Title: Bodybuilding - Is it worth it ?
Post by: Fatpanda on August 17, 2010, 02:56:18 PM
My name is Fatpanda and this is my story:

Last week while doing 1 arm rows with an ungodly amount of weight, i felt a disc slip out from my spinal column at least 1-2". As the pain seared through my body i used it to make that weight my bitch  >:(

the pain has came and gone every day since - but i have not stopped working out. From what i gather this pain will now quite probably be with me for the rest of my life.

this has made me question myself in my bodybuilding quest:

why am i doing this ?
why suffer like this ?
is being a muscular beast worth all this hastle ?
am i a muscular beast  ??? i look nothing like the pros  :(
women don't even like muscular guys - isn't that why i started  ???
but at least men fear and respect me - thats a bonus  ::)
what is wrong with me  ??? am i crazy  ???

you know the sort of things that happen that make you question yourself.

this has happened many times in the past also - i once broke 2 of my toes at the gym - but i was due to do a leg workout - no broken toes, or pain would stop me from my quest. as my toes turned purple and swelled up, the pain drove me harder than ever to rip that weight during deadlifts.

i'm sure we all have our battle scars and each time you look in the mirror afterwards and ask if it is worth it.

i've torn rotators - questions began. i've ripped chunks of flesh out of the palms of my hands, broken bones in my hand, pulled muscles, fucked my joints etc etc each time questions arise.

when i began lifting seriously - i read everything i could about bodybuilding, so like the pros i ate every 3 hours and worked out for 2 hours at a time.

I was literally dead on my feet after some workouts, i couldn't walk after leg day, couldn't lift my arms after shoulder day, would regularly puke my guts up etc

yes i did all this yet i didn't look anywhere like the pros ( who all claimed they were natural, and just had good genetics) this used to drive me insane - why do i not look like the pro's, i'm doing everything they are doing etc why wont i grow.

it thought it must be lack of protein - so i force feed myself protein shakes and got fatter, and constipated  >:( but thats ok, pro's eat loads of protein to put on mass, they must suffer too - they are really hardcore, no wonder they are pros and i'm a twink.

yet despite this for many months i still didn't look like the pros, so i force feed myself some more carbs, and got fatter again  >:( but thats ok, pro's like lee priest turn into bloated fat messed when bulking and look at how good he looks when he diets, so i bulk some more.

yet months of this just made me fatter, bloated and more constipated, blood even started showing in my stools. Then i read that fats were really good for you - its essential for testosterone production in the body :o it also loosens your stools  :o  maybe thats where i went wrong all this time, so i add fat to my bulk. but guess what  ::) months of this just made me fatter still :(

i know, if my diet is good, and i'm eating the same as the pros maybe i'm not working out hard enough, so i'll up the sets and exercises, work out 3 hours a day 7 days a week - yet months later, despite some workouts that would make the gods of olympus proud i still dont look like the pros  >:(

i know, the pro's all say you have to be focussed in the gym, and disciplined outside the gym, so i wont talk to anyone in the gym - you want to talk ? talk to the hand bitch - its back day !

outside ? i wont hang out with my friends as much, getting more sleep at the weekends rather than party and fucking girls will help me grow and i'll be pro size in no time - yet that isn't really working either - what more can i do, i'll just have to cut the nights out more and more till i literally never go out for months at a time, not that i mind much, all that extra weight made it very difficult to walk from bar to bar anyway, and girls stopped talking to me long ago too - fuck them - more test in my balls for my muscles anyway ! i'll make them pay with some rough manly sex once i'm pro size ! thankfully i don't seem to have lost my touch when it comes to making them laugh - now though they are laughing at me  :-[

so years have now passed - i'm now a fat hermit, i sweat all day like a peado at a school play, i have stretch marks all over, i cannot walk 100 yards without being out of breath, i have forgotten how to talk to women, my friends think i've turned weird, my workmates think i'm gay as i openly admire men in thongs and have been single for years

now years later i look back and question it all. Was it worth it?

hell yes !

Fatpanda, if I go to a planet with less gravity so I can lift more weight, will I get bigger?

Fatpanda, if I go to a planet with less gravity so I can lift more weight, will I get bigger?

good question master, unfortunately the extra weight would be offset by the lower gravity levels, i.e. 50lbs on earth would no longer weigh 50lbs on the planet with lower gravity.

however - the laws of muscle physiology still apply, so if you use progressive resistance you will still grow just as you would here.

a warning however: if you go to this planet and manage to squat 1000lbs, please do not try to lift 1000lbs when you return to earth.

discussions: An interesting thing here: if we ever meet an alien race that come from a planet with a higher gravitational force than earth, they will be stronger muscularly, their skin and bones will also be stronger than ours  :o

one of the theorys on superman is this why he is so strong, bullet proof etc compared to other humans.

i hope this has helped master  ;)

What's your diet look like?

well silverback i've tried it all, high carb, low carb, high fat, low fat, high protein, low protein.

at the end of the day, after all my years of experiments, reading and learning from both.

the best diet is one that provides you with all your required nutrients and that you can adhere too long term.

i can go into more detail if you wish, but a recent search of my ownings of coach, and many others will tell you more.

This is a good honest assesment of someone with bipolar disorder.  Obviously aquiring knowledge to do something and the willingness to make a long term investment is in conflict.    You would do well to seek therapy and im not saying this to be mean bro.......you need some balance in your life, you seem to bounce between rage and laziness with food as a comfort.

I would let the bodybuilding thing go and just train for fitness for a couple years till your body and mind get right.

bodybuilding is only really worth it if you have the following legit hormones at hand,,

testosterona,,
trenbolona,,
masterona,,
equipona,,
dianabolona,,

with the above mentioned drugs you can get to be a very very good bodybuilder,,NOW,,EVEN IF ONE SINGLE ONE IS MISSING,,YOU WILL FINS YOURSELF UNABLE TO MAINTAIN THE BEST PHYSIQE YOU CAN GET OUT OF YOURSELF,,

those drugs should be incorperated in diff times to a one long cycle that never ends,,diff levels of drugs at diff times,,

tthe drugs above can make you look nasty big and ripped,,BUT! you will never be huge,,

inorder to be huge GROWTH HORMONE IS A MUST,, no other peptides are needed the rest of them is just chinease scam and sell points,,

insulin is needed in specific individuals inorder to go even higher level but! insulin at the final end will ALWAYS I REPEAT ALWAYS fuck you up,,not because you will die because you wont,,IT WILL FUCK YOU UP IN THE SENSE THAT WITH GH IT WILL CREATE A LARGE WAIST THAT YOU WIL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET RID OFF,,this is what put bodybuilding in the cult state its at,,

;D lots of people missing the point of this thread. It is not how i look, it is not how i train, it is not how i eat. It is a honest assessment of how i got to where i am now.

Did you all start bodybuilding looking like greek gods? of course not ( apart from seva, and sherief and bigbobs of course)

did you all know exactly how to lift weights for maximum stimulation from your first workout ?

did you know when and how to eat ?

did you know what to do when you got injured ?

did you not believe what the pro's wrote about in magazines ?

of course you didn't, we all start and learn as we go.

Mine is a story of sacrifice that i'm sure many bodybuilders the world over can identify with.

i came here to educate getbig from both my mistakes and my successes.

If you listen to my story you will be set free.

My name is Fatpanda and this is my story.

I'm thinking of picking up the tuba. Do you think I should start with a French Horn, maybe a euphonium, before making the jump to the big leagues?

Wondering, doc
Let's see....severely overweight and wreaked with injuries.....sounds like your knowledge of training is as limited as your knowledge of nutrition. "Mmmm, let's see, chicken or a doughnut, oh well, no difference, I'll take the doughnut" hahahaha!

coach coach coach......you really need to let the ownings go.

if you accept me as your lord and savior i will lead you and your clients to salvation. ( no homo)

you have to empty your cup before it can be filled.

simply say the words and i will fill your cup (no homo)

there's no challenge, and therefore little wit is required to make this thread truly epic.

How is it that you're training that you're getting so many bad injuries and taking chunks of flesh out!?! maybe go with a personal trainer for a few months to show you how to train properly, this isn't a diss to you but if you're injuring yourself to such a degree you might not be handling the weight properly or trying to use an insane amount of weight  that will most likely end in injury...

free weights with dumbells. i didn't use wrist straps, just raw grip strength.

eventually the calluses build up and the weight gets so heavy that they rip off taking a chunk off your palm, leaving only raw exposes flesh.

never had any back issues till this disc jumped out  :( - never used a weight belt.

rotator cuff issues stem from improper technique when i first started out - mainly a pec dec machine, and behind the neck presses  :(

i am a qualified gym instructor - i know what i'm doing now.

saying that i'm slightly worried by this disc injury - as i have been getting major leg cramps in one leg , and have lost all feeling in the front of my thigh and knee  :-\

i may have to go and see a doctor  :(

Rotator cuff problems stem from not training for joint integrity and going right into compound movements WITH improper technique. Train for joint (stabilizer....the 4 muscles of the rotator cuff are stabilizers) integrity FIRST. An "expert" such as yourself should already know this.....right?

aren't you the gimmick i so brutally owned in your former account, you have been pming me non stop trying to get revenge on me ?  ;D

i wonder who you could be - i have owned so many over the years here.

take joe above aka the coach, aka the stick studs supremo, aka joe loco ,aka a calorie is not a calorie.

i have owned him more times than i can count - his archaic knowledge of fitness and nutrition protocols could have been lifted straight from the old testament.  :-\

however although i knew he was set in his ways and closed minded, i was surprised by how he betrayed josh just as i accepted his challenge.

very low joe, very very low - not that i'm surprised. you knew you were onto a loser when you found out i was the competition. not only would i embarrass your protocols in theory, and scientific fact, but also in real life.

Fair enough, be careful with your back man..that's one area that will affect you for life and get worse with later years

I've had problems with rotator cuff myself after being an idiot and military pressing a few plates a side few years into my start with weightlifting, now I regret those ego lifts :(

Was it worth it?

hell yes !

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOM BITCHES !!!!!

lol he owned himself right there with no return..

exactly, at a certain point you dont get much more muscle anymore with heavier lifting though. better to keep yourself healthy then.
