condition.
he is going for a regional novice wt class win, NOT the USA , c'mon ::)

Howard you have been to enough competitions and seen a 5'8" guy at the same weight and similar conditioning destroy guys 5'11" and over because they look fuller and more muscular...I am not saying he won't do well, just saying guys in his weight class have potential to out mass him....

You will be just fine in the novice class. REMEMBER that guys that are not as ripped with smooth legs often look a lot more impressive back stage then they do on the stage under the lights. Good luck.

you look amazing, please please please don't do anything crazy with insulin/gh etc trying to grow. keep doing what you have been, increase calories a little, lift a little heavier and you'll keep growing.

I strongly disagree, as I think he has excellent genetics for bodybuilding: small joints, small waist, wide shoulder and he responds well to the training and diet (and anabolics?). Suggesting that any hardworking young guy can reach this level is absurd, most may get to be just as big and perhaps as lean, but not with the same lines and proportions as Leafy.
I'm very impressed by your continuing progress Leafy! You've brought your legs up from a weak point to your strong point.

There is no such thing as an "incomplete protein". Just differing amounts and levels of amino acids in a protein structure. By default (eating like a normal person) you will meet and exceed your protein requirement/profile.

I can tell as an actual NPC judge ( since I am not judging your show), that your conditioning will impress the judges.
You are a young guy just getting started in a Novice division. No judge expects to see a monster walk out there in that kind of division.
Noel Fuller is a great trainer and seems like a good guy ( based on various forum posts).
Listen to his advice to the letter , he got this far. Good luck
